Interesting read. Not a released title, so maybe those few things will get the polish they need. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/06/how-deus-ex-human-revolution-feels-on-pc/

First I've heard of this, but it is pretty neat. Basically allows you to instantly play a PC game demo in your browser. Very similar to OnLive, but I don't see any option to play or purchase full games on it. http://www.gaikai.com

Link to site For those of you that don't know, Two Guys from Andomeda was the duo that created the Space Quest games. They disappeared for quite some time and all of a sudden decided to get back together again and create a new 'Spaceventure'. I don't know if it will be the next Space Quest game, or something entirely new, but either way, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am. Doesn't sound like they are going to jump on board the Kickstarter bandwagon. At least not yet anyways. I realize I may be showing my age by getting excited for all these old games, but who cares, they were what made me the gamer I am today.

Microsoft has reaffirmed that maligned PC service Games for Windows - Live service is here to stay. Can we at least ditch the hyphen? Quizzed by NeoGamr about possible discontinuation (via Rock, Paper, Shotgun), Microsoft responded: "Answer is no." And continued: "Microsoft continues to support the Games for Windows platform, but we are making new investments in Metro style games. To this end, and "for the core PC gamer", Microsoft launched Age of Empires Online and Microsoft Flight. Count yourselves lucky. The last game that American McGee's studio, Spicy Horse, released was Alice: Madness Returns. It looks like their next project will follow that lead, taking a heroine from a classic children's story and twisting it just a bit. This time, Red Riding Hood is up for the American McGee treatment. Akaneiro: Demon Hunters takes the tale and reimagines it in Japan during the Edo period. Spicy Horse has released a few images on its Twitter feed and Facebook page, but actual game details are still a ways away. We know that it's an action RPG, and judging from the image featured on the game's site (above) not to mention the title itself, Ms. Hood will be joined by a few deadly pals…

So what's the info on the rpg? The videos I've seen indicate its a graphically good looking game. Lots of detail on the armors and such. However, its hard to get a straigh-line on this game since I don't see too much info about it. Releases for all platforms on 5/15. edit - found this video about combat - realtime during combat and inventory management. You can slow-down time, but never stop it. http://www.ign.com/v...bat-walkthrough

So, I like RPGs. I like JRPGs and I like WRPGs. What I don't like is that both of them have fallen into a rut and would rather adhere to tradition than innovate in their respective genres. The answer isn't to try to bring back oldschool games, because they went out of fashion for a reason. Because big companies aren't pushing forward with making innovative RPGs, I decided I would make one myself. You can see the Kickstarter here. Rather than trying to look to the past, we decided to start from scratch and throw out everything that has been done to death and makes RPGs repetitive - random encounters, grinding, silent protagonists, mystical princesses, ancient evils, etc. I…

Among The Sleep invites you into the mind and body of a two year old child. After being put to bed one evening, mysterious things start to happen. Being played in first person, the game let its players immerse themselves in a child's limitless imagination. This is a perspective we all have a distant familiarity with, but few can clearly remember what it felt like. In the borderland between dream and reality, surreal creatures and diverse environments will present you with both physical and mental obstacles that challenge your creativity. Among The Sleep is set for release on PC & MAC next year, but you can bask in some of its glory already, by downloading the wallpape…

Right. So, I was on Steam when it said I had Napoleon: Total War in my library. Then it said "2 Days Left!" Next to it. I looked, and it said I owned the full game. The thing is, I had never bought it. I got a new game for completely free. Anyone know why this happened?

So I caved yesterday and pre-ordered the game (official release is today, so I still got the pre-order goodies). I played the beta for a few months and really enjoyed it. The setting, the classless/level-less character progression, the fact that I actually have to THINK to complete a fair amount of quests, etc. Anyone else play the beta and have any thoughts on the game? I needed a new game since I'm getting pretty bored of Diablo on Hell mode.

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today released a free update to Portal 2's in-game puzzle maker that lets users design and publish co-op test chambers. Since its release on the PC and Mac in May, 2012, community map makers have used the Steam Workshop and Portal 2's in-game editor - called the Perpetual Testing Initiative - to create and share more than 170,000 single-player test chambers. With this update, the community will for the first time be able to design puzzles that require two players working cooperatively to solve. This update also introduces a "Quick Pla…

So I finally finished Borderlands 2 (which I'll still undoubtedly play more of later) and started up Torchlight II. It's pretty neat so far, though I haven't played much. I made an Engineer (tank with summons and some other tricks), but it was a tough choice between him, the Embermage (mage), and the Outlander (guns/ranged). Berserker looks dumb to me. One thing I do hate already, and hated in the first and with most games like this, is the lack of respeccing. It was absent entirely from the first game, and with so many skills with so many ranks to invest in, that's a real pain. I don't want to have to use a guide to make a solid character, I'm playing for fun and li…

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today introduced the Steam Community Market, now in Beta with Team Fortress 2. The Community Market is designed to expand the Steam Economy beyond trading. Players are now enabled to buy and sell in-game items with other players for Steam Wallet funds. "With over a half million trades made every week, the trading system has been very successful," said Tony Paloma of Valve. "Extending game economies beyond trades and giving players a way to turn gameplay into funds for new items and games is a key c…
