Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the free Portal 2 DLC titled "Perpetual Testing Initiative" will be available for the PC and Mac on May 8th. So I have a Dell PC, HP LCD monitor, keyboard, and mouse and I don't need it anymore. It's my old work PC (we upgraded) and it has twice the storage because the thing was custom built to hold alot of narratives, appraisals, and real estate photos. Would anybody be interested in this thing as a gaming PC or just interested in it in general? I'm willing to ship it, if someone will take it off my hands for $75 and half the cost of shipping.

It’s been a month since Dawnguard arrived on the Xbox 360, which means the typical length of your average Microsoft exclusivity deal has expired, but there’s still no news of any further release dates. So … when can we expect Dawnguard on PC? “We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news,” says Bethesda maketing VP Pete Hines in a tweet spotted by IGN. “If we have news, I promise I’d tell you.” Oh. Dawnguard is surely coming to PC, though, right? “I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming,” said Hines coyly in a follow-up tweet. “Sometimes it’s better to say n…

So, I finished this today. I'd say the reviewers that scored it in the higher margins nailed it. The first act drags on pretty bad, and it seems like a lot of nothing is going on, but after that it picks up considerably. Some of the puzzles are a little bit of a stretch, but the make sense once you figure them out. I also liked that you could skip most of the mini games. I'm not a fan so I just skipped them all. Overall, a decent adventure game. It's a shame that it ends were it does. You really are just getting to like the main character when the credits roll. However, they are suppose to be releasing #2 in Sept. If you like adventure games, this is one worth picki…

Diablo 3 has two auction houses - one which deals in real money and another in in-game gold - through which players can buy and sell in-game items. It was expected, Wilson noted during a GDC talk (via Joystiq), that a legitimate auction feature would reduce the use of fraud and black market sales, and that only a small number of players would use them. The developer was wrong on both accounts, admitted Wilson. Almost every Diablo 3 player, he said, has used an auction house at some point, and over half of them on a regular basis. This "damaged item rewards", he added, and the pursuit of money has detracted from what should be the game's real motivator - its campaign. …
