EA and Tiger Woods End Their 15 Year Relationship
Gamers who have been living out their pro golfing fantasies through the Tiger Woods series, Tiger Woods PGA Tour are going to be shedding a tear. EA and Tiger Woods announced that they have parted ways after a 15 year relationship. While EA and Tiger Woods have severed their relationship, EA still retains the rights to the PGA tour series, they just cannot use Tiger Woods name, in game character, and put him on the cover. EA does plan on using PGA Tour in the name on future titles including the announcement of a next gen PGA Tour game that will be on the PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices. According to market tracking company NPD Group, the Tiger Woods series has sold close to $771 million dollars since it's start. Tiger Woods agent Mark Steinberg said that it is hard to find a game series like the PGA Tour series outside of John Madden. "We had an incredible run. Outside of [John] Madden, you would be hard pressed to find a sports figure that meant as much to a video game company as Tiger meant to EA. But times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership and frankly so did we." According to ESPN, Steinberg also claimed that he was in negotiations with another company regarding Tiger Woods "video game rights". via ESPN and Gamespot Click here to view the article

Ubisoft Talks About Watch Dogs Delay
People can cry "foul" all they want about why this was delayed. I would much rather play a game that is complete, then one that still needs work due to a premature release.

Ubisoft Talks About Watch Dogs Delay
When Watch Dogs was delayed around the time GTA V released, many thought that Ubisoft was worried that their sales of Watch Dog would tank due to the popularity of the GTA series and also considering that Ubisoft created Watch Dogs in part to compete with games like GTA and Saint's Row. However, Ubisoft's Communications Manager Gary Steinman answered that question in a recent blog post on Ubi Blog and also answered other questions about the game in the comment section of his post where he revealed that the delay was not about the release of GTA V, but about the quality of the game. "We respect GTAV quite a bit. It’s an incredible game. But this decision doesn’t have anything to do with any other game. The Watch Dogs team started work a few years ago with the vision to build the first truly next-gen new IP, which is a huge undertaking. We won’t compromise on the quality and the experience of Watch Dogs, even if it means our initial timeline proved too ambitious. Ubisoft’s long-term goal is to be the best developer of next-gen games, and this starts with Watch Dogs. That’s always been the goal, and it remains the goal to this day." Steinman further reiterated that the game has been in development for "nearly half of a decade" and that all they want to do is deliver a "exceptional" game. "Watch Dogs already has an incredible depth and scope. We won’t compromise on the quality and the experience of Watch Dogs, even if it means our initial timeline proved too ambitious. We want to be the winner on next-gen, which means we need to make bold decisions and create games that will deliver unrivaled innovations. This is why the team is taking extra time to realize their ambitions for the game.” “We know it feels like a last-minute decision, but we promise it was not a decision made lightly… We tested the game until the very last minute in order to make the most informed decision. It’s now clear that we need to allow for this extra time to fully realize our ambition, polish the game and really do it justice. This is why the team is taking extra time to realize their ambitions for the game.” “The focus here is on delivering the best possible game and being a leader on the next-gen, rather than releasing the game prematurely. We know there will be some great games at launch (including Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag!), and in the window between launch and release. The team has been working really hard to deliver a really ambitious game within the original timeframe. We tested the game until the very last minute in order to make the most informed decision. It’s now clear that we need to allow for this extra time to fully realize our ambition, polish the game and really do it justice. We have high expectations for the next gen, and we want to deliver a game a truly exceptional and memorable game.” “The game has actually been in development now for nearly half a decade. The whole team is doing an amazing job, and remains committed to the project. Their intention is still to deliver a truly exceptional and memorable game. The game has incredible depth and scope, and we think players will appreciate that even more thanks to the additional time we’re taking to fully realize our ambition and polish the game.” Watch Dogs which was originally suppose to be release on November 19th was pushed back to Spring 2014 with no definitive date given. via Ubi Blog Click here to view the article

PS4 "Red Line of Death" Rumor Begins
The Playstation 4 is rumored to have been spotted suffering from what is being called the "Red Line of Death" while the display console sat in an unventilated display case during an event where Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was being shown. The supposed photo which appeared in a forum post on Spanish website, Elotrado claims that the PS4 displayed an error message on the TV that said the console was experiencing a high temperature and a red line appeared where it is normally blue. The display PS4 console then shut off, which both the Xbox 360 and PS3 do when the consoles are overheating. The security case was then opened and the error message was removed from the tv, followed by the red light being replaced with it's normal blue color. Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has responded to these rumors when asked over Twitter about the incident by saying, "not true". Whether or not the PS4 does indeed overheat or in this case possibly overheat due to lack of ventilation will be found out when the console releases on November 15th here stateside. via NowGamerand The Sixth Axis Click here to view the article

Call of Duty: Ghosts on PC Will Take up 50 GB
Nvidia released the specs for Call of Duty: Ghosts on the PC and surprisingly the game is going to be massive, literally. If you are planning on picking up the next entry into Call of Duty series; Call of Duty: Ghosts plan on making space on your PC if you are lacking in storage space. Nvidia claims that it will take up 50 GB on your hard drive and you will also need 6 GB of RAM in order to play at minimum specifications. Eurogamer cites that a possible reason for the increased need for storage on the PC may be due to the textures in Call of Duty: Ghosts and that Nvidia has been pushing for a "flawless" 4K experience according to Nvidia's Andrew Burnes. "Of course, to play games at 4K you're going to need a top-end system, one that features SLI GeForce GTX 770s, GTX 780s, or GTX SLI TITANs, Only these configurations have the performance to power games like Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Watch_Dogs to their maximum potential. To ensure a flawless 4K experience Nvidia is working closely with the developers of each game, and in addition to supporting 4K, we are working hand-in-hand with the developers to integrate exclusive, game-changing Nvidia technologies like PhysX, TXAA, and HBAO." via Eurogamer Click here to view the article

Xbox One News on Day One Update
I agree Sky. It is a nice change, because there have been numerous times when you download an update and it makes things worse and they have to release a patch. So at least now you can wait and see if there are any issues and still be able to play.

Transgender Journalist Says She Was "completely dehumanised" at an Xbox One event
When she started back peddling on things and saying that she wished it never went public; that was her doing. Then asking for websites to pull the story down it is a bunch of bull. I am not for someone being discriminated against in any way...but something about this is fishy. Something clearly happened, however I think it was embellished a bit.

Sony Fires Back at Sony, The Last Guardian Was Never On Hiatus
SCE Japan's Shuhei Yoshida is calling out US Sony's Jack Tretton for a comment he made during an interview with Games Industry claiming that The Last Guardian is on a hiatus. Yoshida responded at the Tokyo Game Show by saying that Jack Tretton threw those words out there and that the game was never on a hiatus. "Hiatus, I never... It was Jack Tretton! He used that term, and I said no, hiatus is misleading. It was a hiatus in terms of releasing new information. The game has never stopped - the team has always been here. They're going through the re-engineering of the game, so the team size is smaller, because it's more engineering focused right now." Yoshida reiterated that despite the smaller team, the game is development. "We're waiting for the right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian in an appropriate way. I can't... Well, the game is in development, and it's well staffed, and Ueda-san is here, working - even though he's not a Sony employee, he's dedicated to the product. But we're not ready to update yet." The Last Guardian which was announced at E3 2009 and was suppose to release in 2011 on the PS3, however was delayed. Since then not much has been said about the title other than hints of gameplay and plot and this recent announcement that the game is still in the development stages. via IGN Click here to view the article

Transgender Journalist Says She Was "completely dehumanised" at an Xbox One event
At the Eurogamer Expo 2013, a transgender journalist is claiming that she was "completely dehumanised" by an Xbox One presenter. Laura Kate Dale, a transgender journalist is claiming that Fraser Millward; a British comedian and actor who was hired for the event, humiliated her by referring to her as an "it", "thing", "he" and "this one". Laura who made the announcement over Twitter stated that she "Hopes someone from Microsoft sees this" and said that people at the event "refused" to let her talk to the comedian after his comments were made and that they attempted to apologize. Microsoft who is a supporter of transgendered individuals and even sent a Master Chief cosplayer and Warthog to Seattle's recent Pride parade issued the following statement, "We are aware of an incident yesterday on the Xbox booth at the Eurogamer Expo, at which an inappropriate comment was made, and we apologise for any offence caused." The comedian in question, Fraser Millward also released a statement saying, "No offence was intended when I referred to Laura Kate Dale as ‘this person’ after I asked the audience to applaud her... ...and I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any offence and hurt I may have caused. There will be no further comment or response regarding this matter" Since the story broke, Laura is also claiming that she has been receiving hateful remarks directed towards her on Twitter and she wishes that the story never made it public. She has asked websites like Kotaku to pull the story from their website to which Kotaku declined and issued a statement encouraging their readers "to remember that there are human beings on the other end of your online comments". Xbox One News on Day One Update
No, you read that correctly. After you unbox and setup your brand new Xbox One, there is an update. The mandatory update will need 15-20 minutes to fully download. The update addresses the system's firmware changes that were needed after the change of policies that occurred when fans moaned over several key features that were set to appear in the Xbox One. Unfortunately for the Xbox One consoles that were set to launch could not be tweaked to reflect those changes hence the need for the update. "We are optimising Xbox One so that the day one update is as fast as possible. While we're still finalising the details, we expect that the download will take between 15 and 20 minutes for most users," stated Xbox One's Chief Platform Architect Marc Whitten to IGN. Whitten also explained that every single Xbox One title will be able to use the cloud service, existing Xbox Live gamertags will be carried over to the Xbox One, and there will be optional updates from developers that gamers do not have to download immediately and can continue playing online without interruption. Whitten also confirmed that you can be signed on at the same time with the same gamertag on one Xbox 360 console and one Xbox One console and reiterated that Xbox One is no longer region locked and also that gamers can turn the Kinect sensor completely off in the settings. The Xbox One is set to launch this upcoming holiday season on the same day as the Xbox 360 launched, November 22nd. Xbox One's competitor the PS4, releases the week prior on November 15th. via IGN Click here to view the article
