  1. In a move that secured the exclusivity of one of gaming's most successful franchises in past years, Epic Games has officially handed the reigns of Gears of War over to Microsoft. Microsoft bought the rights to everything involving Gears of War and also took Rod Ferguson who was the executive producer and director of production for the first three titles in the series which were arguably the most successful releases in the Gears of War franchise. Microsoft has also given a no-name studio the right to develop the next entry into the Gears of War series. Black Tusk Studios who is owned by Microsoft was suppose to start developing a series back in 2012 that would overthrow the Halo series. Two years later, that has yet to happen however Black Tusk Studios does have an unannounced game that has yet to be announced besides the next Gears of War title. Microsoft's Phil Spencer said that Black Tusk Studios "has a passion for the shooter space". "Black Tusk has assembled a world-class team with deep experience and passion for the shooter space, and specifically the Gears of War franchise." Spencer was not the only one to release a statement regarding the purchase of Gears of War from Epic. Epic Games' Tim Sweeney said that they are "proud" the Gears of Wars franchise and are "happy" with reaching this agreement with Microsoft. "Epic Games has reached an agreement to sell the Gears of War intellectual property rights to Microsoft. We’re very proud of the franchise we built in close partnership with Microsoft over the past decade and are happy that this agreement enables Microsoft to forge ahead with the Gears universe on their industry-leading platforms as Epic concentrates its efforts on new projects. Epic remains totally dedicated to supporting Xbox One and is licensing the Unreal Engine 4 technology to Microsoft in support of their future projects." via IGN and Black Tusk Studios wiki Click here to view the article

  3. Ban?! It's been forever!!!!
  4. I have only gotten a little over a handful of names in so far. I know that I gave a deadline of February 1st, but the sooner I have your name in the easier it is to get a list ready and get this party rolling. Not to mention I have found out over the past couple of years that sometimes people forget within that couple week span and try to send a late entry in which I don't care if you have been a member since the ATC days, it's not accepted. If you do send me a PM with your name and I don't get back to you right away, please do not fret. Between work, the 5 classes I am taking this semester, wrestling schedules with my boys, and feeling like crap with this pregnancy I am a little busy. I do log in here everyday though, multiple times during the day so trust me, I got your PM

  11. I can now respond to this since they released the Xbox One patch. It seems to be stable for the most part now. I still have the occasional issue when trying to join Conquest where I ended up in a different mode. The Server Browser goes down sometimes, but not too often so it makes it difficult to play Premium. But, since the patch the game is more enjoyable.

  13. I am very much interested in this game and I hope that Warhorse finds a publisher for it. The games industry needs to accept something different like this game and present it to the public to give us a chance to say "Fail" or "Love". I hate that these companies are being our voices when the majority of the stuff on the market now is trash or is "been there done that". It is frustrating and developers and publishers need to take note that we love variety!
  14. A Czech studio which is headed up by former Mafia series designer Daniel Vávra is trying to find a home for his open world, next-gen medieval RPG which he claims has no fantasy, just realistic interpretations of the historic time period. According to Eurogamer, Vávra had previously announced the idea for Kingdom Come: Deliverance which runs on CryEngine 3, a year ago with hopes of publishing the title on next-gen consoles and PC sometime in 2015. "Deliverance promises no magic, high fantasy or mythical overtones - it draws its inspiration instead from historically authentic characters, themes, and warfare," claimed a press release that was sent to Eurogamer. "The team's ambition for Kingdom Come: Deliverance is growing this ever-maturing sandbox genre in a believable, real-world context and scope. To that end, we're harnessing CryEngine 3, non-linear narrative, varied freedom in character progression, and a consequence-laden living world in ways that have never been possible until now." The only problem is, the Czech based studio; Warhorse Studios is facing rejection from companies such as an American company who Warhorse claims in a blog post told them that "they didn’t think the game would fly with Americans." Warhorse went on to explain, "We’ve faced rejection from other companies, too, of course, but that one was perhaps the most painful." The rejection continued with "One investment banker from London told us in no uncertain terms that PC and consoles are dead, and if we're not making a free-to-play MMO for iPad, we've got no chance," claimed Warhorse in the same blog post. The idea behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance did find some short success with a private investor; Zdenek Bakala who happens to be one of them richest men in the Czech Republic donating $3-$4 million dollars towards the project. Warhorse Studios did release a teaser trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, followed by a gameplay trailer which you can find on Eurogamer. via Eurogamer and Warhorse Studios Click here to view the article

  16. On the Batman Arkham Facebook page, a mysterious message appeared hinting at a big announcement coming on 12/31/2013. Could it be a new next-gen Batman Arkham game or perhaps DLC for Batman Arkham: Origins? Warner Bros. has previously announced that narrative driven DLC was to be expected sometime in 2014 for Batman Arkham: Origins, but they did not give an exact time frame for when gamers could expect it. There is also the chance that the announcement could be a next-gen Batman Arkham game considering that owners of the next-gen consoles with the exception of the Wii U, do not have a Batman: Arkham game to play. What do you think? Game or DLC? via Batman Arkham Facebook Click here to view the article

  18. Our very own Dateranoth, put together this handy guide for last minute shopping for the PC gamer on your list this year! Keyboards: A mechanical keyboard is always a nice addition for the PC gamer. One of the higher rated ones is the Razer Black Widow Ultimate: Amazon $112 Here is another option: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ . They sell a full arrangement of mechanical keyboard that are customizable. Plus they have detailed information on the different switches. No macro support, but they are all around great keyboards. Mice: I have to recommend the R.A.T. 7 (wired): Amazon $98 or the R.A.T. 9 (wireless): Amazon $134 . They have been around for a while and look like a transformer, but with all the options you can fit the mouse to almost any hand. Very comfortable once you find the right arrangement for your hand. Plus they have fully programmable buttons, dpi adjustment, and different modes all at your finger tips. Monitors: I have been wishing for either one of these fine monitors: BenQ XL2420TE: Amazon $280 ASUS VG248QE: Amazon $267 Both are 24 inch monitors supporting 1080P and up to 144hz refresh rate. It seems that which is left up to preference. The BenQ has been noted to have less flickering at different brightness levels, but the ASUS will be the first monitor to be compatible with NVIDIA G-sync when it releases. Graphics Cards: Under $300 Radeon R9 270x: Amazon $218-$250 or Nvidia 760: Amazon $240-$300 I would recommend the Nvidia card, but the Radeon performs close to the same and can be found for a bit cheaper. Above $400 Radeon R9: Newegg $550 or Nvidia 780: Newegg $500 The Radeon card performs about 10% faster than the the Nvidia card, but currently the Nvidia 780 can be had for $50 cheaper and includes Batman Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag when purchased during the holidays. Headset: Personally, I can only recommend one. Sennheiser PC360: Amazon $167 They will work with the PC, and also a PS4 if you have an adapter to hook into the controller ( fairly cheap ) . Not sure about the Xbox One. The sound quality is excellent, and it has a well built mic for chat. Plus they are incredibly comfortable for long play sessions. Hard Drives: Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GB to 1TB: Amazon $100 to $525 Samsung 840 Pro SSD 128GB to 512GB: Amazon $125 to $420 An SSD is almost a must have for any serious gamer these days. The problem has been price per gigabyte, but those prices have come back to something more reasonable. If all you care about is speed and performance, or you're just looking for a new boot drive without the extra space I would recommend the 840 Pro series. They are pricier, but one of the fastest SSDs on the market. Keep in mind, the 128GB model is slightly slower than the larger models. If you are looking for an SSD to increase your speeds and also need the extra space then I recommend the 840 EVO series. They aren't as fast as many SSDs out there, but they are still considerably faster than a standard Hard Drive and sport a lot better price/per gigabyte. As suggested with the Pro series, you should think about grabbing at least the 250GB model. Either way though, the EVO is a great addition to any PC for a reasonable price. 21. Leaked documents have surfaced for a Fallout 4 voice acting casting call and also reveal that the game is set in Boston. The casting call project which is code-named "Institute" does not officially mention the name Fallout 4 in anyway, however one glance at these documents make it pretty obvious what they are referring to. Among things discussed in these leaked documents includes the Fallout staple quote; "War. War never changes", references Boston as where the game will take place, and also mentions other Fallout locations such as the Commonwealth which was formerly known as Massachusetts. The casting call also lists that they are looking for a radio dj named Travis Miles, an engineer names Sturges, and also voice actors for the main playable character who can be either male or female. According to Kotaku which is where these leaked casting call documents were first seen, they have confirmed the documents to be real. Bethesda has remained quiet on the topic of Fallout 4 after a website was launched supposedly for Fallout 4, but turned out to be a hoax and Bethesda quickly shut it down. Interestingly enough though, Bethesda did file for a Fallout 4 trademark back in November in Europe, however remains mum about whether or not the game is in development. via Kotaku (click link to view documents) Click here to view the article

  23. I never played the first one either, but I watched Jason play it and it is amazing. I am extremely disappointed that it won't be on the Xbox One and I hope that is something that Lionhead can remedy in the future (even though they said no) after Fable Legends releases as well. I think they will be missing some sales because of that. I know I want to play it on my Xbox One!
