  1. Those of you who have yet to install Bethesda's recent patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on your Xbox 360 might want to wait. Gamers have flocked to the Skyrim forums and are expressing their outrage after many have discovered their game is just about unplayable after installing the update. Patch 1.2 went live yesterday and since then gamers have been complaining of bugs, quests not advancing, dragons still flying backwards, spells not working, not being able to play saved games, and the list goes on. One gamer on the forums stated, "it was working fine for me before the 1.2 patch" and another titled their thread, "Thank you bethesda" where they expressed their thanks for breaking the game. Bethesda has yet to comment on any of the gamers complaints regarding the issues they have been having since installing the update. via GameZone and Skyrim Forums Click here to view the article
  2. Is it or isn't it? That seems to be the question regarding the rampent rumors of an upcoming BioShock movie. Regardless of when or if that rumor will be confirmed, fans have taken to Youtube to post their fan made trailers for what they would like to see as a BioShock movie. One trailer in particular stands out above the rest and the interwebs have taken notice. Maybe Hollywood will too. http://youtu.be/qRa-78twi3svia Joystiq and Click here to view the article
  3. UFC fans will have to wait to watch UFC fights on their Xbox 360 until December 20, because Microsoft announced that the app has been delayed. The UFC app which was suppose to arrive on the Xbox 360 today allows gamers to watch fights, stream in HD, watch the interactive fight card, and of course purchase pay per views all while using Kinect. Microsoft did not say why the delay happened, but at least it will be available for the next pay per view fight. via Gaming Blend Click here to view the article

  5. The winter 2011 dashboard update has been slightly delayed according to Major Nelson in a tweet over Twitter. No word as to why, but Major Nelson said he will provide a "status update" later today. 6. The Darkness 2's "Vendettas" four player co-op has been detailed by 2K Games. The campaign co-op mode features four characters who are all wielding weapons that harness the power of The Darkness. Each character is unique in their own background including the mentally unstable and out for revenge Inugami, the evil destroying seeker Shoshanna, a notorious alcoholic Jimmy who can summon Darklings that he refers to as "Little Jimmy's", and there is J.P., an ex doctor who once used voodoo to heal patients and is now carrying around a sense of guilt. 8. What? No Sazh?! That's right, there is a rumor swirling about that we might not see one of the more popular figures from Final Fantasy XIII. Details from a Japanese magazine, Dengeki Playstation include news that Sazh won't be appearing in the new Final Fantasy XIII-2. However, the magazine does say that according to a Square-Enix representative, "Final Fantazy XIII-2 will continue after the release, so look forward to later on." Could it be that Sazh will be in future DLC for the game? I for one hope this rumor turns out to be false and that Sazh will be in the entire game. But DLC sounds exciting either way! I will update when I learn more info on this rumor. Written By: starscream xox via Shack News Click here to view the article

  11. Want to visit DICE in Stockholm, Sweden and gush about how much you are insanely addicted to the intense and sometimes maddening multiplayer in their recently released Battlefield 3? Now is your chance, because DICE has announced a new Battlefield 3 Community Challenge, "Only In Battlefield 3" and the winner gets a paid trip to visit the team behind Battlefield 3. All you have to do is upload your "Only in Battlefield 3" moment to Youtube before January 23, 2012 and email a link to vidcomp@dice.se . DICE will be selecting three winners from the entries for the 3 day trip for two. That's correct, each winner can bring along another to accompany them during the trip. http://youtu.be/B2sXWsIMSvMFor more information regarding the "Only In Battlefield" challenge vist the official Battlefield website. via Battlefield 3 Click here to view the article
  12. We all know it's coming. EA even confirmed back in early November after Battlefield 3 released, that there will be a Battlefield 4. Now one gamer believes they may have caught a tiny easter egg regarding the next Battlefield while playing the mulitplayer. During a multiplayer round on the Battlefield 3 multiplayer map, Wake Island one gamer caught the numbers "2143" inscribed on a wall. Could this point to a game following the futuristic ice age set Battlefield 2142 that never made it to consoles? Take a look for yourself. via Eurogamer Click here to view the article
  13. While most websites are getting together their top [enter random number here] gaming lists of 2011, I decided what better why to usher in a new year then to go over the list of disappointments from the gaming industry for the 2011 year. I doubt anybody will learn from their mistakes, but hey this gamer can hope. Right? (May contain spoilers for games that you have not played yet. You have been warned) Saint's Row: The Third At the top of my list is Volition and THQ's, Saint's Row: The Third. I waited so long for this as did many fans of the series and then once I got my wanna be gangsta hands on it I was left saying, "What the f*#% did I just play?". Between the high flying airplane escape scenes, to zombies, (seriously guys, WTF?) and Gat's unemotional demise I was not only a tab bit disappointed and miffed, but also confused because there were times when I thought I was missing cutscenes that should have been there. Also aiding in the disappointment department was the utterly short and not worth caring about campaign and the missing of stores, activities, and personalization options with your character regarding clothes, piercings and tattoos. My only hope is that Volition and THQ take this step back and move two steps forward with the next Saint's Row. Modern Warfare 3 Campaign I was eager and extremely anxious to see how the current storyline in Modern Warfare was going to end up when Activision along with the multiple developers who worked on this title released Modern Warfare 3. Unfortunately I expected too much, because in roughly 3 hours this storyline ended and I could have cared less. Sure there was one huge moment when I felt a little tinge of sadness, but where was the intense and insane storyling that I come to love and expect from the Modern Warfare series? Well here's to hoping that with Modern Warfare 4 it is strictly handled by the hands over at Infinity Ward or else the other developers do their research a tad bit longer before releasing a disappointing campaign that uses the name, Modern Warfare. Out of the Box Updates and DLC There are several of you offenders out there this year and you better be listening. 2011 was the year for day one updates and DLC and I for one grew tired of it very fast. There are no amount of excuses that you can come up with to change my frown around. All we want to do on day one of a game release is buy the game, take off the fresh shiny wrapper, and play it. I for one do not want to have to sit there waiting for an update to install and then have day one DLC that I need to purchase, because you know...you "could not" fit it all in. Bull crap. I wish for 2012 to be a day one update and day one DLC free year, but sadly that is a "wish in one hand and poo in the other and see which one gets the fullest" thing. Sony Got Hacked....Say What?! Sony's lack luster response to being hacked in early 2011 lands them here. I do not think I need to say too much on this subject that was not already said, but note to Sony, next time your services are hacked and thousands of your customers private information is at stake, please be kind to let them know immediately. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Before I have rotten tomatos thrown at me for even mentioning Skyrim in the same sentence of disappointment, here me out. When the game first released there were texture issues on the Xbox 360 if the game was installed. Then let's not forget about the patch that broke the game and required another patch to fix it. Xbox Live TV Service/Apps Just when I thought I could finally ditch that lumpy cable box, because of Microsoft's Xbox Live TV service announcement I was sadly mistaken. While the lineup may sound great, the catches are not. To use Verizon FIOS or Xfinity you have to be a current customer of either and an additional fee will be added to your bill. Now how does that make sense? In Microsoft's mind it does, but unfortunately for those of us where either cable service isn't an option we are SOL and the ones that do have an account for either brand, why would they pay an extra $80 a month for something that they can watch on their TV without having to listen to their Xbox sound like it is going to kick the bucket soon? No thank you. So there you have it, my list of gaming disappointments for the year of 2011. Do you agree or do you have a list of your own gaming disappointments? Sound off on our forums with what you think are the biggest disappointments of 2011. Click here to view the article

  15. Today's Fail of the Day is being brought to you by the parents who choose to be uneducated about video games and the associates at a Best Buy who are just plain stupid. Naturally with Christmas comes lists for Santa that are filled with video game requests from little gamers all across the country. It should come as no surprise that Modern Warfare 3 is topping those lists this year. For one news website based in Virginia this "violent" video game is causing some parents concern, because they and what a shocker here, know nothing about it. According to WHSV.com, the mature rating is causing parents to be cautious and they decided to ask the gamer know it alls at a local Best Buy what they have been doing to deal with this mounting issue and one associate says, they have been keeping parents from buying the game. "A lot of times we are going to push them away from it. Just because they need to be over 17 years old. Just for the fact that there is going to be a lot of blood, violence and cursing in that game," states Richard LaBossiere who also said that occasionally people do get upset over hearing those cold hard facts. WHSV also asked Sallie Darling (no I'm not making that name up) who handles the Modern Warfare 3 merchandising in the area what her thoughts were and her response was, "It's always seemed ironic to me, with all the wars going on. That people would still like violent games, in particular war games,". So there you go folks. Ground breaking "advice" and opinions brought to you by the people who work at Best Buy, because apparently they know everything in the world about video games which is why they were chosen as the "go to guys" for advice. Parents listen up. If you want advice and have concern on a video game do some research yourself and pay attention to the ESRB ratings and use them as a guide. Do not walk up to a counter at of all places a Best Buy and address your concerns. Or quite simply, if you have concerns don't buy the game. You of all people know what your child can and cannot handle. Having somebody else tell you that you shouldn't buy that for someone you have been raising since they were born is like walking into a candy store and buying a peanut butter chew for another parent's kid who is allergic to peanut butter and of course you don't know that. Trust your parental instincts and everything will be fine if you decide to purchase Modern Warfare 3 or any other M rated game on your child's list this year. You do not need of all people Best Buy employees to tell you that. Click here to view the article

  17. During Microsoft's CES 2012 keynote speech, it was announced that Kinect for Windows will be launching on February 1st. Amazon currently has the PC Kinect device listed at a sale price of $249.99. The Kinect for Windows supports voice commands and hand gestures and features an improvement over the Xbox 360 Kinect version when it comes to how well the Kinect picks up movements at a closer level which is something many Kinect gamers have been complaining about with some games including the popular workout regime, Your Shape Fitness Evolved series. I myself am one of those complainers and can vouch for the issue with the recently release Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012. One has to wonder with Microsoft implementing Kinect into what seems to be all of their major brands, what exactly is the end game plan for this motion controlled device that made the Wii look like child's play? via TG Daily Click here to view the article
  18. It seems that Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier does not want to release. After originally being announced in 2009, the futuristic military third person shooter fell off the radar altogether, re-appeared, and then a week ago received a video that claimed it was releasing in March 2012. Ubisoft has again changed that date to May 22, 2012 in North America. Europe will be receiving it a couple days later on May 24th. Also announced is that the January mulitplayer beta has been pushed back until April and the might exist, oh wait cancelled in December, PC version has once again been given the green light and according to Ubisoft's press release will release at a later date. In Ghost Recon: Future Soldier gamers will take on the "future" of military warfare with things like active camo to make them invisible to the enemy and a highly customizable interface that allows for pre-testing in a simulated environment of weapons. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is also Kinect enabled and allows gamers to use their voice to customize their weapons and use their hand as if they were preparing to engage in combat in real life. via Joystiq and Ghost Recon: Future Solider wiki Click here to view the article

Reasons behind the delay were not revealed in the press release, however Take-Two stated Rockstar would give details later today. Take-Two also announced a net loss for the fiscal year. 21. EA has once again proven that being the bigger man is not in their vocabulary when it comes to dealing with their Origin's competition, Steam. On a post in the Bioware forums for the upcoming Mass Effect 3, Bioware states that the RPG will only be available on Origin "initially" and not Steam. Why do you ask? According to Bioware's Chris Priestly it's because of Steam's "restrictive terms of service". "During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content. We are intent on providing Mass Effect to players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play their game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers." 22. Comic book and video game nerds unite! DC Direct announced a new lineup of action figures based on 2009's hit Batman Arkham Asylum and 2011's followup, Batman Arkham City. These highly detailed and gorgeous action figures include Titan Joker who is due out in November and Killer Croc and Mr. Freeze who are both hitting retail shelves in June. Also announced were The Penguin, Batman, Clown Thug, Ra's al Ghul, and Azrael which are all releasing in September. via Game Informer Click here to view the article
  23. Falling into the ugly, "game gets DLC before releases" category, Namco has announced that next week's release Soulcalibur V, will be getting custom character creation packs to the tune of €1.99 or 160 Microsoft points each. The first pack will release on Soulcalibur's release day February 3rd, and include 9 customization options like bikinis, wings, and face paint and also original music from the very first Soulcalibur. On Valentine's Day, February 14th, Namco will be releasing 9 "fearsome" custom options that include a breast plate, kimono, and animal heads along with music from Soulcalibur II and Soulcalibur III. On February 28th, the last day of DLC releases you can get your hands on 9 more customization items that include masks, facepaint, and camo and music from Soulcalibur IV and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny. No American release date has been announced, so if you live in Europe have fun spending the extra dough and if you live here in the states, lucky us. via Joystiq Click here to view the article
  24. You silly Playstation 3 gamers. Just because you buy a Call of Duty Elite subscription does not mean that you get the DLC first, those only who have the Xbox 360 get if first. Confused? Activision's Dan Amrich took to his blog to explain why this is going on after PS3 gamers started complaining that they are receiving the DLC last. "Back in 2010, Activision and Microsoft entered a business deal to release DLC on Xbox 360 earlier than other platforms; this contract is valid through the year 2012. This business deal was very widely reported by the games media when the announcement was made at E3 in 2010, and the DLC releases for both Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops was released in accordance with that contract. All DLC for MW3 will follow the terms of that deal as well, because it’s still 2012. I wondered where people would have gotten that idea — had someone actually promised that, or said something at XP 2011 that I missed? — so I researched it. What I found was that you can’t prove the non-existence of something. I can find no evidence of “buy Elite, get PS3 DLC same time as 360″ ever being so much as suggested by any official source. It was never one of the things listed in the official benefits chart; it was never promised by any representative of Activision, Call of Duty, Elite, or its developers. Honestly? I think gamers just convinced themselves that it would happen because they wanted it to happen. That makes sense, but it doesn’t make it true. So…that’s where we are. The deal from 2010 is why DLC comes out on Xbox 360 first. I’m seeing people scream “rip-off” and stuff like that, but nobody’s going to get ripped off; every gamer will get everything they were promised and everything they paid for. It’s unfortunate that people assumed things about Elite that turned out to not be based in fact, but I hope the truth is clear now. Unpopular, I’m guessing, but clear." There's more to that blog post then just my little snippets, but let's be honest here. All that this comes down to is a bunch of whiny PS3 gamers who are complaining about spending extra money for a subscription to a game where the multiplayer is technically free? Did I sum that up right Mr. Amrich, because I think that's what you really wanted to say. via Dam Amrich Blog Click here to view the article
  25. Perhaps one of the most interesting rumors surrounding the still rumored and not confirmed next Xbox is a recent rumor that the next console will not allow the useage of used games. This nasty little rumor began on Kotaku when they cited their sources that claimed that whenever the Xbox 720 is released, the console will automatically say a big fat no when the user puts a used game into the tray. Before the subscribers of Gamefly and lovers of used games at Gamestop get their panties into a bunch, the Xbox 720 itself hasn't even been confirmed or mentioned by Microsoft, let alone this little rumor. So take a big deep breath and go back to playing. via IGN Click here to view the article
