Rofl. The illustrations made me laugh so hard I cried. www.justaplant.com/ “YOU’RE SMOKING MARIJUANA!” yelled out Jackie. Four men on the corner, taken by surprise, started laughing when they saw Jackie and her mother. “Excuse me, Miss,” said one of the men, “I call that la la la.” “And I,” said another, “call it ganja.” “I call it cannabis sativa,” said the third. “Oh?” said the fourth. “I call it... herb, reefer, muggles, sinsemilla, cheeba cheeba, and weee-” I. am. dying.

Fashion food To make it happen, farmers grew the melons in glass boxes and the fruit then naturally assumed the same shape. Today the cuboid watermelons are hand-picked and shipped all over Japan. But the fruit, on sale in a selection of department stores and upmarket supermarkets, appeals mainly to the wealthy and fashion-conscious of Tokyo and Osaka, Japan's two major cities. Each melon sells for 10,000 yen, equivalent to about $83. It is almost double, or even triple, that of a normal watermelon.

Now there's a mouthful. Built around 100-150 B.C., it was discovered off the Greek Island of Antikythera on an ancient shipwreck found by sponge divers at the dawn of the 20th century. Only recently have we had the technology to penetrate through the thick, rocky encrustation of coral and ocean bicarbonate deposited over the millennia without damaging it. Using 21st-century technology to peer beneath the surface of the encrusted gearwheels, stunned scientists say the so-called Antikythera Mechanism could predict the ballet of the Sun and Moon over decades and calculate a lunar anomaly that would bedevil Isaac Newton himself. -Cosmos Magazine 31 different moving gears wit…

How's this for an innovative startup: four African girls — the eldest of which is just fifteen years old — have worked together to invent a generator that's powered by urine. The group presented their creation at this year's Maker Faire Africa, and it's so freaking brilliant it makes me want travel back in time and punch 15-year-old me right in the solar plexus. The Next Web lays out how it works: Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which cracks the urea into nitrogen, water, and hydrogen. The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, which then gets pushed into the gas cylinder. The gas cylinder pushes hydrogen into a cylinder of liquid borax, which i…

Illinois State Senator Donne Trotter is charged with felony after allegedly trying to bring a handgun and bullets through security at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Cook County State's Attorney officials say Trotter is charged with attempt to board an aircraft with a weapon. Officials say a TSA agent discovered an unloaded .25 caliber pistol and clip with live rounds inside Trotter's garment bag around 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Trotter allegedly told security agents he worked the late shift at his security job and didn't realize the weapon and bullets were still in the bag. He was on his way to catch a flight to Washington, D.C. He remains in police custody and will a…

http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/04/22/futurama-not-renewed-comedy-central/ In my opinion the original 5 seasons are just as good than the best Simpsons seasons, but the movies were just merely okay, and the new episodes have also just been not bad. As much as I love the show, can't say I'm disappointed, better to end on a good run rather than going on forever and just being generally pretty bad like how the Simpsons have been for a long time now.

Nope, that headline is not a joke. The DIY Network, perhaps believing that there are not already enough Amish reality shows on TV, will debut a new series starring Vanilla Ice (also known as Carrollton-raised Robert van Winkle). Vanilla Ice Goes Amish will premiere on the network this year, the Associated Press reports. Vanilla Ice will live among an Amish community in Ohio, and learn about construction from Amish craftsmen. Which makes sense only if you were aware that Vanilla Ice already has a show on DIY about home renovation. Speaking of which, The Vanilla Ice Project will air its fourth (!) season this fall, the AP says http://popcultureblog.dallasnews.com/2013/0…

http://gawker.com/the-chilling-case-of-fat-longpig-the-cannibal-with-a-493196615 I want to cry after reading this article. Granted I don't know if he actually DID anything (other than distribute and look at child pornography which in itself is atrocious), but people like this who actually go THAT FAR in creating the scene where they will do the deeds need to be locked up and the key thrown away.... ...or hit in the head with a brick repeatedly. Preferably the second option. During the execution of the search warrant at PORTWAY’s residence, HSI agents also discovered a locked door in the basement of the residence. Inside the door was a sally port that led to …
