So, I just wanted to rant for a quick moment. I'm sure everyone has come across this at some point. I finally had a new trash service come up in my area and bought a years worth of service because it was half the cost I was paying my current company. Called my current company up today to cancel my service and of course I got the " what can we do to keep you" line. I mentioned that the price was twice as much as the new company for the same service. The guy replied, "well let me see what I can do for you" and offered to match the price. At this point I got kind of mad and told him that it's the freaking principal. If you're offering to match it now then I feel like you…

The lovely scent of cut grass is the reek of plant anguish: When attacked, plants release airborne chemical compounds. Now scientists say plants can use these compounds almost like language, notifying nearby creatures who can "rescue" them from insect attacks. A group of German scientists studying a wild tobacco plant noticed that the compounds it released - called green leaf volatiles or GLVs - were very specific. When the plants were infested by caterpillars, the plants released a distress GLV that attracted predatory bugs who like to eat the caterpillars in question. According to Science, where the researchers published their study today: They found that when these pl…

First one to answer, leaves their own "would you rather" question. Would you rather: As a man, wake up to find you have grown non-removable D cup breasts or that your testicles have disappeared? As a woman, wake up to find you have grown non-removable testicles or that your breasts have disappeared?

Did anybody do anything on April Fool's Day? I had to.....lol. I had a pregnancy test in the medicine cabinet so I used it and hid it from Jason. I'm totally not pregnant by the way, but you men don't know how to read them things. On Sunday Morning I came out of the bathroom with the stick and put my best "have I got a surprise for you" face on and told him I had to take a pregnancy test. The look on his face was priceless and I thought he was going to pass out. I yelled April Fools and he gave me a high five for doing a good one this year. We later called his mom and did the same thing to her and she started crying over the phone, lol.

A renowned Australian research scientist says a study from researchers at MIT claiming the world could suffer from a "global economic collapse" and "precipitous population decline" if people continue to consume the world's resources at the current pace is still on track, nearly 40 years after it was first produced. Most of the computer scenarios found population and economic growth continuing at a steady rate until about 2030. But without "drastic measures for environmental protection," the scenarios predict the likelihood of a population and economic crash. However, the study said "unlimited economic growth" is still possible if world governments enact policies and inves…

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (RNN) - An F/A-18D Hornet Navy fighter jet crashed into an apartment complex near Virginia Beach, VA, sending fuel and debris flying and erupting into flames. Both crew members - who ejected at the very last moment to avoid a nearby school - and five civilians on the ground are being treated at local hospitals. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. An eyewitness to the plane crash, George Pilkington, said that within two or 300 yards of where the plane crashed, the aircraft emptied its jet fuel, with its nose up, and crashed into a building at the Mayfair Mews Apartments. At least five buildings have been heavily damaged. AP is reporting the fire has…

Here’s something you can’t do with your Kindle; Snoop Dogg is set to put out a book of songs that is all set to recycle after you’re done reading it. Since it’s Snoop Dogg, I’ll give you one guess on the suggested recycling method of “Rolling Words”, a songbook that is set to be released as a promotion for Snoop’s line of rolling papers, “Kingsize Slim”. That’s right, after you’re done reading along to Snoop’s beautiful words, you can use the pages to roll up your favorite wacky tobacky: http://thenextweb.co...-songbook-video

So, I FINALLY won the battle with my new 680GTX and made my water block fit today. It didn't go as easy as I could have hoped. Had to do some modifications of the card to get the water block to fit. Pulled the 480GTX: Had to pull out all my bags of tricks: I thought these tabs were the only thing in the way. Ground them down: Installed everything. Looked and felt like everything was making contact: This wasn't the case. It must have had just a tiny gap. My temps were just about the same as on air. In other words. Complete failure. Back to the Dremel board: With a little, lot? more modification I made some clearance: This time I was confident that it was making ful…

When U.S. authorities shuttered sports-wagering site Bodog.com last week, it raised eyebrows across the net because the domain name was registered with a Canadian company, ostensibly putting it beyond the reach of the U.S. government. Working around that, the feds went directly to VeriSign, a U.S.-based internet backbone company that has the contract to manage the coveted .com and other “generic” top-level domains. EasyDNS, an internet infrastructure company, protested that the “ramifications of this are no less than chilling and every single organization branded or operating under .com, .net, .org, .biz etc. needs to ask themselves about their vulnerability to the whims …

A new bill up for a vote in Arizona could mandate that pregnancy be considered to have started up to two weeks before conception may have actually occurred. The nuance was introduced on the eighth page of H.B. 2036, a piece of legislation that seeks to modify the amount of time a woman has to legally get an abortion by using the woman’s last menstrual cycle as a means of defining the beginning of what is being called the “gestational age.” WTF ARIZONA? Get angry: here
