For the serious or semi-serious. Just don't go off the beaten path.

  2. Reinforcing the fact that Chris Dodd really does not get what's happening, and showing just how disgustingly corrupt the MPAA relationship is with politicians, Chris Dodd went on Fox News to explicitly threaten politicians who accept MPAA campaign donations that they'd better pass Hollywood's favorite legislation... or else: "Those who count on quote 'Hollywood' for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who's going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake," This certainly follows what many people…

  5. A bill introduced in the Oklahoma Legislature has some folks scratching their heads, as it prohibits "the manufacture or sale of food or products which use aborted human fetuses." Since the bill was introduced late last week by State Sen. Ralph Shortey, a Republican from Oklahoma City, corners of the Internet have been buzzing with the news, as people try to figure out two things: 1) is this real; and 2) is there any reason the bill might be needed? News of the bill was first reported by the AP and The Daily O'Collegian, a student newspaper at Oklahoma State University. It sparked a lively debate in the O'Collegian's readers' comments section, which is connected to Facebo…

  8. We at Gamercide had a chance to talk to the guys over at Nice Technology about their upcoming free to play MMO, Picaroon. It’s supposed to be a sort of semi-futuristic piratey MMO RTS, but isn’t as complicated as it sounds. Just read on to see what Nice Tech had to say. Q – Can you give us a brief history of Nice Technology? Nice Technology was formed in 2009 when it got together with Toby Simpson the developer of AliceServer the MMOG engine (unique, we believe, in having an agent based architecture) to develop the software further and self publish games made with it. Nice Technology has worked on two titles, one Tronji an MMOG for children developed for BBCW and Ra…

Okay .. so you know that I pull no punches when it comes to critiques, well now I guess it's pay back time. Over the past few weeks I have been taking an entry level course in Adobe Flash at SVA and our final project is to have an actual working website built entirely in Flash. And .. well .. here it is. I'm not a designer and I really hate web design but I need to have an online presence these days to help find a job. I wanted to keep it simple, basic and easy to navigate. It's more of a portal for what I want (and like) to do. I have some of my Stop Motion up, a few things with After Effects (mostly green screen removal) and some of my SPX Make Up. Plus two pages with n…

  15. It's widely being reported around the net now a few key details regarding Sony's next console. The successor to the PS3, code named "Orbis", is supposedly going to be running on advanced AMD architecture and graphics cards rather than Sony's proprietary Cell chip. This is good news because it will allow much greater integration with the PC market and would be much easier to program for (a problem many developers complained about with Cell). With a planned release of sometime in 2013, there is some key things that have me a little unsettled. One of them I can deal with, and the other one sucks. I can deal with the proposed idea of Sony absolutely 100% not caring about PS…

Say this phrase out loud please, “the ultimate fighting weapon”. Did you say it? If so, you can now be sued by the UFC! Ubisoft is feeling the wrath of the UFC’s parent company, Zuffa who feels that Ubisoft’s fighting game for the Kinect, “Fighter’s Uncaged” is “false association with the UFC and “deliberate” confusion in the mind of the consumer…” and is also tarnishing the UFC brand and causing them to lose money. So what did Ubisoft do that peeved off Zuffa? If you guessed used that phrase in their game that I asked you to say earlier, then you are correct. Fighter’s Uncaged asks gamers to become “the ultimate fighting weapon”. Apparently in Zuffa’s mind, the UFC …

Linkage Have you ever wondered what would happen if characters from your favorite games ever crossed paths with each other? The creative minds behind Beat Down Boogie have decided to provide us an answer to that very question. Hilarity, boobs, and plenty of action occur when Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 and Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series meet up. (I thought it was funny)

Everybody’s favorite bald headed, bar code branded hired hand is back and both Square Enix and IO have released new details regarding the long awaited and much anticipated entry into the Hitman series, Hitman: Absolution. “Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth.” – Tore Blystad, Director, Hitman: Absolution According to Square Enix and IO, a more darker and serious side of Agent 47 will be unleashed in the new game that begins with 47 being chased down by the police and both the movie that has a budget…
