The new Resident Evil 6 is getting frigging SLAMMED in the reviews today. I don't mean "Oooo, it got an 8 so it must be bad" sort of slammed which is the norm for supposed AAA titles. I'm talking like ~69 average on Metacritic, with "popular" sites like Joystiq and such giving it a 50/100. Even Gamespot gave it a 4.5. Yeah, the game sucks, and I knew it was going to happen. Call me a purist for the series if you want, but back when I was "reviewing" games I absolutely destroyed Resident Evil 5 when I wrote it up. I hated almost everything about it, I loathed the direction the series was taking, and I gave it an equally shitty score to reflect that sentiment. For a gen…

Microsoft filed for, and was approved, Patent #20120278904. What is this patent? It's titled "Content Distribution Regulation By Viewing User", and it wants to turn you Kinect against you. Short form is this. Your Kinect is a camera. Microsoft wants to be able to use that camera to be able to analyze how many people are present in your room, how old they are, and possibly other info to be able to take "remedial action" for whatever reason. I imagine this may be with the intention of good things, like say recognizing a 7 year old boy and not allowing them to watch the unrated version of Hot Tub Time Machine on Netflix, but the scope of description within the patent see…

Ladies and Gentlemen, the shitstorm surround the newly released The War Z is brewing, and personally this Panda is more outraged at the retard-monkeys-who-made-the-game (read: "developer") over their most recent comments than I am about the blatant lies posted on Steam for the game description. But let's start from the beginning shall we? I've never played Arma, nor it's popular zombie/survival mod DayZ, but I hear it's a "thing" lately. As it is with any popular flava-o-da-month you can bet your sweet little panda ass that there are going to be copycats (look at the literally double digit amounts of indie Minecraft clones on XBox's Marketplace). Enter Hammerpoint Inter…

Nolan Bushnell, the creator of Atari, recently came back to his old home. Today, he joins Atari's executive board. When Atari was on top of its game and making risky, borderline decisions... it was Bushnell behind it. He is the mad genius. Back in the early 70's, his warehouse would be visited by investors and the like. The one thing they all agreed upon, was that the place was scary. It smelled of marijuana, and the assembly line crew all had long, stringy hair. One executive, even found a few syringes on the bathroom floor. Why though? Because Bushnell would take any order, no matter how big. That often meant he had to hire people off of the streets. When Atari went so…

Privates is a twin-stick shooter/platformer that -- and we're quoting here -- follows "a teeny-tiny gang of condom-hatted marines as they delve into peoples' vaginas and bottoms and blast away at all manner of oozy, shouty monsters." Wha!? Really? LoL http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/11/zombie-cow-studios-new-game-privates-is-already-inside-you/

Earth as seen from Voyager 1 while on the edge of our solar system (approximately 3,762,136,324 miles from home). In the words of Carl Sagan (god rest his soul!): Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every …

So yeah, topic says it all. My favorite RTS on the 360 is completely broken due to a glitch that makes the game completely unfair. Basically it's a glitch that affects your economy (income). The game has two sources of income, Mass and Energy. You need to build these Mass Extractor structures on specific points on the map and you can build Energy Generators anywhere. You start the match making +2 Mass and +7 Energy without building anything. However, right at the beginning of the match you start with your main Commander (ACU) and 2 Engineers. Using the glitch, you can have an Engineer start to build a structure (doesn't matter which) and then select the other Enginee…

These days it seems like companies will do anything to squeeze a buck out of gamer’s already tight pockets. With limited edition console themed versions of video games releasing to answer every fanboys undying pleasure, it appears that video game themed consoles bundles are beginning to take the place of limited and special edition versions of video games. Are these overpriced bundled consoles swaying the gamer’s opinions to buy not only the game, but the console or more importantly are gamers even taking notice? “i stray away from them. after the novelty wore off, you’d be wanting for a classic look.” -MajorWhiteBoy Microsoft is one of those companies that tend to put…

Found this on Gizmodo. I find it highly amusing how some people banter back and forth and edit Wiki pages in a nonstop barrage of point/counterpoint. Some of them are stupid, like spellings of things like Sulfur/Sulphur, Aluminum/Aluminium, etc. Some of them are strange, asking questings like "Should a picture of an Anus be included on the source page? Male or Female? Hairless or "moderately hairy". I can't believe that over ten thousand edits have been made over Ann Coulter's birthday. Wow... LoL Enjoy!.

GameInformer Lara Croft, everybody’s favorite busty female heroine is about to go back in time to revisit her past. Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix issued a statement today regarding the entry into the famed series. “”Forget everything you knew about TOMB RAIDER, we are exploring things that have never been done before in this game, “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.” ~Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics For more information on the upcoming Lara Croft adventure, we will have to wait for January’s issue of GameInformer. via USA Today View the full article

Okay .. so you know that I pull no punches when it comes to critiques, well now I guess it's pay back time. Over the past few weeks I have been taking an entry level course in Adobe Flash at SVA and our final project is to have an actual working website built entirely in Flash. And .. well .. here it is. I'm not a designer and I really hate web design but I need to have an online presence these days to help find a job. I wanted to keep it simple, basic and easy to navigate. It's more of a portal for what I want (and like) to do. I have some of my Stop Motion up, a few things with After Effects (mostly green screen removal) and some of my SPX Make Up. Plus two pages with n…

Assassin Creed fans rejoice, because Ubisoft really loves you. Announced on Tuesday from Ubisoft’s camp is that the next DLC coming for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be absolutely free just like the last DLC, Animus Project Update 1.0 released on December 14. Animus Project Update 2.0 looks to be coming to a PS3 and Xbox 360 near you in January. Included in 2.0 is an addition to the multiplayer called, “Chest Capture”. In Chest Capture, two teams of 3 players will be defending or capturing treasure chests. Also included in the free DLC will be a Templar Score feature which according to Ubisoft is “reward diligent work by Abstergo recruits.” via GameSpot View the f…

Say this phrase out loud please, “the ultimate fighting weapon”. Did you say it? If so, you can now be sued by the UFC! Ubisoft is feeling the wrath of the UFC’s parent company, Zuffa who feels that Ubisoft’s fighting game for the Kinect, “Fighter’s Uncaged” is “false association with the UFC and “deliberate” confusion in the mind of the consumer…” and is also tarnishing the UFC brand and causing them to lose money. So what did Ubisoft do that peeved off Zuffa? If you guessed used that phrase in their game that I asked you to say earlier, then you are correct. Fighter’s Uncaged asks gamers to become “the ultimate fighting weapon”. Apparently in Zuffa’s mind, the UFC …
