Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 3 multiplayer will not have dedicated servers. A user on the Ubisoft Uplay forum posted a thread asking if Far Cry 3 will be having dedicated servers and Community Manager MSV-Vextor responded with a big firm no. Far Cry 3 is set to launch across the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 29th and the 30th overseas and on December 4th here in North America. via Ubisoft Forum Thread

Taking a cue from MTV's horrible show Punk'd which is aimed at "punking" celebrities that most of the world could give two shakes of a leprechaun's rear end about, Sony's Playstation is currently giving out free games, however you cannot play them. The glitch which seems to be centering around gamers that try to take advantage of the Playstation Plus extended free trial membership is allowing users to download trial versions of games, however it is recognizing you as purchasing the full game. Imagine your excitement as you are playing your new "free" game for about an hour and a notification pops up stating that you need to purchase the full game. There are also reported issues of users downloading the trail versions of games and wanting to purchase the full version, however the Playstation store does not allow it. In your Thursday edition of "I could give two shits about something containing Call of Duty in it", I present to you the latest rumor regarding 2013's release of the next installment in a series that others call unique and innovative, however I refer to it as a once great thing turned into a huge steaming cow patty. Siliconera is reporting that Activision is already recording voice overs for the 2013 release of the next Call of Duty which will continue the Modern Warfare story if you want to call it that after Modern Warfare 3. Supposedly there is also a flashback with the now dead "Soap" MacTavish. Anybody remember his death scene? Most un-climatic piece of story telling I have ever seen for someone that is considering a main character. If you care at all and are still reading this, then you should also know that some of the lines for the codename character "Ben Burke" have also been released; "Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!" Sounds thrilling doesn't it? Of course Activision has not confirmed anything, so this will remain a rumor until otherwise told.

Playstation 3 users have been barking up Activision and Treyarch's tree shortly after the release of Black Ops 2, due to growing issues of in game freezing and server problems. Keep in mind that the 2010 launch of the first Black Ops was also plagued with similar issues on the PS3. Gamers have been reporting repeated issues of freezing in both single player and multiplayer modes and also not being able to connect to a server when trying to play online. Activision has released a statement over Twitter stating that they are actively working on a fix to the growing number of complaints. So far there have been no reports of these issues with the Xbox 360 or PC versions of the game. via Call of Duty Black Ops Forum

Rockstar's Dan Houser released a major spoiler regarding their upcoming spring 2013 release of GTA V. Out of the three main stories that you play through, one of them is the antagonist. Houser made the statement during an interview with The New York Times when asked about the three character story line. Houser also said that Americans do not understand British culture from the 70's and 80's and that the GTA series has always been a British take on Americana. via NYT.

This tie caused a second poll to figure out who Gamercide's official picks for President and Vice President were. Yesterday, Mojang released the long awaited "Adventure" update for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. The features in the update include "Creative" mode which features an unlimited supply of blocks and allows the player to create the world that they want without the restraints of stop and go mining. New terrain, enemies, sprinting ability, villages and other inhabited areas, and also new in game items. What game are you currently playing? My gaming selection has been pretty limited for the past few years. I'm a rampant (read:addicted) League of Legends player as of right now. It's a MOBA clone of the original DotA from Warcraft 3. Little fun fact, it just became the most popular PC game in the world! Take that WoW players! Besides that, I basically just buy a few games here and there that look interesting. As of recent, I've played some I Am Alive, Bastion, Sleeping Dogs (surprisingly awesome), and have just started Alan Wake. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? I'd say the top 3 games I'm looking forward to most are the new Assasin's Creed game, BioShock Infinite, the standalone Day Z game. They all look amazing. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. If I could be anything, I'd want to be a teacher. What game are you currently playing? I just started playing Darksiders II last night after completing Torchlight II and the excellent Borderlands 2. Ask me that question every week and you'll get a different answer unless I'm stuck in a huge RPG, because I have an ungodly backlog (or queue if you want to use a different word) of games I bought on Steam. Around five hundred, almost all from sales and such, quite a few from bundles, so there are a lot of little ones I may never get to. I look forward to playing Dishonored next, then Max Payne 3. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? The biggest game I'm looking foward to would definitely be Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar makes great games, and I predict good times in free roam if we get back together like we did in Grand Theft Auto IV. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. Realistically an established author or some kind of game developer. I'd love to be able to create the media I enjoy. Unreasonably, an immortal/god/deity. Not that I believe in any of that, but that would take being able to create things to a whole new level. However, if humans are the ones capable of creating so much, from religions to civilizations, are they not the 'gods'? What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? I have a couple and nowadays prefer a good single player story (and streaming/livecasting it) or cooperative games over competitive multiplayer. But when I do play competitive multiplayer, I guess I'd have to say people who take the game way too seriously are a pet peeve of mine. The kind of people who start freaking out if their team isn't in the lead, and won't be happy unless they win. If you're not having fun, what's the point? When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? In terms of work, when I'm not gaming I work at Walmart doing Maintenance (cleaning), but may very soon switch to Truck Crew (unloading boxes from the trucks and pulling them onto the sales floor). In terms of other hobbies, I like to watch movies, watch anime, and read. I only really read when I'm away from home and electronics or I'd read a lot more, but I enjoy fiction, sci-fi or fantasy, classic or modern. One of my favorite series was Frank Herbert's Dune, but I also read very classic stuff like Journey to the West. I'm even considering trying to write something myself, having compiled some ideas I've come up with over time. You were chosen to direct a movie based on your favorite video game. What video game is the movie based on, who would you cast as the characters, and would you change anything? I'd make a massive budget Final Fantasy VI movie with Andy Serkis cast as Kefka. There are a lot of other characters to cast but I won't bother, and it won't matter anyways. With his acting skills and the source material, Serkis would steal the show anyways. It may have to end up as a mini-series to not bastardize the story into under two and a half hours. In an urban legend fight to the death, who would win: The Slender Man, Blood Mary, The Clown Statue, or The Killer in the Backseat? No one would win. Activision had to pull the multiplayer map Favela out of the map rotation after the finding of a painted portrait that appears in a bathroom in the map offended some in the Muslim community. The offending portrait features a painted tree and the words "Allah is beautiful" and "He loves beauty" inscribed around the frame of the portrait which happens to be situated above a toilet. Activision released a statement apologizing for the image and said that they are working on an update to remove the wording from the map. We apologise to anyone who found this image offensive. Please be assured we were unaware of this issue and that there was no intent to offend. We are working as quickly as possible to remove this image and any other similar ones we may find from our various game libraries. "We are urgently working to release a Title Update to remove the texture from Modern Warfare 3. We are also working to remove the texture from Modern Warfare 2 through a separate Title Update. Until the TU is ready, we have removed the Favela multiplayer map from online rotation. A UK newspaper out of Norfolk, England has blamed the Resident Evil series for a vicious murder that transpired back in May. Their reasoning behind the comparison of the murder and the zombie franchise is because the three murders who the media has dubbed the "Resident Evil Killers" tortured a 44 year old man to death by using a pool cue, burned his body with boiling water, slashed his body up, and then carved the letter "J" on the victim's face. A claw hammer and boning knife were among the weapons found at the scene. The trio of killers also mentioned the series while on the stand. The judge sentenced Ricky Roys; age 20, Andrew Brown; age 42, and Helen Cooke; age 19 to only 23 years in jail and said that the "alcohol fueled crime" was "sadistic" in nature that the disturbed individuals clearly had intent on the killing the 44 year old victim who suffered more than 104 cuts and different injuries on his body. The trio who appeared in court compared the murder to the Resident Evil series as they attempted to defend themselves on the stand. Upon hearing of their defense, the British media took to the "comparison" like flies buzzing around the anus of a cow who is preparing to shat in an open field. Apparently, I must have missed the gameplay somewhere in the survival/horror series where you violate someone with a pool cue, boil them in water, and carve their face up like it was a jack-o-lantern. On September 11th, Sony launched a lawsuit against Bridgestone and Wildcat Creek Inc. Actor Jerry Lambert who plays Sony's fake executive Kevin Butler in television commercials is the president of the one of the companies featured in the lawsuit; Wildcat Creek Inc. Sony is claiming that Bridgestone and Wildcat Creek Inc. are both in breach of contract over the Kevin Butler character who Sony believes is being used in another form of advertisement for Bridgestone tires. Yes, you read that correct. Cliff Bleszinkski has departed from Epic Games after 20 years with the company. Epic's CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed Bleszinkski's departure with a statement posted over at Epic. "In 20 wonderful years with Epic, Cliff Bleszinski has grown into a true design luminary, and his contributions to the ‘Unreal’ and ‘Gears’ series have helped shape the game industry into what it is today. Cliff leaves Epic with our gratitude for his many contributions, and our wishes for continued success in the next chapter of his life!” Bleszinksi has released his since released his own statement stating, "I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, and outside of my sabbatical last year, I have been going non-stop. I literally grew up in this business, as Mike likes to say. And now that I’m grown up, it’s time for a much needed break. I will miss the projects, the playtests, the debates, and most importantly, the people. Epic only hires the best of the best, and it has been a joy working with each and every one of you on a daily basis, whether you were hired weeks ago or decades ago. What game are you currently playing? I've been playing a couple of different ones...I've been playing some Skyrim, Lord of the Rings Online, and the xbox version of Settlers of Catan. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? I'm really looking forward to Bioshock Infinite. I really enjoyed playing the other two so I'm excited to see what they do with this one. Though, the pushing back of the date was a little disappointing. I also can't wait for Dishonored. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. Anything in the world? Probably an astronaut. When I was little I had a cat named Smokey and I used to imagine us going into space together and anytime a problem would arise Smokey would be the one to take care of it. Plus, it'd be nice to see space and be better at math. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? Kill stealing. It's frustrating. I don't usually play with others but when I do that's the one thing that gets me. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? When I'm not gaming...well, right now I'm packing the apartment to move. Other times I'm cleaning, crafting or painting, playing with my 3 cats, watching shows on netflix, or on the weekends working on the house my dad and I are fixing up. You find a genie lamp laying on the street. You rub the lamp and instead of seeing a genie, a rainbow colored zebra pops out and says that you have one wish and you better make it good. What do you wish for? My wish...to be able to live comfortably without a job for the rest of my life. Nintendo has made a disappointing announcement regarding their upcoming console, Wii U. The console will be region locked. Nintendo confirmed the news to Famitsu which was later translated by NeoGaf user Cheesmeister3k who translates gaming events in Japan on Twitter; "That can be played on the Wii U is restricted by a region-lock feature; software not sold in the same region cannot be played". This should really come as no surprise considering that the Wii and 3DS are also region locked.

What game are you currently playing? Currently I'm playing quite a few games including the recently released Borderlands 2, Madden 13 and Darksiders 2. When I'm on the PC I've been playing Mechwarrior Online and as well as the excellent World of Tanks. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? A new Mega Man. Screw you Capcom. I'm also looking forward to the new Castlevania games (including the new 3DS one). I'd also like to see a new Metroid on the Wii U eventually. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. I'd like to have money to be a philanthropist. It'd be cool to be independantly wealthy, not have to work and just spend all my monies on upgrading and building new stuff. Team killing, griefing, blocking me in a corner. Any of that stupid crap. To this day I still get into arguements on Live with this guy I've been gaming with for what seems like forever. We used to play Chromehounds and he would almost ALWAYS shoot out my legs or my tank treads in the beginning of the match to cripple me for no reason. Was funny at first but it gets old real fast. In my free time I enjoy reading, painting, playing guitar, golfing whenever I can and spending time outside. Just in time for the upcoming holidays, Sony has announced that they are adding new models to their Playstation 3 lineup. The new slimmer, much lighter versions of the Playstation 3 will come in three models; the 500 GB, 250 GB, and a 12 GB Flash Drive model. Sony has also confirmed their release dates of the new models. The 250 GB PS3 will release on September 25th and will cost $269. The 250 GB model comes with Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception Game of the Year Edition and bonus content for Dust 514. The 500 GB will release on October 25th at the price of $299 and will include a copy of Assassin's Creed III. Both of these models will come in charcoal gray and classic white colors. So far the 12 GB Flash Drive model has only received two release dates; one for September 27th in Australia and October 12th in Europe. No word on if or when that model will make it's way stateside. via Gamespot
