  1. Comedy Central has decided to grace us Xbox 360 users with another South Park game that is headed exclusively to the Xbox Live Arcade. Little details are known about the game other than it's exclusivity. Let's hope that it is not another tower defense game and is actually worth shelling out the dough for. via Joystiq Click here to view the article
  2. Resident Evil 6, meet boobies. Boobies, meet Resident Evil 6. Capcom has made a questionable decision with putting full fledge frontal nudity minus genitalia in their new entry into the long running Resident Evil horror series with Resident Evil 6. The nakedness has been introduced in the form of a female spider boss who according to CVG will straddle your character and caress her breasts all while you hear the words fuck and shit being yelled in the background. Before you even ask, yes that is Ada in the video and yes you get to play as her in the campaign. http://youtu.be/8PMPKYtI6W4 Click here to view the article
  3. Not sure who would want to play as the caped crusader's sidekick Robin, but if you happen to be a fan of the smaller partner then you might want to pre order the upcoming Batman: Arkham City from Best Buy. Best Buy announced that all pre orders that they receive for the highly anticipated and graphically gorgeous continuation of the Batman Arkham storyline for the PS3, 360, and PC will receive Robin who can be used a playable character in two challenge maps. Yes that is correct. The selling point is Robin for only two challenge maps. via Batman Arkham City UK and Best Buy Click here to view the article
  4. Are you groaning at the thought of what love dovey Nicholas Sparks movie your significant other is going to make you sit through this Valentine's Day? Fear not, my anti Valentine's Day gamers. I have compiled a list of video game love fests that ended so wrong and a tad bit bloody that it will no doubt put a smile on your face while your wife is sitting there sobbing over the latest letter in Dear John. Final Fantasy X - The Love That Could Never Be Cupid definitely had other plans for Final Fantasy X's pairing of pretty boy Tidus and mild mannered summoner Yuna. During Yuna's pilgrimmage to defeat Sin and free Spira from evil, she fell in love with protagonist Tidus who at the end of the game you find out has been brought to Yuna by the Fayth to help defeat Sin along with another FFX character, Auron. After Sin was defeated Tidus could finally be "sent" and allowed to live as a spirit with his father Jecht, Auron, and Yuna's father, Braska. In Tidus's final moments of being with Yuna he fades while giving her a hug and jumps into a fiery Farplane. Yuna is later seen standing on a bridge over looking the ocean whistling hoping that Tidus will answer, but unfortunately he never does. Final Fantasy X earns a 5 out of 5 broken hearts Silent Hill 2 - The Love That Is Worth Killing For James Sunderland was brought to the fog ridden town of Silent Hill after he received a mysterious letter from his deceased wife Mary. During his search for Mary, James comes across a stripper who is the very frisky, doppleganger version of his late wife who happens to be named, Maria. Maria who is killed several times throughout the game keeps coming back taunting James who is already being tormented by creepy nurses and of course series staple, Pyramid Head. As the game progresses and James thinks that he is closer to finding his beloved wife, gamers are treated to the twisted reality of the story. James killed his wife by smothering her with a pillow and created Maria in his head out of guilt thus explaining that Pyramid Head is James wish to be punished for killing his wife. Silent Hill 2 earns 4 out of 5 broken hearts The Darkness - The Love That Is Taken Humans are worthless cattle according the demonic powers The Darkness that control Jackie Estacado in 2007's hit The Darkness. The Darkness proved this to the Jackie as his girlfriend Jenny was kidnapped by evil police chief Eddie and don of the Franchetti crime family, Paulie who took Jenny back to the orphanage where Jackie and Jenny grew up. Jackie finds the threesome only to be held back by The Darkness powers as Eddie and Paulie murder Jenny right in front of his eyes. Jackie later commits suicide only to be brought back to embrace The Darkness and exact revenge on those responsible for Jenny's murder. The Darkness earns 3 out of 5 broken hearts Gears of War series - The Love That Became a Destiny Dom Santiago spent much of the Gears of War series looking for his beloved wife Maria who four years after E-Day, the day that they lost their two children Silvia and Benedicto disappeared and was never heard from again until the events of Gears of War 2 when Dom discovers that she was kidnapped by the Locust. When Dom who is accompanied by his good pal and partner Marcus discovers Maria trapped in a pod, it is too late. She was tortured beyond recoginition, but Dom ends up imagining that Maria appears how he last saw her. Dom snaps out of it after Marcus gives him a few minutes which utimately leads to Dom killing his wife to put her out of her misery. As time goes on and Maria's death takes a toll on Dom, Dom sacrifices himself in Gears of War 3 to save the others and is last seen yelling "I bet you never thought it would end like this Maria!" as he drove a truck into a fuel tank to kill the Lambent that were closing in around them. Gears of War earns 5 out of 5 broken hearts Dead Space - The Love That Would Not Die Engineer Isaac Clarke spent 12 horrific chapters in Dead Space searching for his love Nicole Brennan aboard the USG Ishimura not knowing that the 12 chapters spelled out, "Nicole is Dead". He discovers the video of Nicole giving herself a lethal injection causing her demise and eventually Isaac loses his mental well being and begins to see visions of Nicole throughout Dead Space 2. These visions and sightings of a disturbed version of Nicole eventually cause Isaac to have a needle pushed through his eye in one of the most gut wrenching and extremely intense scenes ever put into a video game. Isaac ends up destroying his Nicole vision and is rescued after he accepts his fate and tries to enter a permanent slumber. Dead Space earns 5 out of 5 broken hearts Red Dead Redemption - The Love That Led to Sacrifice In 1911, John Marston set out on a journey to get back to his wife and son. Portal earns 2 out of 5 broken hearts Final Fantasy VII - The Love That Was Cut Short In perhaps what was one of the most shocking scenes of it's time, young love was ended by the blade of a sword. Flower seller Aeris asked Cloud a young mercenary to be her bodyguard after she was worried about being captured. Aeris is eventually captured but rescued by Cloud and in a short amount of time the seeds of love begin to grow. Unfortunately for the two, Sephiroth who was hell bent on tormenting Cloud throughout FFVII has other plans and drives a blade right through the back of Aeris while she was praying at an alter with Cloud watching. Cloud ends up releasing Aeris's body back to the planet by taking her to a lake in the Forgotten City and having a water burial. Final Fantasy VII earns 3 out of 5 broken hearts Dante's Inferno - The Love That Faced The Ultimate Betrayal Dante's fiance Beatrice made a bet with Lucifer that Dante would remain faithful while he was away fighting during the crusades and in return he would make sure he arrived back home safely, however if he did not remain true to Beatrice, her soul belonged to Lucifer. 7. Remember that controversial video game dubbed Six Days in Fallujah that was being developed by Atomic Games and later dumped by publisher Konami in 2009? Rumor has it that Sony once considerd publishing the game that was based on the second battle during Operation Iraqi Freedom called "Operation Phantom Fury" which spanned six days, hence the title. The ever so outspoken David Jaffe sent a tweet over Twitter and revealed that Sony developer Allan Becker may have been behind Sony's possible involvement with the shooter that has been on the back burner for three years. "A few years back, Allan left Sony Santa Monica to take over Sony’s Japan Studio after a very, very successful run as the SM studio head. When he was at Santa Monica he spearheaded a lot of amazing games, including bringing Gran Turismo PS2 to America (along with sir Taku, of course), TM:BLACK, WAR OF THE MONSTERS, FLOW, FLOWER, JOURNEY, KINETICA, and the GOD OF WAR franchise. He also was the guy who funded and supported LA NOIR for a long time before that game left Sony and went to RockStar, along with SIX DAYS IN FALLUJAH..." Regardless of Sony's rumored involvement, IGN revealed in late 2010 that Six Days in Fallujah is finished and will be coming out despite Atomic Games having to get rid of most of their workforce the prior year. Six Days in Fallujah is the story about a squad of U.S. Marines from 3rd Battalion 1st Marines who were involved in the second battle of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The game was developed using stories from fellow Marines returning from combat and their likeliness for physical character details, historians, Iraqi civilians and insurgents, and military officials about the six day battle that took place in Fallujah. via David Jaffe Click here to view the article
  8. If you played Bethesda's 2006 mega hit Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion than you were no doubt disappointed when Bethesda released the first DLC item for the RPG, the Horse Armor. Bethesda wants you all to know that those days are behind them. In an interview with Aus Gamers, Bethesda's Todd Howard spoke about all things Bethesda including the next chapter in the Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim and mentions that DLC for the game will have an expansion like feel to it. Howard also explains that the team plans on letting gamers continue to play after beating the main storyline unlike their previous title, Fallout 3. So there you have my fellow Elder Scrolls junkies. No "DLC" horse armor and we can continue our gaming experience even after we beat the main story. That has this fan and I'm sure plenty of others mighty pleased. 9. Be sure to get your hands on the July issue of OXM. They are releasing some hot details thanks to 343 Industries on Halo 4 including an explanation of the "two" single player campaigns that mesh into not only co-op with your friends but also Master Chief's story. 343 Industries explains the Infinity in Halo 4 as a way for your own "persistent Spartan IV" who is on board the UNSC Infinity to feed into the main storyline spawning a "second campaign". How are they doing this you ask? After Halo 4 releases, 343 will be releasing four short CGI mini-episodes each week starring the four new Spartan IV's. Your Spartan IV's story can be played with your co-op friends online and your Spartan's path is in your hands. Your persistent Spartan IV will be available for use in free for all, co-op, team, and Infinity. Not only will you be making physical changes to your Spartan over the story, but also combat changes to aid your Spartan in battle. How much will all of this cost? Free, well sort of. If you buy the game new, it is free. If you buy it used, you also have to purchase an online pass. That's right, 343 Industries joined the online pass crowd. Halo 4 is releasing to very eager thumbs on November 6th, 2012. via StickSkills Click here to view the article

  11. On February 7th, the Playstation Network will be going under a cosmetic overhaul. The Playstation Network is being renamed to Sony Entertainment Network. Sony cites that it will easier for users to associate the Sony Playstation brand with all of the Sony's products. The name change will not affect current PSN account holders other than the "PSN" part. "The rebranding of PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts is a change in name only," explained Sony in an email to Eurogamer. "Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them." Sony will be issuing a new Terms of Service and User Agreement along with the name change from PSN to SEN. Declining the new terms much like any user agreement means you will not be able to access your SEN account. via Eurogamer Click here to view the article
  12. Fans of Final Fantasy might have said, "oh no" when Final Fantasy XIII-2 was announced last year, but that didn't stop Square Enix from continuing on with the followup to 2010's Final Fantasy XIII that found gamers following the story of Lightning as her life intertwined with other characters through the game. Recently at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Square announced a release date for Final Fantasy XIII-2 as January 31, 2012 here in the states, but also a Japan only Playstation 3 bundle that features Lightning herself on the console. So far fans of the series have not been to accepting of Final Fantasy XIII-2 considering the huge flop that was Final Fantasy X-2, so Square will have to wait and see what numbers are in their future for this part two continuation of Final Fantasy XIII. via Digital Trends Click here to view the article
  13. Developer: Ninja Bee Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios Platform: Xbox Live Arcade Release Date: Wednesday October 26, 2011 Genre: City Building Players: Single Player, Local Multiplayer Rating: ESRB E for Everyone Price: 320 Microsoft Points Distribution: Xbox Live Marketplace Little blue aliens are landing and invading your world in Ninja Bee's 2010 followup to A Kingdom of Keflings, A World of Keflings. These friendly, tiny, and so humorous bundles of joy are looking for you to help build them an alien friendly kingdom. Do you have what it takes to build a kingdom for aliens? Let's fire up that Xbox, hit play on A World of Keflings, and find out in our review of A World of Keflings: It Came From Outer Space DLC. After selecting a new save, you are whisked away to a planet type land where you are greeted by two friendly and extremely helpful faces from A World of Keflings. With their help, you quickly find out that these small pint sized creatures have crashed and need to get back home with your help of course. How is a giant avatar suppose to land a hand to something that is other worldly? By building them a kingdom! Nothing has changed with the easy peasy controls when it comes to crafting supplies and buildings. The land that you are given from the start is small and confining to work with providing a tiny bit of a challenge when it comes to placement of your new buildings, however it quickly opens up leaving you with room to build and place your robotic and alien style buildings that you will need to aid you in your kingdom building for your new friends. With each building that you craft and new resources thay you gain, the joke filled and hilarious story continues. Seriously, how awesome would it be to live on planet "Yurbut"? Better yet how many jokes can you crack (no pun intended) from that one word? It Came From Outer Space adds a few extra hours of addicting gameplay that is worth every point of the 320 Microsoft price tag. The story is not awkward unlike many of it's Xbox Live Marketplace downloadable content brothers and sisters where it seems like developers just make up some DLC, slap a price on it, and expect gamers to bow down at their feet. Instead what Ninja Bee did with It Came From Outer Space was kept the kefling humor alive and well, combined that with their secret ingredient of making hours of addicting gameplay, and then tossed in some old school movie references which if you happen to take notice to, makes the DLC all the more sweeter. In my final opinion, my kefling fix has been completed and Ninja Bee continues to deliver time and time again with their creative and unique take on the content that they create. Here is to hoping that Ninja Bee keeps making not only kefling games to fill my every kefling need, but also continues to grow and nurture their fresh ideas that this gaming industry needs. So please stop reading this review, head over to the either to the Xbox Live Marketplace, download this gem, It Came From Outer Space, and prepare to once again get sucked in to A World of Keflings which is brought to you by the creative minds at Ninja Bee. 15. Playstation 3 users have been barking up Activision and Treyarch's tree shortly after the release of Black Ops 2, due to growing issues of in game freezing and server problems. Keep in mind that the 2010 launch of the first Black Ops was also plagued with similar issues on the PS3. Gamers have been reporting repeated issues of freezing in both single player and multiplayer modes and also not being able to connect to a server when trying to play online. Activision has released a statement over Twitter stating that they are actively working on a fix to the growing number of complaints. 17. Master Chief's big return to your living room has hit a minor snag. The creative director behind Halo 4 has announced that he has left the buidling. Ryan Payton made the shocking announcement and broke news that he formed his own studio, Camouflaj. People were wondering why he would leave Microsoft and 343 Industries when he was working on one of the series that made the Xbox what it is today. "Some people say I'm crazy, but I want to make a game that one billion people play at once, and it's something that hits them harder than a great book or film." Payton furthered added that the Halo 4 he envisioned was not what Microsoft wanted. "The Halo I wanted to build was fundamentally different and I don't think I had built enough credibility to see such a crazy endeavor through." via Joystiq Click here to view the article

According to the Gamasutra who posted a link to the FCC document, this service will be a pay to watch television service and is rumored to be either "a cable, FIOS, or satellite company in the US." Hulu and Netflix are already offered on the current generation of consoles leading many to wonder how this rumor would impact the use of those services as well as what consoles would get this rumored pay to watch television service. via Gamasutra Click here to view the article
  19. The crazy train is speeding by on your Monday morning and your conductor for the day is Peter "reeks of nothing but creativity" Molyneux. Molyneux who departed Microsoft in March 2012 has never spoken about the reasons behind his departure until now. Well sort of. Molyneux recently admitted in an interview with european PC and indie game show Rezzie that one of the reasons he left Microsoft was because of a parody Twitter account that pokes fun at Molyneux's over excited nature, named Peter Molydeux. "...I tell you one thing: he's far funnier, far more daring and far more engaging than I will ever be. He just comes up with an endless supply of amazing and incredible ideas. And he's another reason why I left Microsoft. I have to tell you, he is. He was out there, and I was watching and laughing at his tweets probably harder than anyone. This guy, he can do all this stuff, he can be that free, he can explore these ideas like throwing babies into pits - you couldn't do that with the corporate PR machine at Microsoft," stated the real Molyneux during the interview. I believe there is a reason that you Mr. Molyneux are laughing at his tweets harder than anybody else. Seriously, who wants to throw a baby into a pit? I can kind of see why Microsoft's PR people slapped your hand to keep you quiet. via Eurogamer and Peter Molydeux Click here to view the article

The new slimmer, much lighter versions of the Playstation 3 will come in three models; the 500 GB, 250 GB, and a 12 GB Flash Drive model. 21. A viral video of a woman crying for help and saying that she would be safe indoors, photos of random towns across the world with "No Hope Left" spray painted everywhere, and biohazard symbols popping up along with a date of 19.01.12 which could be translated to January 19th, 2012 have all surfaced on NoHopeLeft.com leading many to believe that a Resident Evil 6 announcement could be coming soon. Of course all of this could mean any number of things, but the users at NeoGaf did a bit of undercover work and discovered that the No Hope Left website is registered to the same name that had ties to the upcoming new take on the horror series, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. As one user also points out there is an upcoming event in Japan for the 15th anniversary of the Resident Evil series that is happening on January 20th. Interestingly enough, the Resident Evil seriesis called Biohazard over in Japan which the mysterious website is big on plastering in photos. Without Capcom confirming anything this is all just speculation. This viral website could even be to promote the upcoming release of Resident Evil Revelations which is releasing for the DS on February 7th or maybe the zombie apocalpyse is actually happening and we all just need to stay inside. If you have a minute check out the website and let us know what you think. http://youtu.be/p3HsO0hZuUY via IGN Click here to view the article
  22. You be the judge Crystal Dynamics recently revealed that along with the rips, tears, and bruises of a much younger and inexperienced Lara Croft in their upcoming reboot Tomb Raider, Ms. Croft will also face an attempted rape. This statement was later clarified by Crystal Dynamics where they claimed their words were twisted by online gaming website Kotaku during the interview that has seemed to outrage fans of the series and the gaming population in general. So what's the big deal? Why can't a video game explore a more mature and vulnerable storyline involving a female that is usually strong and very dependent? Movies, novels, etc...seem to be able to get away with telling these stories, so what's wrong with a video game telling the same thing? Rape is something that is not to be taken lightly. It is a serious offense and can damage the victim for years to come. People are often afraid to speak about it or even mention the term which is one of the reasons that I believe that the idea of a video game character being in that situation seems so hard to grasp. After all video games are long considered to be a form of escape, a creative outlet, and gives the player the chance of playing out events that can otherwise send a person to jail. So do gamers really want to see an attempted rape. Probably not, but we are talking about something that can be done in other forms of entertainment without a single word being mouthed about how it shouldn't have been done. A fantastic case in point is the 2002 novel The Lovely Bones and the 2009 movie adaptation, The Lovely Bones where a young girl is lured by a disturbed man who rapes her, murders her, dismembers her body, and dumps the remains in a sinkhole. I'm not sure how many of you remember the critiques that came out by those that read that book and famed movie critiquers such as Robert Ebert seemed disappointed that the movie did not follow in the book's footsteps of showing the brutalization of the young girl. Excerpt from Roger Ebert on The Lovely Bones Wiki On the movie side of things, in 1999's hit Boys Don't Cry starring Hilary Swank as the main character who is a female leading the life of a male as a transgendered. Swank's character Brandon falls in love with Lana who returns his affections, however is heckled by two other men who cannot accept that Brandon has female genitalia. Both of the men end up beating, raping, and eventually murdering Brandon in front of Lana. Boys Don't Cry was hailed in the media for tackling tough subjects especially after the killing the openly gay Matthew Shepard. Boys Don't Cry ended up receiving 43 awards including Hilary Swank winning best actress at the Academy Awards. So what is with the double standard? Why do people gravitate towards movies and novels based on the same touchy subjects however when it's presented in a video game, people tend to back away from it? Or does the problem with the term rape being spoken about a female character in a game that you play as just spook everyone? Take Atomic Games, Six Days in Fallujah that Konami dropped out of publishing. Completely different subject matter, but again the same touchy subject involving the Iraq war. Why is it that the thought of playing these events out in a video game disgust people, but yet we can turn on the news and listen to the stories of the events that transpired that day or even watch a beheading or hanging over the internet? It's a double standard in the entertainment industry and one that I believe should be crossed. If Lara Croft's backstory includes an attempted rape, why can't the subject be in the game in a way that Crystal Dynamics would see fit? Knowing the full story to a character causes a person to root for them even more and in this case with Lara Croft where we are seeing her origins, why wouldn't you want to know what happened to Lara before she became the ass kicking, pistol toting, female badass that we know and love? The hackers vs. Sony battle continues as Sony's SVP and Chief Information Officer Philip Reitinger made a short announcement late yesterday evening stating that hackers were once again attempting to compromise Sony's Playstation Network and Entertainment Networks. Sony has temporarily disabled some accounts that may have been affected by the attempted hack. Whether or not you believe that the attacks came from another source other than Sony is up to you to decide, but at least this time Sony is giving their users the heads up instead of waiting for a few weeks to pass like they did during the huge Sony hack that took the Playstation Network and accounts down for weeks.
