What’s the story behind your gamertag?

When I started my Gamertag on XBL there was one name I wanted. Patton. Since the first time I logged onto the internet, my moniker was Patton, after Mike Patton. However, that wasn't available. While I was thinking of an alternative, I started to think of my grandmother. Whenever we'd go visit my grandparents, they'd always start up a game of Pinochle with my mother and uncle. That name always stuck with me. It sounded so strange and the spelling was weird. Anyways, the correct spelling wasn't available and I made the mistake of spelling it the way I did. Obviously, I have terrible aim and get urine on my hands whenever I use the bathroom. At least, that's what the young people on the internet tell me when they see my name.

What’s the story behind your gamertag

Well, back in the day when I was a wee lad, I used to go by xStArDoMx. Can you just feel the teenaged angst? The story behind it isn't very remarkable. I went through some old gamertags for clans with lots of x's and alternating caps back when I used to play Halo 2 on the OBox. Once I got a 360, I decided I needed something better. I originally just wanted Stardom but, alas, it was taken. So I used my awesome workaround skills and came up with xStArDoMx. I've since moved on to bigger and better names such as Nick. Other aliases I go by are FeversMirrors (based off of an album by Bright Eyes) and Taters (my Steam name if I remember correctly!).

My gamertag used to be AudaciousKevin from early 2007 onwards when I got my Xbox 360 and made an account. The suggestions all showed AdjectiveNoun so I made up a cool one with my name, emphasizing my carefree play style. I eventually got tired of having a fairly long name with an adjective in it and recently changed it to Kevnvek. I did a lot of Googling of variegations of my name to see what came up with the fewest results and eventually ended up on a cool rotatable pallindrome that's basically my name forwards and backwards with one 'n' and no 'i's.

The story behind my gamertag OceanicBones is from a poem I had written about seeing the ocean. It felt as if my bones were singing and so oceanic bones was born. Then, when I had gotten my XBL membership I couldn't think of anything else and just used that!

When I first signed up for XBox Live and created my account I had chosen the Panda avatar. It looked innocent and all but I imagined it was sinisterly disguised. This led to the signature I've always used for the past 8 years or so on the XBox Live forums, "My gamerpic is NOT a Panda. It is a thermonuclear device DISGUISED as a plush toy!". Seeing as I had a recent change in my gamertag after all this time I decided to roll with what I've always been, a ThermoNuclear Panda.

Well I use to be Dr. Japolty, which was a name I used when prank calling people. I used it for my gamer tag but everyone made fun of me because I spelled chipotle wrong. So I switched it to Slapajap, after a few weeks everyone was calling me a racist, even though I didn't mean Japanese, so I was listening to a song by Three Six Mafia, and I heard the word green grenades, thought it sounded good and used it.

I originally tried to get “Loch Ness Monster” because I needed about tree-fiddy but it was already taken. True story. After trying several other inappropriate words I just randomly picked the word stalker and it was unavailable so I added an “e” in the front. I have been surprised at how put off by my gamertag people are. I’ve met lots of other girls at conventions and when I give them my gamertag I’m always having to tell them that I’m not really creepy….. trust me, I’m not actually eStalking you THAT YOU KNOW OF

My first car I got in high school was a blue 1995 Buick Skylark. No I do not have the car anymore. Sold it when the head gasket started leaking. I have been asked interesting things about where I got the name from, but very few have ever thought of the car. One of the most bizarre answers that someone gave for my gamertag would have to be if it was from Chip Skylark on the Fairly Oddparents.

It's actually quite a complicated story. Bacon when I first got Xbox Live, I was bwler263, which is what most people here first knew me as. I soon outgrew that gamertag, and became CivilizedBacon. Yes, I do love bacon so I didn't hesitate in making that my tag. AFter a while with that as my gamertag, I was tired of having it as something so long, so I changed my name to Sabaid, which means fight is Scottish Gaelic. I was bored of that, so I finally switched to Bacon v3 a few years back. It's v3 because it's my 3rd iteration of my newer gamertags, and I kept around my love of bacon. I told you it was complicated.

1. What's the story behind your gamertag?

It's nothing heroic. Avahra has been my online identity since I was 12 ish. I used to do a lot of free form Roleplaying (not sexual,mind) and Avahra was my main character. She was awesome, and in her made up elven language her name meant "refusal." I like it so I take it with me. It's the name I use for pretty much everything online.
