The mystery deepens as EA continues to taunt Assassin’s Creed fans by releasing small images on Assassin’s Creed official Facebook page that flash symbols, numbers, and show what appears to Altair. The latest reveal which appeared yesterday shows fans an assassin that appears to look like Altair. When the image starts to turn fuzzy glimpes of a double headed eagle carrying a sword and shield appear making some wonder in the comment section of the Facebook page if this game will feature two assassins instead of just one. The first two reveals have also led gamers to question if the game will be set in Istanbul, why Ezio’s birthday appears in the second reveal, and if the…

Sony who had previously apologized to users for the Playstation Network and Sony Online Entertainment security breach is now playing the blame game and has turned their attention once again to the infamous “hacktivist” group, Anonymous. Yesterday, Sony called out Anonymous and said that they are to blame for the reason that the security breach happened, because Son’y defenses were down while dealing with previous attacks from Anonymous. Anonymous fired back at Sony in a press release for Congress stating that they had nothing to do with the credit card theft. “While we are a distributed and decentralized group, our ‘leadership’ does not condone credit card theft, We ar…

Last week, Sony detailed their “Welcome Back” package to PSN users who had their personal information stolen during the PSN attacks. While thus far this has included free PSN Plus and free downloads, they have upped the ante with a free year subscription to Debix, Inc’s AllClear ID Plus identity theft protection. Providing up to $1 million dollars in protection, this may help give some a piece of mind that even though their information was stolen, Sony is at least trying to ensure nefarious actions don’t take place with your information. The latest Sony blog gives these details of the program: Cyber monitoring and surveillance of the Internet to detect exposure of a…

“This is an action game in which players earn points for creating traffic pileups. From a top-down perspective, players initiate crashes by driving ‘cartoony’ vehicles (e.g., cars, trucks, vans, buses) into busy intersections; multiple crashes trigger score multipliers and rack up large ‘bills’ of property damage. Each level is accompanied by crashing sounds, small explosions, and vocal encouragement (e.g., ‘Cool,’ ‘Maximum Carnage!’). In some levels, players are instructed to crash into police cars (e.g., ‘Crash them before they bust you!’); in other sequences, oversized airplanes, tornados, lobster monsters, and UFOs slide across the screen, destroying any vehicles in t…

From http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20060227-260.html A group of hackers says it is planning another wave of cyberattacks against Sony in retaliation for its handling of the PlayStation Network breach. An observer of the Internet Relay Chat channel used by the hackers told CNET today that a third major attack is planned this weekend against Sony's Web site. The people involved plan to publicize all or some of the information they are able to copy from Sony's servers, which could include customer names, credit card numbers, and addresses, according to the source. The hackers claim they currently have access to some of Sony's servers. Should the planned attack succeed,…

Fans and newbies of Sid Meier’s long running RTS series, Civilization will be able to get their hands on the Facebook version of the game sometime this summer. In an interview with CNN regarding Civ World, Meier opened about what the social version of the game can do that playing over the PC cannot. “We really weren’t looking to make a quote-unquote ‘Facebook game’. We were looking at what does Facebook bring us that is unique, that we can leverage and take advantage of with ‘Civilization’-style game play. What was really intriguing to us was being able to emphasize cooperative game play, which was something that really hadn’t been a major part of ‘Civilization’ up to …

If the recent filings of an FCC document are correct than it appears that Fox Entertainment will be heading to video game consoles. According to the Gamasutra who posted a link to the FCC document, this service will be a pay to watch television service and is rumored to be either “a cable, FIOS, or satellite company in the US.” Hulu and Netflix are already offered on the current generation of consoles leading many to wonder how this rumor would impact the use of those services as well as what consoles would get this rumored pay to watch television service. via Gamasutra Tweet This Post View the full article

So, I'm gonna pop in my Halo 2 disc and play through the singleplayer a bit tonight. But, that's not what I'm here to discuss. What I am going to comment on, however, is the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack disc that I bought (I saw it when I was looking fr my Halo 2 disc and it got me thinking). I just checked dates on wikipedia and the disc was released on July 5th, 2005 (the full length game was released on November 9th of the previous year, so this was a rather lengthy and well thought out addition). What I also remember was the price of the disc. My brother bought it for $15. The disc came with 9 multiplayer maps as well as some documentary footage. And they were all kick…

So, this is a pretty cool read. It's detailed instructions on how to gut your Xbox 360 and PS3 and combine both of them into one PC tower case. Pretty damn cool consolidation of space. Incredibly long and not for the faint of heart, but if I was less lazy I'd try it. http://timofiend.blogspot.com/2011/09/hi-there-my-names-timofiend-or-tim-as.html

An international team of scientists said on Thursday they had recorded sub-atomic particles traveling faster than light -- a finding that could overturn one of Einstein's long-accepted fundamental laws of the universe. Antonio Ereditato, spokesman for the researchers, told Reuters that measurements taken over three years showed neutrinos pumped from CERN near Geneva to Gran Sasso in Italy had arrived 60 nanoseconds quicker than light would have done. "We have high confidence in our results. We have checked and rechecked for anything that could have distorted our measurements but we found nothing," he said. "We now want colleagues to check them independently." If confirmed…
