One of the most successful casual gaming companies in the industry is bringing a new slightly edgy studio into the mix. PopCap Games announced that their new studio "4th & Battery" will be situated in Seattle and that the name comes from where the studio is located. Jason Kapalka, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at PopCap Games says to "expect weirdness" from the new label that gives their designers free range. Finally the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V has arrived. Fans of GTA: San Andreas will be excited to hear that the fifth numbered installment of the series is returning to Los Santos. Microsoft has announced their Arcade Next promotion which will feature 4 unique games and see an increase from 200 to 400 gamerscore points and contain up to 30 achievements for Xbox Live Arcade games. Hopefully you do not have your Mass Effect 2 game saves floating around in a cloud save, because EA has confirmed that cloud saves will not carry over into Mass Effect 3. EA also stated that local save files that were moved between consoles using cloud saves will not work either. For those of you that have your Mass Effect 2 save files in a cloud save, you will have to import your save onto an original Xbox 360 hard drive and then transfer it manually to a new console with a USB cord or transfer cable. BloodRayne hasn't had the best track record. A couple of lackluster action games from the last console generation probably doesn't have many excited for this new iteration. The Skyrim Creation Kit has been officially released (installed via the tools menu in Steam) along with the introduction of the Steam Workshop for Skyrim. We all know it’s coming. EA even confirmed back in early November after Battlefield 3 released, that there will be a Battlefield 4. Now one gamer believes they may have caught a tiny easter egg regarding the next Battlefield while playing the mulitplayer. SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive has closed effecting close to 80 employees. Sony made the announcement over the weekend that they have decided to close Zipper Interactive and cited that “the closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.” Sony also stated that previous titles MAG, SOCOM 4, and Unit 13 will still receive support despite the studio being closed. Zipper Interactive was originally founded in 1995 and purchased by Sony in January 2006.
