Rare has tweeted the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft will be getting Jet Force Gemini skins that include Juno, Vela, and Lupus. The three classic character skins join a long list of character skins (over 45 to be more precise) for Skin Pack 2 including that precious tiny little cube of meat Super Meat Boy, Perfect Dark’s Joanna Dark, Gears of War: Judgement Day Baird, the Pretztail from Viva Pinata, and Bill from Left 4 Dead. Ryan Payton made the shocking announcement and broke news that he formed his own studio, Camouflaj. Ubisoft announced that there will be three different collector editions of their new native american assassin twist on the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed III. The Freedom Edition, Join or Die Edition, and Special Edition will be joining the regular priced standard edition of the game. Each of the special editions come with their own bells and whistles including in game content, special packaging, and little collectable trinkets. Was the upcoming release date of Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto V inadvertently given away by online retailer Walmart.com? The internet division of the retail giant from Bentonville Arkansas currently has an advertisement for GTA V on both XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 for which the shipping date is listed as December 31st, 2012. The release quarter originally given for the newest entry of Rockstar’s flagship series was Q4 of 2013. Quarter four of the fiscal year would put the release date between Jan 1st and March 30th 2013. A couple days ago, Nintendo made a shocking announcement that they are already dropping the price of the recently released Nintendo 3DS and that they are no longer turning a profit on the handheld. Do not call the upcoming Playstation 3 and Vita Final Fantasy X a “remake”, because Square’s Shinji Hashimoto will be the first to remind you that it is a “remaster”. Splinter Cell: Blacklist Homeland DLC is available today. Priced for $7.00, the Homeland DLC includes new maps, goggles, and an armor and stealth boost. The two co-op maps, The Dead Coast and Billionaire's Yacht were previously only available at launch in pre-orders and special editions, but now you can get your hands on them in the Homeland DLC. Double Fine is looking for the publishing rights for their 2005 hit Psychonauts that was previously published by Majesco. Double Fine’s Anna Kipnis jumped the gun early on Twitter by announcing that Double Fine now has the publishing rights to the Psychonauts brand. EA has aquired one of the most successful social and causal gaming companies in the video game industry, PopCap Games. Announced late in the day on July 12, EA paid around $650 million in cash for the company and gave $100 million in shares to certain PopCap shareholders. The aquisition is expected to close at the end of August. No news on what EA’s plans are for PopCap who is responsible for such hits as Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled, and Bookworm. Tom Clancy who lent his name to game series such as Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell and also co-founded Red Storm Entertainment has passed away in a hospital in Baltimore at the age of 66. Tom Clancy who was born in Baltimore, MD was best known for many of his military and crime fiction novels like The Sum of all Fears and The Hunt for Red October which was the first of his novels to be turned into a movie. Zen Studios has had a steady stream of new tables for their really great pinball simulator Pinball FX2.
