Batman: Arkham City Now Featuring Disappearing Save Files
How would you like to spend hours playing Batman: Arkham City and only needing to solve one more Riddler joke and then just like a cruel joke, your game save deletes itself? Many gamers are crying foul over at the Arkham City forums after their games saves have vanished from their Xbox 360 consoles after applying a recent update. It appears that it is only affecting the Xbox 360 version at this point in time. Warner Bros. has swooped into action and they are asking any gamer that is experiencing this issue to send them an email at support@wbgames.com and answer the following the questions so that they can get to the bottom of the mysterious game save deletions. What version of the XBOX 360 hardware are you are experiencing the "disappearing save files" issue on? What storage method are you using to save your Batman: Arkham City game files to (i.e. XBOX 360 hard drive, XBOX 360 memory unit, USB drive)? What version of the XBOX 360 system software do you have on your machine? Are you running a Beta version of the forthcoming XBOX 360 "Holiday 2011" system update? Have you experienced the "disappearing save files" issue before and/or after installing any Batman: Arkham City DLC content (If yes, please be specific as to the DLC content you have downloaded)? Have you experienced the "disappearing save files" issue before and/or after installing either of Batman: Arkham City's two title updates? Warner Bros. released a statement regarding the missing save files and they want gamers to know that they are working hard on finding where the error is happening and that they appreciate your understanding. via Batman: Arkham City Forums and Eurogamer

EA States That There Will Be a Battlefield 4
Thank you captain obvious! I am talking about the heads over at EA who have confirmed that there will be a Battlefield 4. EA's Frank Gibeau made the stunning and shocking announcement during an appearance at the University of California. "There is going to be a Battlefield 4." Phew. Now that has been announced I can go back to playing Call of Duty Black Ops which you just can't manage to pass. Ouch stings, doesn't it? via Eurogamer

Call of Duty Elite Available Now On Xbox 360
Even though this will do you absolutely no good until you physcially have a copy of Modern Warfare 3 inserted into your Xbox 360, Microsoft decided to allow you to download the free Call of Duty Elite service today via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Downloading the service and registering now will allow you to have a whopping two hours of double XP during the multiplayer. Then even those pesky Deathclaws won't be able to stand in your way! Author: starscream xox- Namco Tries to Cash In As Dark Souls Ships 1.5 Million Worldwide
Have you tried the insanely difficult and often maddening world of Namco Bandai's RPG, Dark Souls? If not, I can't say I blame you. I love insanely difficult games, however this is one I will not touch out of respect for my controller to ensure that it stays in one piece. If you have yet to try it, because you are debating on whether or not to torture yourself through grueling gameplay, then you will be happy to know that Namco has ensured that just about every gamer gets to play Dark Souls by making sure to ship 1.5 million units worldwide. So wait on my fellow gamers. Out of the those 1.5 million worldwide units, those of us here in the United States have received the majority of the shipment at 670,000 units. Compared to the amount that Asia received, 40,000, that is a pretty beefy number. Europe received 470,000 and Japan received 370,000 units where the game was published exclusively on the Playstation 3. via Andriasang- Trials Evolution Takes a "When It
RedLynx, the creators behind the ever so popular and madly addiciting arcade game Trials may have been aquired by Ubisoft this morning, however that is not stopping them from working on their continued relationship with Microsoft to get the next bone breaking Trials game out the door. However fans who have been waiting for an announcement on a release date for the next game in the must have series, Trials Evolution, might have to wait a bit longer, because it appears that Trials has fallen under the "when it's done" trap. RedLynx's Jason Bates announced shortly after the aquisition went public that the game will release whenever it is completed and that Ubisoft is respecting their prior responsbilities with Microsoft meaning that Trials Evolution will still be published under Microsoft, not their new owner Ubisoft. "What we've been holding to is the 'when it's done' approach. We are going to take the time to polish and test the game to the best of our ability before we release it, to ensure it matches the quality people have come to expect from a Trials game. We are looking forward to working with Ubisoft to ensure that Trials Evolution does get the attention it deserves when the game arrives. Ubisoft will respect the current commitments ... Microsoft is still the publisher of the title." via Joystiq- Sony's PS3 Sales Improve, Close to Catching Microsoft
In a surprising and not so scandalous news flash, Sony's Playstation 3 sales are finally catching up to Microsoft's sales of the Xbox 360. Sony released their financial reports for the Q2 fiscal year and show that the Playstation has moved 55.5 million units worldwide, just about catching and placing them in position to be on the verge of passing their rival console, the Xbox 360 which has moved 56.7 million units worldwide. It is nice to see something good coming out of Sony's camp instead of the usual hackfest that it seems has been haunting the brand since the beginning of the year. via MCV- [Review] - Puzzle Agent 2
After a brief little cutscene at the start of the game that has Nelson Tethers pondering about his past case, you are thrown into solving a small puzzle. Telltale Games couldn't call it Puzzle Agent 2 without there being puzzles after all. This puzzle is relatively easy. It is just a matter of moving around the circular bands and getting the symbols to not repeat themselves. This puzzle however is the only one you might enjoy. You are quickly thrown into repetitive and often lackluster puzzle solving of this point and click adventure that will make you wish that you had an actual puzzle in front of you to physcially solve with your own two hands, because it would make more sense and provide more entertainment. Some of the puzzles are difficult and will leave you scratching your head, but not for the reason you would expect or because of the difficulty considering the past level of difficulty in solving puzzles in the original Puzzle Agent. This was just sloppy and poor creative thinking on Telltale's part. Some of the puzzles do not have a direction that they point you in and you will find yourself either youtubing, chewing gum for hints, or looking for answers on Google, Bing, or whatever search engine you fancy. Now not all of Puzzle Agent 2 is dreadful. The unique art design by Graham Annable stays true to the first Puzzle Agent and continues the tradition of creative graphics that look more hand drawn instead of the highly detailed graphics that we have all become accustomed to, bringing in a breath of air to an otherwise dull puzzler. Nelson's story involving the mysterious teeny town of Scoggins also helps to add a bit of luster to the experience. However that luster is not a constant as sometimes I found myself clicking to advance the cutscenes just to get to the next puzzle. If you have the time and played the first Puzzle Agent, you should check out Puzzle Agent 2 just to see how the story unravels in the town of Scoggins. If not, then you can let this one stay on the shelf and app store.- Winner of Gamercide's Top Five Scariest Games You've Played

Boo Gamerciders! It is Halloween and we here at Gamercide are celebrating by sharing with you our top favorite scary games that we played since we could hold a controller in our tiny little bitty baby hands. Let the fright fest begin! spawn622 - Gamercide Writer/Reviewer and Gnome Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem "The overall story of the game doesn't really scare all that much, but having to always keep a check on your "Sanity Meter" really does bring a sense of dread to the game. Once it gets low enough camera angles will change, the volume of the game goes up and down, and other random things start to happen that really do screw with your mind. Ghosts and demon fighting is bad enough, but when a game starts screwing with your mind things can get downright creepy. This one needs a direct sequel or HD remake soon." Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly "Mio and Mayu don't have magical powers or weapons to battle the evil spirits in the village they stumble in to, the only way to fight the spirits is to use your trusty camera. There's nothing like seeing a spirit, whipping out your camera, and having a ghost show up right in your camera lens. Atmosphere, game play, graphics...EVERYTHING about this game is creepy. With 4 possible endings, (One added to the Xbox remake) things don't turn out well, every. Every game in the series is great, but this one stands out to me the most." PeeKnuckle - Gamercide Editor and Gnome The Suffering "It's part spooky creatures out to get you and part psychological brain twister. I recall one part of the game real vividly that really got to me; I reached a control room that allowed you to use the CCTV's that are setup around the jail you're locked down in. As I'm switching from camera to camera, I come across the one that is in the room I'm in. It's perspective is from behind me about 10 feet. It shows a creature walking up to my back from behind and it's definitely going to attack me. So, you frantically exit the camera mode to turn around. The creatures in the game are totally jacked up, too. From monsters with blades for limbs, to ones seemingly made from racks of guns and even ones with hypodermic needles for fingers. It may not hold up to today's standards of graphics, but they were good enough to freak you out when it was released." Chastity "Siren" - Gamercide Head Writer and Head Cheerleader Resident Evil "The first time I watched my father play this game I was freaked out. It probably did not help that I was a young pup either. I will never forget when he ran down the hall towards the beginning of the game and those dogs jumped through the glass. I shrieked, well like a little girl. Then when it was my turn to take over the controller and help solve the puzzles, I was too afraid to go through doors, because I always thought the dogs were going to come get me." Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem "This game was not scary as in monster scary, it was mind freakish scary. When I first played this on my Gamecube and my sanity meter started rising causing her to see things or the volume appeared to turned down, etc...I was actually thinking it was me. That game is a classic and needs to be remade or put on the Xbox Live Arcade." Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams "Pyramid Head and deranged nurses. 'Nuff said." AudaciousKevin - Gamercide Reviewer "Well, I'm pretty desensitized and don't find much truly scary, so the only thing that really gets me are the cheap scares. The ones where you're just doing your thing and not expecting a fight, then a REALLY loud noise happens and you are suddenly under attack lol. So I'd say Dead Space, and to a lesser extent Dead Space 2, are good contenders. Dead Space is a very atmospheric game, especially when played with surround sound. All kinds of deformed beasties await your arrival so they can tear you to shreds. No joke, the only time I really jumped a little, was when a fire sprinkler suddenly activated at over nine thousand decibels (aided by an orchestral horror sound cue, of course) in Dead Space 2. " Dateranoth - Gamercide Reviewer and Quiet Gnome "I haven't finished the game because I haven't really started it. Honestly a lot of games scare me (unlike movies) because I get so engrossed that it feels real. Amnesia is one of those games that just the atmosphere freaks me out. I would say it is at the top of my list as scariest newer game. Doesn't help that you can't really do anything but run when something is after you. It's sad really because games like that are fun, and I rarely finish them. I end up having to stop and take breaks so often that it's sad. Either that or play without sound. Great sounds make a great horror game. Guess I get too in character with my games." Title - Gamercide Reviewer "I don't play scary games because I get scared , but I'll throw in these two. F.E.A.R: First Encounter Assault Recon There is something about small children that really gets under my skin. When the HUD starts to flicker, you know something is coming. Alma always seems to show up at just the right moment, in the corner of your eye, a shadow on the wall, footsteps and laughter. All this keeps you anticipating when she might appear next. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat While not a horror game in the truest sense, the atmosphere in Call of Pripyat is neck deep. Trekking through an abandoned city, 5 bullets left in your assault rifle, hoping you can make it to camp. Or a race against time to survive an emission, when radioactivity floods through the Zone. Taking cover in a nearby bunker only to crawl into a dark corner and listen to the sounds of beast moving around in the blackness is a great experience. " There you have it. The top list of games that made us here on the Gamercide staff sleep with one eye open. Happy Haunting!- [Review] - A World of Keflings - It Came From Outer Space DLC
After selecting a new save, you are whisked away to a planet type land where you are greeted by two friendly and extremely helpful faces from A World of Keflings. With their help, you quickly find out that these small pint sized creatures have crashed and need to get back home with your help of course. How is a giant avatar suppose to land a hand to something that is other worldly? By building them a kingdom! Nothing has changed with the easy peasy controls when it comes to crafting supplies and buildings. The land that you are given from the start is small and confining to work with providing a tiny bit of a challenge when it comes to placement of your new buildings, however it quickly opens up leaving you with room to build and place your robotic and alien style buildings that you will need to aid you in your kingdom building for your new friends. With each building that you craft and new resources thay you gain, the joke filled and hilarious story continues. Seriously, how awesome would it be to live on planet "Yurbut"? Better yet how many jokes can you crack (no pun intended) from that one word? It Came From Outer Space adds a few extra hours of addicting gameplay that is worth every point of the 320 Microsoft price tag. The story is not awkward unlike many of it's Xbox Live Marketplace downloadable content brothers and sisters where it seems like developers just make up some DLC, slap a price on it, and expect gamers to bow down at their feet. Instead what Ninja Bee did with It Came From Outer Space was kept the kefling humor alive and well, combined that with their secret ingredient of making hours of addicting gameplay, and then tossed in some old school movie references which if you happen to take notice to, makes the DLC all the more sweeter. In my final opinion, my kefling fix has been completed and Ninja Bee continues to deliver time and time again with their creative and unique take on the content that they create. Here is to hoping that Ninja Bee keeps making not only kefling games to fill my every kefling need, but also continues to grow and nurture their fresh ideas that this gaming industry needs. So please stop reading this review, head over to the either to the Xbox Live Marketplace, download this gem, It Came From Outer Space, and prepare to once again get sucked in to A World of Keflings which is brought to you by the creative minds at Ninja Bee.- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC Requirements Released

Blizzard has announced that players of their massive time consuming and ever so popular PC game, World of Warcraft will receive the upcoming Diablo 3 free. Of course there is a teeny tiny catch. In order to get Diablo 3 for free you must purchase their new annual pass and adhere to a few other minor commitments to Blizzard. The World of Warcraft annual pass can be paid in monthly installements just like a month to month subscription however where it differs is that you get Diablo 3 for free, the in game mount Tyrael's Charger, and guaranteed access into World of Warcraft expansion beta. If you are jumping for joy right about now, slow down there. You must have an account that is in good standing and created before October 18th and also be willing to commit to a one year subscription without unsubscribing. If you do not complete the one year term, you will lose everything that comes with the limited time only WoW annual pass. That means, Diablo 3 for those of you that need that spelled out. After your 12 month subscription is over and if you choose to cancel after that time period, you still get to keep Diablo 3. Also announced on the Diablo 3 end of the spectrum is the CE edition that comes with: 4 GB USB drive that is a replica of a soulstone and a Diablo skull base Full versions of Diablo II and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Behind the scenes Blu-Ray/DVD Set 208 page art book Diablo 3 soundtrack Exclusive in game content Blizzard did not comment on release date or price. via Techspot, Blizzard, and Blizzard Annual Pass Info- Battlefield 3 Will Have Day One Out of the Box Update
Talk about embarassing. EA has announced that Battlefield 3 will have a day one update that gamers will be required to install in order to play the game and that all media reviews of the shooter be held off until a week after it's release. EA has also added that Xbox 360 gamers will have to download the game to their hard drive in order to see the graphics at their best representation. What is EA's reasoning behind the day one update? DICE are perfectionists of course! “DICE are perfectionists — they will not stop polishing the game until it is in your hands” claimed EA. Why yes, gamers across the board will accept that giberish especially after the horrible, cheat filled beta preview for Battlefield 3 which happens to be less than a week away from it's launch. EA must think we are stupid mindless drones with controllers in our hands. Sorry EA and DICE. This girl will be ponying up for Modern Warfare 3 instead. Ouch! via Wolf's Gaming Blog- Sources Claim Next Xbox Will Be at E3 2012 and that the PS4 is in Development
Are you still in denial about the next Xbox being in development? Many gamers are even after the job title changings of many of the Xbox staff to reflect working on the next Xbox. What about if I told you that sources close to Xbox believe that the new Xbox will be at E3 2012 and they even go on further to say that a late 2013 or 2014 launch is in the horizon? Sources are claiming that both Microsoft and their partners are gearing up for a late 2013 to 2014 launch of the next generation Xbox. The sources of this information range from chip manufacturers to middleware firms. Online game design website Develop even came up with a few possible hints of what some people in the industry are referring to as "Xbox Next". "* Develop understands that Lionhead is working on a project internally named ‘Fable Next’, which will launch on the new console. * Epic Games’ new Unreal Engine would likely be available sooner than the 2014 date recently given by studio founder Tim Sweeney. * One source still insists that an EA studio already has rudimentary Xbox console technology on desks. EA has flatly denied the claim." Develop is also making a claim that the Playstation 4 is reportedly in development citing very early game builds are being produced. Does all of this news mean we could getting ready for a console within the next year? via Develop- X-Men Coming to Marvel Pinball This December

To say that the Xbox Live Arcade 2005 release, Bejeweled 2 was a hit is a huge under statement. The game's addicting modes had gamers playing for hours at a time, not only on the Xbox 360, but across consoles, on PC's, and the internet. After the release, fans of the puzzler have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on Bejeweled 3. Today, PopCap has announced that Bejeweled 3 has launched on the Xbox Live Arcade for the price of 1200 MS points. Bejewled 3 will also be available for purchase in a retail store near you for the Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, and Xbox 360 on November 15th. Go download Bejeweled 3 for the XBLA today! I know I am.- A World of Keflings DLC Gets Release Date and Price
Last week the brillant minds at Ninja Bee which happen to be behind one of the Xbox Live Arcade's most addicting games A World of Keflings, announced that new alien-friendly downloadable content would be arriving soon. Details were a tad bit fuzzy at the time regarding a release date and price, however my fellow kefling addicts can calm down now because Ninja Bee has released the details. On October 25th , the It Came From Outer Space DLC will release on the Xbox Live Marketplace for a tiny lumpsum of 320 points. Not too shabby considering that the content will add anywhere between two to four hours of gameplay and increase the game's total content to 30%. It Came From Outer Space will also feature new buildings, characters, and of course a new kingdom for you to build up your little green alien, friendly town.- Battlefield 3's Multiplayer maps revealed
In the upcoming Battlefield 3, there will be nine multiplayer maps. These maps are the ones 'that combined bring out everything we want both veteran and new Battlefield players to experience in Battlefield 3 multiplayer' says DICE's David McDonagh. So here is the list and names of the maps you can expect to run, duck, and drive in on Oct. 25th. Caspian Border This map is one of the few that is 'lush and green' and is supposed to be an obvious choice for players who want to play with vehicles. This is a large map where base distances are usually too long to cover just on foot, so vehicles will play a major part in this map. Damavand Peak This map takes place on a mountain ridge above a mining facility, and features the most extreme height differences ever in a Battlefield map. Because of the extreme change in terrain as you progress in the map, vehicles will come in handy on this map as well. Grand Bazaar A close quarter map where you can get up close and personal with your foes, this map is set in the urban center of Tehran. Kharg Island Set in the Persian sea, you will be able to use boat gameplay to help beat your foes in this map. Noshahar Canals This is an industrial harbor, and the canals will have a mix of infantry, land vehicle, and boat gameplay. It is a smaller map than most of the others with vehicle gameplay, so there will be some tight combat moments for sure on this map. Operation Firestorm This is one of the largest maps in the game, and it will offer many possibilities for infantry to hide and spot vehicles, and then take them out with an RPG or mortar strike. Operation Metro This is a map everyone who played the beta will be familiar with. It has constantly changing areas that keep you on your toes and is good for those that can adapt to new classes and loadouts quickly. Seine Crossing This map features and bank building, and has one of the largest indoor environments in the game. It will allow infantry to sneak through tight alleyways and staircases to surprise the opposing team. Tehran Highway This map is a nighttime map. It is balanced for infantry and vehicles, and starts in a larger, open area and ends in a much tighter urban area. Written By: starscream- Insomniac Responds to Resistance 3
What's a developer to do when their third installment of their popular series, Resistance sells rather poorly in the United States? Go on the defensive of course. Insomniac Game's Resistance 3 was not as huge of a hit as they might have hoped here in the United States. The followup to 2008's hit Resistance 2, only managed to sell a meger 180,00 copies during it's first month release compared to Resistance 2 which sold 385,000. GamersMint who posted an article detailing their let down first month sales, compared Resistance 3's sales to Dead Island's first month sales which released on the same day. Dead Island happened to move over 2 million copies. So what did Insomniac have to say about Resistance 3's low sales. "Comparing Resistance 3′s sell-through number on one platform to Dead Island’s copies shipped number on 3 platforms isn’t really an Apples to Apples comparison." stated CM James Steveson. Okay I can see that. Let's compare Playstation's exclusive Resistance 3 to another popular shooter that just so happens to be an exclusive to the Xbox 360, Gears of War 3. Gears of War 3 moved 3 million copies. 'Nuff said, right? Nope, not according to Insomniac. Insomniac later responded to a twitter post by a fan who said they were sorry to hear of the sales numbers by saying "What bad news?" and followed another question up with "oh, no, the numbers are accurate, but that was still good enough for #7 on the US charts". Here's to hoping that Insomniac will have some better luck with Ratchet and Clank which is releasing this week and maybe learn some better marketing techniques to boost those sales of a supposed AAA shooter. http://youtu.be/bFWKWICUOXUvia Gamersmint - Saints Row: The Third Surpasses Saints Row 2 By Four Times The Number of Pre Orders
