  1. We all know it's coming. EA even confirmed back in early November after Battlefield 3 released, that there will be a Battlefield 4. Now one gamer believes they may have caught a tiny easter egg regarding the next Battlefield while playing the mulitplayer. During a multiplayer round on the Battlefield 3 multiplayer map, Wake Island one gamer caught the numbers "2143" inscribed on a wall. Could this point to a game following the futuristic ice age set Battlefield 2142 that never made it to consoles? Take a look for yourself. via Eurogamer
  2. Want to visit DICE in Stockholm, Sweden and gush about how much you are insanely addicted to the intense and sometimes maddening multiplayer in their recently released Battlefield 3? Now is your chance, because DICE has announced a new Battlefield 3 Community Challenge, "Only In Battlefield 3" and the winner gets a paid trip to visit the team behind Battlefield 3. All you have to do is upload your "Only in Battlefield 3" moment to Youtube before January 23, 2012 and email a link to vidcomp@dice.se . That's correct, each winner can bring along another to accompany them during the trip. http://youtu.be/B2sXWsIMSvMFor more information regarding the "Only In Battlefield" challenge vist the official Battlefield website. via Battlefield 3

And a great villain really helps to bring a good story together, the likes of which you'd find in a Final Fantasy game. Kefka Palazzo is the most bats**t insane villain of the entire series, and hence the most badass. A small PVC tribute to the craziest, most evil clown around, second perhaps only to The Joker himself, would look lovely on my shelf." Dateranoth - "ASRock Vision 3D Home Theatre PC." Title - "I'd love to receive a fancy mouse pad, something nice and smooth to stop my mouse getting stuck." Nemhy - "I'm starting to really get back into fighting games. Been researching frame data and different matchup tips for a variety of fighters. I would do crazy things for a Madcatz Tournament Edition Fightstick. (ps3) Siren - "Can Santa give me something that is not motion controlled, doesn't have anything to do with Modern Warfare, and is totally original, bloody, and not your average video game?" spawn622 - "Talking Cave Johnson Portrait and Portal 2 Warning Sign Coasters. For long gaming nights, Whiskey Stones and for the following morning, Self Stirring Mug."

What? No Sazh?! That's right, there is a rumor swirling about that we might not see one of the more popular figures from Final Fantasy XIII. Details from a Japanese magazine, Dengeki Playstation include news that Sazh won't be appearing in the new Final Fantasy XIII-2. However, the magazine does say that according to a Square-Enix representative, "Final Fantazy XIII-2 will continue after the release, so look forward to later on." Could it be that Sazh will be in future DLC for the game? I for one hope this rumor turns out to be false and that Sazh will be in the entire game. But DLC sounds exciting either way! I will update when I learn more info on this rumor. Written By: starscream xox via Shack News

  7. The Darkness 2's "Vendettas" four player co-op has been detailed by 2K Games. The campaign co-op mode features four characters who are all wielding weapons that harness the power of The Darkness. Each character is unique in their own background including the mentally unstable and out for revenge Inugami, the evil destroying seeker Shoshanna, a notorious alcoholic Jimmy who can summon Darklings that he refers to as "Little Jimmy's", and there is J.P., an ex doctor who once used voodoo to heal patients and is now carrying around a sense of guilt. All of these characters are joined for one reason, to bring down The Brotherhood. http://youtu.be/r_x4fW-B8fwvia Game Hunters on USA Today
  8. The winter 2011 dashboard update has been slightly delayed according to Major Nelson in a tweet over Twitter. No word as to why, but Major Nelson said he will provide a "status update" later today. When the update does roll out, gamers will take notice to the sleek and organized physical overhaul of the dashboard, but also the lack of some apps. Major Nelson has released the dates of when those missing apps will start flooding the app marketplace globally. "Dec. 6: • EPIX. United States • ESPN on Xbox LIVE (ESPN). United States • Hulu. 10. UFC fans will have to wait to watch UFC fights on their Xbox 360 until December 20, because Microsoft announced that the app has been delayed. The UFC app which was suppose to arrive on the Xbox 360 today allows gamers to watch fights, stream in HD, watch the interactive fight card, and of course purchase pay per views all while using Kinect. Microsoft did not say why the delay happened, but at least it will be available for the next pay per view fight. via Gaming Blend
  11. Is it or isn't it? That seems to be the question regarding the rampent rumors of an upcoming BioShock movie. Regardless of when or if that rumor will be confirmed, fans have taken to Youtube to post their fan made trailers for what they would like to see as a BioShock movie. One trailer in particular stands out above the rest and the interwebs have taken notice. Maybe Hollywood will too. http://youtu.be/qRa-78twi3svia Joystiq and
  12. Those of you who have yet to install Bethesda's recent patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on your Xbox 360 might want to wait. Gamers have flocked to the Skyrim forums and are expressing their outrage after many have discovered their game is just about unplayable after installing the update. Patch 1.2 went live yesterday and since then gamers have been complaining of bugs, quests not advancing, dragons still flying backwards, spells not working, not being able to play saved games, and the list goes on. One gamer on the forums stated, "it was working fine for me before the 1.2 patch" and another titled their thread, "Thank you bethesda" where they expressed their thanks for breaking the game. Bethesda has yet to comment on any of the gamers complaints regarding the issues they have been having since installing the update. via GameZone and Skyrim Forums
  13. How does 26 Verizon Fios channels on the Xbox 360 sound for starting at $89.99 a month? What if I add that they are throwing in a free one year Gold subscription of Xbox Live and a free copy of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary? Didn't think so. Microsoft announced those details in a brief explanation of how the Verizon services will tie into their upcoming Xbox Live TV service. Unfortunately the details are disappointing. Besides the 26 channels and the high prices, this offer is only available to customers who use Verizon Fios internet and TV services and the 26 channels will be based on the "customer's TV package". The unnamed channels will be Kinect enabled meaning everything can be controlled using voice and hand movements. via IGN
  14. In a rather questionable and unexplainable move, Square Enix has decided to put the legendary assassin from Assassin's Creed, Ezio Auditore into their upcoming sequel to Final Fantasy Xlll, Final Fantasy Xlll-2 with Ubisoft's approval of course. Square Enix and Ubisoft made the announcement in a joint press release stating that the assassin's costume from Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be an available option to Final Fantasy Xlll-2's main character, Noel Kreiss. This downloadable costume comes at a price, however Square Enix did not share the details. via Joystiq
  15. Citing a development source from Microsoft, Eurogamer is reporting that the next Kinect will be so accurate that it will be able to read lips. If that turns out to be true, it could not only be a huge improvement on the motion sensing device itself, but also a plus for gamers who are physically disabled and need to utilize more voice commands. According to the source, "Kinect 2 will be so powerful it will enable games to lip read, detect when players are angry, and determine in which direction they are facing." The source is also claiming that it will be able to send more information to the next gen Xbox. " It can be cabled straight through on any number of technologies that just take phenomenally high res data straight to the main processor and straight to the main RAM and ask, what do you want to do with it?" With rumors of the next Xbox debuting next year and launching holiday season 2013, could the Kinect 2 be releasing along side of it? via Eurogamer
  16. Be prepared to dig deep in those pockets gamers if you are planning on getting your hands on Sony's Playstation Vita. GameStop has leaked the prices for the memory cards of the successor to the PSP and boy it is not pretty. 4GB - $29.99 8 GB - $44.99 16 GB - $69.99 32 GB - $119.99 GameStop also listed other accessories for the Playstation Vita including a USB cable cord for $14.99, a portable charger for $49.99, and a starter kit for $29.99 among others. The Playstation Vita will be releasing on February 22, 2012 for $249.99, $299.99, and $349.99 depending on if you buy a bundle, one with Wi-Fi and 3G, or just the regular edition. via IGN
  17. A woman who could not handle her husband's noobish love for Modern Warfare 3 has placed him up for sale on Craigslist, but only as a "joke" of course. "I am selling my 22 year old husband. He enjoys eating and playing video games all day. Easy to maintain, just feed and water every 3-5 hours. You must have Internet and space for gaming. Got tired of waiting so free to good home. If acceptable replacement is offered will trade." states the ad. Kyle, her husband that is up for sale finds it hilarious and says that his wife supports his gaming habits. "I love my wife. She supported me when I got the game. We stayed until midnight to get the game when it first came out. It's just funny." Funny or not, dude your wife put you up for sale. There is no other way to say "I'm pissed because I asked you to take the trash out and instead 5 hours later you are playing that damn game, STILL!" then listing you for sale. The couple has gotten some replies back from the ad with women offering to "retrain" him and men wanting to trade positions with the Modern Warfare 3 lover. via ABC News
  18. Nintendo is adding two Nintendogs 3DS bundles to it's growing lineup of available 3DS bundles this holiday season. Nintendogs = Cats: French Bulldog and New Friends and the Nintendogs: Toy Poodle and New Friends are both retailing for $169.99 respectively. Hopefully if you are looking into purchasing either bundle for someone on your list they happen to be female, because these specific 3DS bundles are only available in pink. via Joystiq
  19. With the Wii U and Xbox Next in the works, many have been left wondering, what about Sony? Sony was a little more than late to the party when the Xbox 360 launched in 2005. According to Playstation Europe Boss, Jim Ryan, that will not be happening again. "I think we would consider it undesirable to be significantly later than the competition [with the next PlayStation]." Ryan told Eurogamer in a recent interview. Couple that statement with the recent headline from Edge stating that one huge Sony owned studio has halted work permanetly on the PS3 to begin developing the PS4, it looks like the battle of the next gen consoles is about to begin....again. via Eurogamer
  20. Okay, I'll admit it. I'm insanely jealous of this little boy's room. Why do you ask? His bedroom is decked out in everything Portal including the artwork on his walls, bedding, lamps, and Glados. Yes, he even has his own Glados. But wait, it gets even better. The boy whose name happens to be as badass as his room, Vector, also has a Portal themed bathroom. Yeah, I know your jaw just dropped. http://youtu.be/QzJm6Cn8ye4 http://youtu.be/_63HRCfjkBwvia Joystiq

Baaa babababadada!!!! Well, what all of us with Xbox 360's have been waiting for! The new, major update for the xbox dashboard. This update will be available for all to download on December 6th. This update will include all the cool features seen from E3 this year, including a more kinect friendly interface, more entertainment apps such as Youtube and Hbo Go, and you will have more use of voice commands throughout the dashboard and apps. There will also be cloud storage for game saves and profiles. The cloud storage for game saves and the Xbox Live profile are going to be huge. This means you’ll be able to save your game progress and profile to the cloud without having to worry about losing that progress should your console die. It also means the process of signing into your profile on another Xbox just got drastically easier since save migration will be a snap. Won't that be a relief? No more overheating after your epic 3 hour battle with the beast from beyond when he has a sliver of life left......and then having to start all over. Bing will make its appearance also, with the voice commands playing a major part. You'll be able to search for say Harry Potter, and pop up all the harry potter movies and games that are available on xbox live. This download will be free to all console owners. I for one, can't wait to see all the new and exciting features, and play around with the new layout til I have it just perfect! via Shacknews
  22. Sony CEO Jack Tretton made his Sony fanbase a huge promise that turns out might just be a big pile of poo. Tretton made the announcement at this year's E3, regarding exclusive Saint's Row: The Third multiplayer content that only the PS3 was getting. He promised users that they would be receiving an "over the top exclusive mulitplayer game mode.". According to the fine fellows over at Joystiq both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are the same and that there are no differences in either version. Joystiq did reach out to THQ and received a big fat, "no comment.". Many websites are speculating that Tretton was speaking about Whored Mode, however the PC, Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3 all have this co-op mode. via Joystiq and IGN
  23. Mario, a character that has been around since 1981's classic Donkey Kong and not to mention the face of Nintendo, has fallen under attack from one of the mosted hated groups ever comprised of people who need a mental examination, PETA. Instead of concentrating their efforts on animal poachers or saving the rain forest, PETA has decided that Mario is a fur hating, animal killer all because of the popular Tanooki suit that resembles a tan raccoon. PETA has even launched a Mario Kills Tanooki website that depicts the fan favorite character taking a real like Tanuki raccoon dog, holding it's decapitated head, and dancing in it's blood while the head is some how crying despite missing it's body. This is not the first time PETA has attacked video games by creating a "video game" of their own. Last year they wasted their time by creating an anti Super Meat Boy game called Super Tofu Boy, because you know, Tofu is not only healthy but incredibly badass in all of it's tofu-ness. Remember kids, if you purchase a new copy of the just released Super Mario 3D Land you are not only aiding Mario in rescuing Princess Peach and having fun doing it, but also killing, maming, decapitating, and skinning the real life Tanuki. via Ingame MSNBC
  24. It appears that TV star Ned Luke will be voicing the main character in Rockstar's upcoming GTA title, GTA V. Listed on IMBd at the very top of his roles, states GTA V will be voicing Albert De Silva who appears to be the rumored main character that is spotted on a rooftop in the trailer for GTA V. Adding more fuel to the rumor fire is a tweet from another actor, Jimmy Taenaka that gives congratulations to Ned Luke for getting the lead role. "my fellow thespian Ned Luke is the lead voice and profile in the upcoming game by Rockstar Grand Theft Auto 5! Way to go Ned! Wholly Molly!" Rockstar has yet to confirm anything. http://youtu.be/QkkoHAzjnUs via IGN
  25. EA is started off the week the right way, by banning hundreds of cheaters, glitchers, and exploiters in Battlefield 3. "This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting)... (2 of More)", tweeted EA over Twitter. "We are working on banning as many people as we can as quickly as we can. We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating." The bans come after the offending players discovered a glitch that allows a player using the engineer class to gain tens of thousands of points causing them to rank up extremely fast within one round. via Eurogamer
