I was at the spot of the explosion 48 hours ago. No fucking joke, within 50 feet of there delivering for work.

This is fucking me all up. I'm a mess right now.

What they hell is wrong with people?

Just what we need... more crap for the media to talk about for the next month. No copycats please...

Thoughts and prayers to those affected.

I saw that the latest reports said they were portable devices.

My girlfriends best friend and her fellow classmates at Boston University were running in the Marathon and were 4 blocks away from the explosion. My room mates older brother was also spectating the Marathon, was EXACTLY at the place where the bombs exploded 10 minutes earlier and left on impulse to grab a drink at a bar before the Red Sox game tonight. This whole thing is terrible.

I've been watching the videos and seeing all these pictures - fucking terrible. But one thing in all the pictures you see is all the people rushing to HELP. There may be one fucktard who decided to set those bombs, or even a handful, but look at how many hundreds of people rallied in a short time - and now all over the country (and if you are a redditor, you'll see other countries even) are supporting those in Boston by providing loved ones plane tickets, places to sleep, donating blood..

This fucking sucks, but at least society as a whole hasn't gone to complete shit. Makes me feel a little better when things like this are happening.

From Snopes regarding that picture.

"Man on the Roof

Another widely circulated image was snapped by college student Dan Lampariello, who was taking pictures along the race sidelines and coincidentally happened to capture the moment when one of the bombs exploded. The picture he took became a subject of great interest online because it showed a figure walking on the rooftop of an adjacent building just as the explosion occurred on the street below, causing many to speculate (without foundation) that the person pictured in the photo had some connection to the bombings:

A correspondent with the International Data Group (IDG) news service told us that the man pictured was on the balcony adjoining the IDG offices on the top floors of the building in question, a spot which is typically used by workers on break.
