Any Games You Guys Picked Up Over The Holidays?

Featured Replies

I bought Lara Croft :GoL, Monday Night Combat, Mass Effect 2 DLC and most likely will get Limbo when it goes on sale either tomorrow or Friday. I also got Forza 3 Ultimate, Lost Planet 2, Nier, and PoP The Forgotten Sands as gifts. I know Nier and LP 2 were on sale at GameStop and BB respectively, so that's probably why I got them as gifts, but they are pretty decent games. For the prices that they were, I wouldn't have complained about buying them myself though. Nier is pretty enjoyable, even if the graphics aren't up to par with the latest and greatest, I seem to have a soft spot in my heart for this game. So what about you guys? Any games you guys didn't really know about, but bought them on impulse because it was on sale, and ended up really digging them?

Coy got me AC: Brotherhood for Xmas.

I also picked up Neverwinter Nights 2, Lost Horizon, Kev gave me VVVVVV, The Witcher (again), Evil Genius, and Star Wars:KOTOR on Steam

Got Baldur's Gate 2 again on GoG.

Also I got FF: The 4 Heroes of Light on the DS for Coy since she just finished up Golden Sun. :)

So yeah, I'm full of games as usual as the moment.

i bought kane and lynch 2, and i need a co-op partner.

I got CoD: Black Ops and Fable 3 for xmas, and picked up Dark Sector from amazon since it was on sale for a penny(+ shipping). Also bought DR2: Case West yesterday.

i bought kane and lynch 2, and i need a co-op partner.

I'm sorry.

I gamefly'd that game and LOATHED it. I liked the first surprisingly, but the completed f*cked the second one. Similar to Army of Two, I liked the first and hated the second. Not only that, but the online play is a WASTELAND and it takes ages to find a match. When you do, it's always laggy. :(

I'm also sad that they decided to make a sequel to Kane & Lynch and NOT Alpha Protocol (an excellent action/RPG)

Claptrap DLC (PC), Just Cause 2 and the Serious Sam Gold Edition (4 games).

Dat got me Morrowind Uber Special Deluxe Edition. Spawn got me Kayne and Lynch 2 (PC). EarWaxFace got me Plants vs Zombehs.

Btw, if anyone has Serious Sam on Steam, let me know. Kevin and I are looking for more co-op partners. It supports up to 16 in co-op, in three different modes. My Steam: PeeKnuckle

Let's go through the list:

Kinectimals

Alan Wake

Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2

Enslaved

The Darkness

Rock Band 3 w/keyboard

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Got gifted the 2K Pack on Steam

Got gifted Darksiders

Got gifted Nyxquest on Steam

Back to the Future Episode 1

Doom Pack on Steam

Lego Batman on Steam

Deus Ex Pack on Steam

Rush on Steam

I think that's it. Also got some MS space bucks and another 12 month gold card. On top of the Nook Color. Decent haul this X-mas Season honestly.

meh, i have no intention of playing matches online. i like it. i just like the feel of it.

Steam is mugging me daily. Here's a list of all that I've gotten from the Steam holiday sales so far. I say so far because there are still a couple more days of daily deals left. lol

On the bright side, I did get everything on my Steam wishlist. I'm only going to list the holiday sale games, but I also got a few cheap indie games from the Steam Treasure Hunt challenge.

Bethesda Mega Pack (all games including New Vegas), Metro 2033, Zombie Driver, Super Meat Boy, Just Cause 2 (from Dat), Spore Complete Pack, Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2, Overlord Complete Pack, Borderlands GotY, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Batman Arkham Asylum GotY, Flatout UC (gift from Assassin), Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, Fear Complete Pack, Freedom Force w/ expansion (from C&C), Serious Sam Gold Pack, Crysis Complete Pack, and GTA IV with Episodes from Liberty City.

I gifted Assassin a Magic: the Gathering DLC for the Steam challenge a while back for the treasure hunt challenge, and gifted C&C and Dat VVVVVV, an awesome retro style platformer.

Oh, right I forgot to put that I got Rock Band 3 with the keyboard for my birthday, and I bought the original Ghost Recon and it's expansions off of steam.

Thats cool. I'm glad you like it bro. I wasn't trying to poop on your new game. I just couldn't get in to it, and thats sad cause I enjoyed the first one.

Yeah I've seen the steam deals, they blew my mind. Valve continues to reinforce my opinion that they are one of the best in the business. Alas, my gaming laptop isn't a high-end one. I can run Amnesia at max settings and ME1 at max (but at a low res of 1024x800) but not many other games. Plus I wanted to wait until I got an external program that allowed me to plug in my new Afterglow 360 remote. Still, I would have gotten SMB and Serious Sam, if I didn't already have them for 360. Maybe if another co-op game goes on sale that's not too taxing on the laptop comes around, I'll jump in. I wish I had a new PC to run games like Metro 2033, as I have found that game to be an amazing experience. My friend has a gaming rig, and that game just blew me away. Amnesia is an experience everyone should endure though. Dead Space 2 was like an action movie compared to that game. I'll keep my eye on Steam's final sales, but I have more than enough on my plate as it is. I'm going to focus on Nier and Lost Planet 2, which, if anyone has, I'm down for some co-op on that. Getting SC: Conviction at Best Buy tomorrow also, since it's 10 bucks along with PoP:TFS.

I thought Metro 2033 was a great game too......... aside from the fact that the immersion was killed for me when I saw that every single person in existence owned twelve hundred copies of the novel and had posters for the novel everywhere in the game. LoL

I managed to pick up a few games on sale. The deal for Fable 3 on Amazon was pretty good and Tam and I both have a love/hate relationship with that game. Also the Gamestop (yes I shop at Gamestop) buy 2 used get 1 free seemed like a pretty good deal. I picked up Rock Band 3 (just disc no instruments), Enslaved and my freebie was Uncharted 2. I played through Uncharted 2 already thanks to Gamefly but I know I'll play through it a couple more times.

There really wasn't anything this holiday season I was interested in. January and Feb are a different story though.

Yeah they really tried to market the book to people in that game lol. Still, apart from that, I have very few complaints about that game (from what I played of it). The Gamestop deal doesn't look too bad. My friend wants a copy of Gears 2, so I could pick one up for myself, one for him, and then take the free game for me (which would probably be Dead Rising 1, but then I could just let him have it and run through it once myself). Jan. isn't too interesting for me, save for DS2, but Feb. is going to be awesome with MvC3(Yay for Galactus as the final boss!) and Bullestorm.

Ragna, get the Valve Complete Pack if you don't already have The Orange Box or Left 4 Dead 1/2. It's every Vavle game ever for $50, and the requirements for those games aren't all that high. My crappy laptop was able to play Left 4 Dead 2 a bit, albeit at a low framerate. If you can handle Mass Effect 1, you can surely handle most Valve games. I would have gotten it if I didn't already own most of them.

I'm sorry.

Dude 2 was so much better then the first. The story actually made sense. I remember you talking **** about the first one back when it came out.

There are seriously no games I want to play. I've tried so many different kinds and I just automatically get bored with it. After playing Deadly Premonition, nothing else seems fun. I just can't get past the fact that most games now are only 5 hours long and focus on the same repetitive multiplayer modes. I gamefly most of my games and everytime I try to sit down and play I just get so bored and can't even force myself to finish. I have crackdown 2 right now and use to i would try to get as much done as possible but now i'm thinking of just sending it back. I really wish there was some epic game out that lasted a great deal, with a lot of things to do. I guess I would be better off being a pc gamer.

Mostly Kinect stuff.

Kinectimals,

Kinect Sports

Your Shape Fitness Evolved

Dance Central

The family loves it. It is fun.

I also got Battlefield Bad Company 2 back with the Vietnam xpac. I gotta say Battlefield is so much better to me than Call of Duty Black Ops. Both can be fun though.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2011

I got a gift card for gamestop and it is burning a hole in my pocket right now lol.

i got bioshock 2 for 10 bucks and falllout new vegas for 25. hoping they were worth it, just finished fable 3 and ready to start one of them. havent figured out which yet.

That's what I was thinking, but I've already beaten everything except for L4D 2, so I was thinking of getting that if it went on sale again, and SMB for PC, but I'll wait and see if something strikes my fancy on the last couple of days.Stealthy, you should try Fallout first, the writing in that game is pretty good, and the latest patch fixes a lot of bugs in the game, but if you want a more polished and well-designed single-player experience, Bioshock 2 isn't bad. Hell, at 10 bucks, it's a steal.
