I know, more than 75 percent of the people on this earth who know how to use a computer decently, can obtain music illegally. Now, my question to go further about that is: Do you believe people post songs of albums that were just released on YouTube to promote the ban, gain views, or to see what the record label company will do by forcing them by removing the media? For me, it would be to promote the band. Although, some bands are cool with it or don't go to the extremes some bands would go pass go and screw you up if possible. So in conclusion, is it a good deed to upload a song that isn't technically out yet?

  3. In the city of Detroit, doing the right thing might not always be the best idea — especially if you want to keep your job: just ask a former groundskeeper for the Wayne County Department of Public Services. John Chevilott was only two years of shy of retirement when he lost the government position he held for 23 years earlier this month. After he spotted a loaded handgun while mowing the lawn of a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan, Chevilott carefully picked up the firearm and put it aside to hand over to law enforcement. When he visited a local police station that afternoon, he was applauded for his action. “They said I did the right thing getting it off the street,” Mr.…

  6. New insight into the early life of Barack Obama has been recently made available in the form of excerpts from the forthcoming biography, “Barack Obama: The Story.” Apparently young Barry Obama, like countless of his contemporaries, enjoyed partaking in the use of marijuana. The president even was a trendsetter amongst his peers: As a member of the Choom Gang, Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends. The first was called “TA,” short for “total absorption.” Along with TA, Barry popularized the concept of “roof hits”: when they were chooming in the car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, the…

  8. In the United Kingdom, publicists didn’t get much bigger or more controversial than Max Clifford. Having built his career representing everyone from Frank Sinatra to Muhammad Ali, the quick-witted, silver-haired Clifford had become, as one journalist put it, “a master manipulator of the tabloid media.” Perhaps most notoriously, Clifford resurrected singer Freddie Starr’s concert tour in 1986 by planting the sensational headline “Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster” in the Sun. Like the rumor of Ozzy Osbourne biting off the head a bat, the story generated so much attention that it sold out Starr’s tour. The decision by the marketing team at BMG Interactive to hire such a powerful…

  11. After an investigation into what he could do with gravity and magnetic fields, Dutch designer Jólan van der Wiel created these peculiar seats by fusing raw materials with the two natural forces. Called ‘Gravity Stools’, each seat is formed using a specially made machine that uses gravity and magnets, instead of electricity. Made from a mix of plastics and iron shavings, these fantastic sustainable designs are unique, low-impact and an inimitable explosion of color. 21. A renowned Australian research scientist says a study from researchers at MIT claiming the world could suffer from a "global economic collapse" and "precipitous population decline" if people continue to consume the world's resources at the current pace is still on track, nearly 40 years after it was first produced. Most of the computer scenarios found population and economic growth continuing at a steady rate until about 2030. But without "drastic measures for environmental protection," the scenarios predict the likelihood of a population and economic crash. However, the study said "unlimited economic growth" is still possible if world governments enact policies and inves…

  23. When U.S. authorities shuttered sports-wagering site Bodog.com last week, it raised eyebrows across the net because the domain name was registered with a Canadian company, ostensibly putting it beyond the reach of the U.S. government. Working around that, the feds went directly to VeriSign, a U.S.-based internet backbone company that has the contract to manage the coveted .com and other “generic” top-level domains. EasyDNS, an internet infrastructure company, protested that the “ramifications of this are no less than chilling and every single organization branded or operating under .com, .net, .org, .biz etc. needs to ask themselves about their vulnerability to the whims …

  24. There have been questions about what documents the CIA chooses to declassify, and so Kel McClanahan of National Security Counselors filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out what procedures the CIA must follow in response to requests to declassify information. McClanahan appeared to know exactly what he was looking for, but... was told that the CIA simply could not find any such documents. Read on http://www.techdirt....documents.shtml
