Well, I decided I don't want to have to download my steam games every time I want to play them, and I like to have copies stored locally anyhow. So I started the process of downloading and then backing them up. Man I wish I would have done this one at a time and sooner. So far I have 55,233.2MB downloaded and I'm not even 1/2 way done. Gonna be a long process, but worth it.

Occasionally we read something that is so far out there in the world of all things gaming that we have to take a moment and acknowledge those dumbasses with “The Dumbass Award”. Have you ever found yourself playing a game Frogger and thinking, “Gee, I want to play a real life version of Frogger.”. If you answered “yes” to that question, then you are just as insane as this guy who failed at playing a real life version of Frogger yesterday. A 23 year old dumbass from South Carolina was struck by a 2010 Lexus after attempting to navigate a four lane highway like the video game Frogger. He stood beside the highway and when traffic was coming he yelled, “Go!” and jumped in f…

If you were thinking of buying Nintendo’s 3DS for your child or little brother or sister, you might want to hold off on that. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime has released quite a few statements saying that Nintendo’s latest DS model which uses 3D technology is not safe for children under the age of 7 who’s eye muscles are still not fully developed and that the 3DS can cause them to have headaches and other symptoms because their eyes will have to strain to make sense of the 3D imagery. In a report by Helium, this announcement made by Fils-Aime might cut Nintendo’s demographic field with the 3DS by 60% considering that the handheld is geared more to children in the 5-10 age …

We at Gamercide had a chance to talk to the guys over at Nice Technology about their upcoming free to play MMO, Picaroon. It’s supposed to be a sort of semi-futuristic piratey MMO RTS, but isn’t as complicated as it sounds. Just read on to see what Nice Tech had to say. Q – Can you give us a brief history of Nice Technology? Nice Technology was formed in 2009 when it got together with Toby Simpson the developer of AliceServer the MMOG engine (unique, we believe, in having an agent based architecture) to develop the software further and self publish games made with it. Nice Technology has worked on two titles, one Tronji an MMOG for children developed for BBCW and Ra…

The developer of fan favorite Rock Band has found a new home. Viacom sold Harmonix to Harmonix-SBE Holdings LLC on Thursday, December 23. What does this mean for gamers who own Harmonix’s Rock Band and Dance Central? Absolutely nothing at the moment. “We’re excited to be returning to our roots as an independent and privately owned studio. As for what it means for you, the DLC schedule marches on for Rock Band, we will continue our support of previously released titles and we’re hard at work on some unannounced projects that we think you’re going to be pumped about,” stated Harmonix. Viacom first announced that they were looking to sell Harmonix about a month ago which …

******. Really ******. Those are the words used by Team Meat’s Edmund McMillen to describe the now not so upcoming Super Meat Boy for Wiiware. “There is no way to avoid the fact that if we released a 40MB version of Super Meat Boy it would be a **** version of the game, It’s a lose lose situation, but the fact of the matter is if we release a ****** game, we will have to live with that for the rest of our careers and have to cop to the fact that it is a ****** game.” Team Meat also said that a retail version of Super Meat Boy for the Wii is probably not going to happen either. Sounds like you Wii owners are SOL. via IGN View the full article

Developed by: Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Annecy (multiplayer) Published by: Ubisoft Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3 Players: 1 offline, with 4-8 player multiplayer Rated M (Mature) by the ESRB Assassin’s Creed II was a great game and improved upon the already revolutionary first Assassin’s Creed in almost every conceivable way. With Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Ubisoft aims to improve even further upon an already great series, even adding a completely new multiplayer mode. But is it worth the full price, or is it little more than an expansion? You don’t need to read to the end of this review to know my personal impression of this game. The answer is yes, the game is abso…

I've been spending the majority of my time with my PS3 lately and it looks like it's going to stay that way for a while. I've done pretty good sticking to a budget and not buying any new games and waiting till their on sale, but the beginning of 2011 is going to change that. The games I'm going to pick up (likely on release day) will be Dead Space 2 for PS3 (it comes with a copy of D.S. Extraction), Killzone 3 (my favorite FPS series) and the minding blowing awesome/cutest game ever Little Big Planet 2!! I know all of these are PS 3 games and honestly I have no idea what is coming out for the 360 next year. So guys .. what are you looking forward to? When is Gears 3 comi…

If you are from a large family like I am you might enjoy this, it was tradition to line up the kids Christmas morning from youngest to oldest, this is a poem my brother wrote about it. Fifth from the Front By Eric Christensen Fifth from the front Fourth from the rear Anxious to see if Santa’s been here Wish Dad would hurry And give the “All Clear!” ‘Cause I’m Fifth from the front Fourth from the rear A Family Tradition Since beginning of time Some parents enjoy forcing children to line From young to the oldest And it’s really not fair ‘Cause I’m Fifth from the front Fourth from the rear And it’s moments like this That I really don’t see Why Mom and Dad didn’t stop a…

Anyone else going to head outside in a bit and catch a glimpse of the total lunar eclipse? Apparently this event hasn't happened in around 400 years, coinciding with the Winter Solstice. Should be pretty fun to watch and should be able to be seen by everyone in North America. *thumbs up*

February 1st will see the new DLC for CoD: Black Ops. Contents? Four "new" maps (I say "new" because they're based on locations in the singleplayer campaign) One new zombie map. Cost? $15 FML. I'm getting so sick fo $15 DLC. We paid SIXTY dollars for the game already, and got FOURTEEN multiplayer maps. This will be an exclusive download for Xbox 360 users for a little while before it migrates around to other consoles.
