If last year you approached me to say you had an idea to create a game where you pilot hot air balloons which are loaded up with cannons, rockets and flamethrowers I would have to say my interest would have been piqued. Valve has announced that 300 lucky Steam users are going to be sent a Steam Box prototype free of charge to beta test later on this year. Before October 25th, make sure to login to your Steam account or create an account and join the Steam Universe Community Group. You must then agree to the the hardware and beta terms, followed by making at least 10 Steam friends. If you already have done all of that then you are one step ahead. No, you read that correctly. After you unbox and setup your brand new Xbox One, there is an update. The mandatory update will need 15-20 minutes to fully download. The update addresses the system's firmware changes that were needed after the change of policies that occurred when fans moaned over several key features that were set to appear in the Xbox One. Unfortunately for the Xbox One consoles that were set to launch could not be tweaked to reflect those changes hence the need for the update. "We are optimising Xbox One so that the day one update is as fast as possible. While we're still finalising the details, we expect that the download will take between 15 and 20 min…

  6. Loss, sadness, fear, darkness, beauty, strength. These words are just a few that can describe the journey that Senua goes through in her 6 to 8 hour journey to Helheim in Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. A Celtic warrior returning from a Viking raid, to find her love sacrificed to the Norse Gods, she embarks on a journey to save his soul from Hela (The Norse goddess of death). From the outset we begin to learn just how broken our protagonist is both physically, but most of all mentally. As we begin the journey, you hear them...the whispers in Senua's head. At first you feel they are just coming from around you. Hidden faces within the landscape perhaps? The multiple voi…

Developed by: Volition, Inc. Published by: Deep Silver Platform: PC (Reviewed), PS3, Xbox 360 Release Date: August 20th, 2013 Players: Single Player and Co-op Rated M for Mature by the ESRB The Saint's Row series has lately become known for how ridiculous and over the top it is. But how do you top a game where you can run around beating people to death with a giant dildo bat? Apparently you not only make the player the president of the United States, but also give them superpowers. Saint's Row IV is a bit of a departure, even from how wacky the last game got. The Earth is threatened by evil alien overlord Zinyak, and the player and the gang are abducted right out of the o…

On the Batman Arkham Facebook page, a mysterious message appeared hinting at a big announcement coming on 12/31/2013. Could it be a new next-gen Batman Arkham game or perhaps DLC for Batman Arkham: Origins? Warner Bros. has previously announced that narrative driven DLC was to be expected sometime in 2014 for Batman Arkham: Origins, but they did not give an exact time frame for when gamers could expect it. There is also the chance that the announcement could be a next-gen Batman Arkham game considering that owners of the next-gen consoles with the exception of the Wii U, do not have a Batman: Arkham game to play. No Man's Sky has become one of the most divisive games in recent memory. There are 3 camps surrounding this game, with a few exceptions here and there. First up, like me, there are those that enjoy the game immensely (I'll discuss why in a bit). Secondly, you have the people on the fence. These are people that will eventually play a little more and fall on one side or the other. Last, but not least, there are those disappointed and/or hate the game completely. Now, I'm not looking to change anyone's mind about their thoughts or even help someone in that second group make a decision. The opinions below are mine and mine alone. I hope we can start a dialogue about w…
