If you are a fan of Call of Duty and will be in the Los Angeles area on September 2 and September 3, you might want to purchase tickets to the massive Call of Duty XP Event.

The event where 100% of the proceeds will benefit Call of Duty Endowment which helps returning veterans transition into being a civilian when their military service is over.

If you are interested in attending you must have proof showing that you are at least 18 years of age and be prepared to put down $150.00 for one ticket.  Two tickets can be purchased by a single person.

The events of Call of Duty XP include a real life version of The Pit and Scrapyard that you can play through without the need of controllers, Call of Duty Elite will be on display, and you can also attempt to qualify in the massive tournament that features some of the best Call of Duty players to date.  There are one million dollars worth of cash and prizes to those that qualify in one of the open 32 spots.  $400,000 of that will go to the winning four player team.

I just don't see how these uncreative games are still so popular. The pitch for CoD Black Ops was probably like. "Well, you're a military guy, and you shoot people." "Didn't we already do that?" "Yeah but, uh, this time it will be in the 60s!" "Brilliant!".

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Just playing Devil's advocate. From a serious gamer's perspective, you're right. From the perspective of millions of people who buy anything with "Call of Duty" slapped on it, it is brilliant (because it's new).
