Gamers rejoice, because the co-op addition is coming to your Xbox 360 on October 27 for free via a title update. Eidos announced that gamers will also have 30 days to download the first DLC pack for free. Valve had stated that free DLC would be coming out over the summer. Well, it's now near the middle of Fall, and finally Valve has released details on Portal 2's first DLC pack, titled "Peer Review". The DLC will add a new set of courses for Atlas and P-Body to complete, continuing the story of the pair of lovable robots "as you puzzle your way through a mysterious new co-op test track and once again match wits with GLaDOS." We at Gamercide had a chance to talk to the guys over at Nice Technology about their upcoming free to play MMO, Picaroon. It's supposed to be a sort of semi-futuristic piratey MMO RTS, but isn't as complicated as it sounds. Just read on to see what Nice Tech had to say. Q – Can you give us a brief history of Nice Technology? Nice Technology was formed in 2009 when it got together with Toby Simpson the developer of AliceServer the MMOG engine (unique, we believe, in having an agent based architecture) to develop the software further and self publish games made with it. Nice Technology has worked on two titles, one Tronji an MMOG for children developed for BBCW and Ra…

  5. With each and every “Gabbin’ with Gamercide” we will look to bring you many interviews with members of the gaming world, from not only the console world, but the mobile gaming market as well. We try to give a “behind the scenes” look at what makes each company do the things that they do. In this interview, we get to know the CEO and Founder of one of the premier mobile gaming developers in the market today Kiloo. Teaming with Manomio, Kiloo worked to release one of the very first retro gaming emulators for the iPhone, C64. C64 as I’m sure you can guess is a Commodore 64 emulator that lets you relive those awesome 80s games on the go. This did not come without its hic…

  6. Gabbin’ with Gamercide An interview with Chris Geehan & Dan Byrne-McCullough – Hyperduck Music Studios About a year ago we did an interview with the guys from Hyperduck Music Studios. In our first follow up, we see what the guys have been up to, what’s new, and dig for some big announcements. That said, let’s get started and see what we can find out. Q – Alright guys, for the uninitiated, give us a quick introduction to who HyperDuck Studios is and how you guys got started. (Don’t worry; I’ll add the shameless plug for you.) Chris: Sure thing Shawn. Hello! We are HyperDuck Music Studios! We're a two duck/man team that composes records and p…

Sega games on a Nintendo console here in America? That is correct. The ESRB has rated two Sega Game Gear games for Nintendo's 3DS. The Game Gear games are Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble which happens to be a favorite of mine and Shinobi. Both have received an "E" for "everyone" rating. For those of you that are not up on your handheld knowledge, the Sega Game Gear was Sega's take on the handheld craze that released here in the states in 1991. Sega officially dropped support of their handheld in 1997 after an unsuccessful shelf life in Japan and issues with the handheld's battery life became more prominent. The original model would only last for about 4 hours. Seg…

  11. Nintendo's Game Boy Advance which has seen three different designs since it's release in 2001 is officially on it's way out as Gamestop announces that they will no longer be accepting Game Boy Advance handheld devices or games. According to Joystiq, on April 2 the gaming retail giant will no longer be taking anything that has to do with the 11 year old handheld. 12. If you've been waiting all these years to sell that box of wires named "GameCube," you've waited a bit too long. As of April 2nd, GameStop will not accept trade-ins for the system, its games, or any of its affiliated accessories. This news holds some nostalgic value for me, as the GameCube was the first console I ever owned, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee was the first game I bought for it. Still, I don't really miss the system. At the moment, GameStop is still selling used consoles, games, and accessories, so if you're into collector's items, you're free to help yourself to the gamut of stuff your local GameStop store is bound to have in stock. via Game Informer Click h…

  14. If you are doing last minute Christmas shopping or just want to buy yourself a game, you might want to check out GameFly’s Year End Sale. Dozens of titles on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS have been slashed to unbelievable prices. While some of the games are either old or just do not deserve a glance, there are some titles on there that are worth getting if you have yet to play them or have someone on your list who is asking Santa for them this year. Mortal Kombat, Alice: Madness Returns, Portal 2, and for the kiddos the Ben 10 Triple Pack just to name a few. GameFly’s sale will be running now until January 3, 2012 and features …

It was an even tie between these two choices. Of course there can only be one President and VP, so this will be the final decision. This poll will be closing tonight at midnight, so get your votes in.

What’s the story behind your gamertag Well, back in the day when I was a wee lad, I used to go by xStArDoMx. Can you just feel the teenaged angst? The story behind it isn’t very remarkable. I went through some old gamertags for clans with lots of x’s and alternating caps back when I used to play Halo 2 on the OBox. Once I got a 360, I decided I needed something better. I originally just wanted Stardom but, alas, it was taken. So I used my awesome workaround skills and came up with xStArDoMx. I’ve since moved on to bigger and better names such as Nick. Other aliases I go by are FeversMirrors (based off of an album by Bright Eyes) and Taters (my Steam name if I remember c…

What’s the story behind your gamertag My gamertag used to be AudaciousKevin from early 2007 onwards when I got my Xbox 360 and made an account. The suggestions all showed AdjectiveNoun so I made up a cool one with my name, emphasizing my carefree play style. I eventually got tired of having a fairly long name with an adjective in it and recently changed it to Kevnvek. I did a lot of Googling of variegations of my name to see what came up with the fewest results and eventually ended up on a cool rotatable pallindrome that’s basically my name forwards and backwards with one ‘n’ and no ‘i’s. What game are you currently playing? I just started playing Darksiders II last n…
