Ubisoft brought to the gaming community a brand new vision, “From Dust” that released on July 27 for the Xbox Live Arcade and it also released on August 17 for the PC. PC gamers who have been waiting for the game to release since it was announced at E3 in 2010 are now utterly outraged over what appears to be downright lying on behalf of Ubisoft. “We are aware of some confusion over the inclusion of DRM in the release of From Dust on PC. To prevent any on-going confusion we would like to clarify From Dust PC will release with DRM requiring a one-time only online activation. After which you will be able to play the game offline. We hope this clears any outstanding confus…

It appears that the much rumored Halo movie is back on the front burner of the rumor mill after a french press release claims that Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks are backing the film set to release in 2012. The press release which happens to be for the Forerunner based Halo novel, Halo: Cryptum clearly states, “ A film adaptation is set in 2012. It will be conducted jointly by two heavyweights of American cinema: Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks.” Does this mean that a Halo movie might release around the same time as Halo 4 in winter 2012? Or is this just simply another rumor that needs to be put to rest until Microsoft steps forward and says, “yes a Halo film is being p…

EA is started off the week the right way, by banning hundreds of cheaters, glitchers, and exploiters in Battlefield 3. “This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting)… (2 of More)“, tweeted EA over Twitter. “We are working on banning as many people as we can as quickly as we can. We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating.” The bans come after the offending players discovered a glitch that allows a player using the engineer class to gain tens of thousands of points causing them to rank up extremely fast within one round. via Eurogamer Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

With the Wii U and Xbox Next in the works, many have been left wondering, what about Sony? Sony was a little more than late to the party when the Xbox 360 launched in 2005. According to Playstation Europe Boss, Jim Ryan, that will not be happening again. “I think we would consider it undesirable to be significantly later than the competition [with the next PlayStation].” Ryan told Eurogamer in a recent interview. Couple that statement with the recent headline from Edge stating that one huge Sony owned studio has halted work permanetly on the PS3 to begin developing the PS4, it looks like the battle of the next gen consoles is about to begin….again. via Eurogamer Twee…

Citing a development source from Microsoft, Eurogamer is reporting that the next Kinect will be so accurate that it will be able to read lips. If that turns out to be true, it could not only be a huge improvement on the motion sensing device itself, but also a plus for gamers who are physically disabled and need to utilize more voice commands. According to the source, “Kinect 2 will be so powerful it will enable games to lip read, detect when players are angry, and determine in which direction they are facing.” The source is also claiming that it will be able to send more information to the next gen Xbox. ” It can be cabled straight through on any number of technologie…

Somewhere if you listen closely you can hear the faint cries coming from fans of the uber popular cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, because the online developer that was responsible for at one time working on both of their MMO’s has closed it doors before the new year began. Multiverse who first gained recognition by allowing developers to create MMO’s cheaply through use of their Multiverse Platform announced through a message on their website before 2011 ended that they had to close their doors due to lack of funds. Good news for at least Firefly fans, DarkCryo Entertainment is working on Firefly Universe Online. However for my fellow Buffy fans, we wil…

If you’re anything like me, Borderlands 2 is at the top of your most anticipated game list. And now, Gearbox is letting us in on some of the new things we will be seeing in the second game. There are going to be some new classes in 2, and they will be taking notes from the previous classes skill trees. They detailed one of those classes, the dual-wielding Gunzerker. The primary action skill for the Gunzerker will be, surprise! dual-wielding. But the three skill trees will be able to modify that ability. There will be the Rampage tree, which will accent the ‘berserker’ part of the character. This will help the dual-wielding to become more destructive. There is a skill in t…
