Developed by: Techland Published by: Deep Silver Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Players: 1-4 Rated M for Mature by the ESRB It’s the zombie apocalypse and you’re trapped in paradise, or is it hell? Regardless, you must fend for yourself and meet up with other survivors to get through this calamity. Fortunately, you’ve brought some friends. Dead Island is a four player cooperative open world zombie role-playing game. That’s certainly a mouthful, but it makes for a surprisingly fresh concept considering how oversaturated the market for zombie games is. There are plenty of zombie games, and even more RPGs, but surprisingly few hybrids of the two, not counting RPGs t…

  2. Developed by: Straandlooper, Telltale Games Published by: Telltale Games Platforms: PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad Players: 1 Rated M for Mature by the ESRB It’s the final act and once again Detective Inspector Hector finds himself stuck in a small room without any pants. After confronting and subsequently being captured by the terrorist in the finale of the second episode, Hector once again starts out in a perilous situation where one wrong move and he’s up a certain creek – though this time quite literally. All the usual gameplay elements are still here and essentially the same. This time around, after escaping from a septic tank out in the countryside and getting back…

  3. Gears of War 3, the last game in a trilogy that has been the definition of a successful console IP, has been out for only a few days, and it has dominated the game sales charts for September in both North America and Europe. According to Gamasutra.com, the game tops the multiplatform North America and Europe charts, while not fairing as well in Japan since it’s placed third behind Dark Souls and ICO/Wanda to Kyozou Limited Box. However, when only Xbox 360 game sales are taken into account, it comes as no surprise to see Gears of War 3 top all of the sales charts, even Japan’s. Charts taken from Gamasutra.com: Multiplatform North America: 1. Gears of War 3 (Microsoft, X36…

  6. How does 26 Verizon Fios channels on the Xbox 360 sound for starting at $89.99 a month? What if I add that they are throwing in a free one year Gold subscription of Xbox Live and a free copy of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary? Didn’t think so. Microsoft announced those details in a brief explanation of how the Verizon services will tie into their upcoming Xbox Live TV service. Unfortunately the details are disappointing. Besides the 26 channels and the high prices, this offer is only available to customers who use Verizon Fios internet and TV services and the 26 channels will be based on the “customer’s TV package”. The unnamed channels will be Kinect enabled meanin…

During Microsoft’s CES 2012 keynote speech, it was announced that Kinect for Windows will be launching on February 1st. Amazon currently has the PC Kinect device listed at a sale price of $249.99. The Kinect for Windows supports voice commands and hand gestures and features an improvement over the Xbox 360 Kinect version when it comes to how well the Kinect picks up movements at a closer level which is something many Kinect gamers have been complaining about with some games including the popular workout regime, Your Shape Fitness Evolved series. I myself am one of those complainers and can vouch for the issue with the recently release Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012. On…
