Wow 9 days away till its finally in are hands..... Everyone is excited but what is everyone looking to do with it first??? Online game play, missions, freeplay, explore, gang fight, raise wanted level, make custom car and guns, hunt, or just hit it extreme with offroad, big jumps and  skydiving.........  I really want to see the wildlife in hunting and exploring.... hoping the online can be more controlled than in red dead.....sucked you couldnt spawned in with out their being that one asshole that wouldnt even let you play the game and killing you every step of the way....but any ways what do you all think??

I want to buy it, but I really don't want it on console. So, I'm still in limbo. If I do grab it, it would be to play single player.

I dont know if it will have it in the package or not but with some game you buy you get a free month of xbox live....... like i said not sure with this style of game

well im getting it the day of release i will let you know if they have free trial....... but the more i think about it most it wont cause of the new system dropping soon

Since the game is officially in the wild now, I've been watching streams that are free-roam only so-as not to spoil the story.  I have to say, the game is amazing; goty imo.  On the 360 version, I've not noticed any frame-rate slowdowns.  The lighting, especially in the city at night is top-notch and as brilliant as any pc game on high-end systems.  The sheer size associated with what you can do is staggering for a game on 8 year old hardware.  I honestly cannot believe the draw-distance.  I'm not sure when/if it will arrive on the pc, but imo you will be doing yourself a genuine disservice if you don't play this game.  Nothing on the ps3 version yet.

I'm still struggling with indecision, but I think I'll be grabbing this for 360 or PS3 now.  Then get the PC version when it releases.

It truly is staggering what you can do in this game.  Rockstar did a wonderful job with something that basically says 'goodbye' in a very respectful way to this generation of consoles.  I was able to pickup the ps3 version earlier on Saturday from a relative that works for ebgames.  I haven't been able to stop playing it all day :).  Hope you pick it up for some 'crew' action when the online releases in Oct.

I more than likely will, but I'm leaning toward the 360 version. I've always liked the controller better for 360.  Any noticeable difference between the two platforms that you have seen so far?

Nothing noticeable that I've witnessed.  If anything, it would appear the ps3 version renders a little sharper than the 360.  This does have an effect of showcasing more of the texture defects in the game.  Its nominal however. Performance is equal imo.  I like the 360 controller more also :)

Might be time to do some game ordering then.

This is from Amazon:

In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on the PS3 and Xbox 360. For PS3, GTAV ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game - the install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete. For Xbox 360, GTAV will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.

Man, I am on the fence though. I do like the 360 controller better, but at least with PS3 I wouldn't have to pay to play online.  However, I don't think many people I know will have it for PS3.

Screw it, I ordered it for 360.  I'll have fun with the single player at the very least.  Hopefully it will ship with at least one month of gold, but if not I have about 6 weekends worth of 48 hour codes.

Considering this is probably the last of this gen worth anything, I'm seriously thinking about changing my pre-order to the 360 version and getting the digital version via psn also.  Will probably need the 360 version so I can play with your crazy-ass :P

I will also be grabbing it when it releases for PC, but I've been in a gaming funk lately and this looks like something to hold my interest for a while. Sounds like at least a couple of weeks until Online releases, but when it does I'm down for some games.

First I'm going to the top of that sweet mountain and going to throw the ball off and see how much the dog trusts me. Then I'm going to throw myself off. Find the closest boat that allows me to scuba dive, and dive down to find a shark to hopefully knife. All the while hoping that one of the sweet lightning storms kicks in during part or all of my first moments in the game.

then I'll go for a leisurely Cruise in a sailboat or some other fancy watercraft. I'll probably be about a glass of something gone by then so who knows for sure after that.
