May 4, 201115 yr comment_36476 It didn't even have a release date, did it? Kind of silly to push it back, when as far as I recall, there was no set launch date. Report

May 4, 201115 yr comment_36479 No, the only thing Bioware said was "Holiday 2011"Yeah, this is just getting their name out there. Getting people to talk about it, even if it's slightly negative. EA is good at that. They released screenshots and didn't get a big enough buzz from them. They spammed the hell out of Twitter and Facebook. lol Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36485 If they can release it with little to no bugs then I an all for it. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36491 I'm definitely for the 2 year development cycle. I hate when a developer makes a new game every year, unless it's something with less development time required like an arcade game. Often you can tell by the bugs and lack of extra content that it ended up getting rushed. (Usually) a 2+ year development cycle will mean that the game can turn out really good and polished, if the devs make proper use of the time. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36497 Look how long an Elder Scrolls game takes to make, and even then it can have huge flaws and gamebreaking bugs (formID). Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36505 Look how long an Elder Scrolls game takes to make, and even then it can have huge flaws and gamebreaking bugs (formID).In that case you can say that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood came out almost flawless and took barely a year to release, but it's pretty much just Assassin's Creed 2 with some great added features and a new story. I still wish they'd have waited and just made it part of one big game so I didn't have to see another cliff hanger ending that just leaves me waiting for AC3.Dragon Age 2, I think could have been way better (more open; though I've never personally played it) if it took more than the like 1 year after DA1. Although in that case I think it was just the developer's decision to kind of go in a somewhat new direction. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36507 Next Assassin's Creed will be revealed today, if it hasn't already. lol Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36510 Next Assassin's Creed will be revealed today, if it hasn't already. lolI'm guessing they plan to release it near December 2012 lol. Hopefully it will have some finality, or at least have enough crazy s*** going on to make it epic. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36517 Kinda bummed about this. I played through ME2 twice and all the DLC to it in anticipation of a holiday release. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36526 Look how long an Elder Scrolls game takes to make, and even then it can have huge flaws and gamebreaking bugs (formID).Funny part about that is they did know the ID flaw. They just didn't think anyone would ever put enough game time in for it to be an issue. The bug would actually have to be pointed to the Shivering Isles expansion, which didn't have as much development time. Still, more development time the better. ( And NO I'm not talking to you Duke Nukem. You've had enough!) Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36528 Yeah, I knew it was SI that brought it about, but even with Morrowind, there were some pretty big things that had to be patched. Even when they tried to patch out things like duping, there were still workarounds. lol Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36535 I always find it amusing when they patch duping/cheating glitches from a single player game. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36536 RPGs are a whole different beast, though. They could be in development for 10 years and still have several bugs, because of the complexity of them compared to games like shooters. At least on the PC, some glitches can be worked around with console commands. I hated that the orc in Skingrad in Oblivon that sells you the biggest house in the game could randomly clip through/fall off (or something) the bridge he's scripted to cross daily and disappear forever. It was on 360 so I didn't get to buy it with my first character, though on PC you could revive him. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36547 I thought the first was ok but didn't buy the second. Is the second better than the first? Should I buy?My next most anticipated release is Duke Nukem (fingers crossed ). Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36552 I thought the first was ok but didn't buy the second. Is the second better than the first? Should I buy?My next most anticipated release is Duke Nukem (fingers crossed ).The first was a great game. The second had the same phenomenon occur as many newer games these days. It was oversimplified to bring in new players. It's still a great game with a cool story, but it's basically like the first one, but very arcady. Where the first felt too open, the second feels like you're on rails. There isn't even an inventory, just upgrades you can get for the weapons you have. It was a good, fun game, and as with the first some great scores came out of it (The End Run and ending song come to mind), but you should know that the style is a bit more, focused I guess you would say, than the first game.I had fun playing my first playthrough on the hardest difficulty with an imported character lol. It made the game INTENSE, especially with the theme of survival that the game had. Report
May 4, 201115 yr comment_36553 First one bored me so much, that I skipped on getting the second one. lolJust my opinion. I like Borderlands, so what do I know? =] Report
May 5, 201115 yr comment_36556 During today's EA investor conference call, they hinted at "new ways to play Mass Effect 3" and other innovations be revealed at E3. They also mentioned their plans for ME3 to appeal to an even wider audience. That recently announced delay, for instance, was because they are "purposefully shifting it to address a larger market opportunity."Oh, hey. They're tacking on multiplayer. Cool. /conjecture Report
May 5, 201115 yr comment_36558 Sounds like I made the right decision so Appealing to wider audience = making so easy there is no satisfaction in playing and using a more generic story line Or spending all their time forcing multiplayer in the side like PK said Report
May 5, 201115 yr comment_36562 Kinda bummed about this. I played through ME2 twice and all the DLC to it in anticipation of a holiday release. This should have garnered at least some sympathy. What the Hell?!!! lol Report
