New York State Police officials today announced the arrest of Genghis Khan on gun and drug charges. Khan, a 22-year-old Brooklyn resident, was collared yesterday afternoon after troopers stopped a 2001 Chevy for traffic offenses as it traveled on Interstate 87 in Clarkstown in Rockland County. A search of the vehicle, which smelled of pot, turned up cocaine, marijuana, and a Ruger .357 revolver. Wow.... so many people with "famous" names, and they usually get arrested. Source

The planet lies in what they describe as a 'habitable zone', neither too near its sun to dry out or too far away which freezes it. And the discovery could help answer the question of whether we are alone in the universe, which has been plagued astronomers and alien fanatics for years. Read on: here

A new bill up for a vote in Arizona could mandate that pregnancy be considered to have started up to two weeks before conception may have actually occurred. The nuance was introduced on the eighth page of H.B. 2036, a piece of legislation that seeks to modify the amount of time a woman has to legally get an abortion by using the woman’s last menstrual cycle as a means of defining the beginning of what is being called the “gestational age.” WTF ARIZONA? When U.S. authorities shuttered sports-wagering site Bodog.com last week, it raised eyebrows across the net because the domain name was registered with a Canadian company, ostensibly putting it beyond the reach of the U.S. government. Working around that, the feds went directly to VeriSign, a U.S.-based internet backbone company that has the contract to manage the coveted .com and other “generic” top-level domains. EasyDNS, an internet infrastructure company, protested that the “ramifications of this are no less than chilling and every single organization branded or operating under .com, .net, .org, .biz etc. needs to ask themselves about their vulnerability to the whims …

So, I FINALLY won the battle with my new 680GTX and made my water block fit today. It didn't go as easy as I could have hoped. Had to do some modifications of the card to get the water block to fit. Pulled the 480GTX: Had to pull out all my bags of tricks: I thought these tabs were the only thing in the way. Ground them down: Installed everything. Looked and felt like everything was making contact: This wasn't the case. It must have had just a tiny gap. My temps were just about the same as on air. In other words. Complete failure. Back to the Dremel board: With a little, lot? more modification I made some clearance: This time I was confident that it was making ful…

Here’s something you can’t do with your Kindle; Snoop Dogg is set to put out a book of songs that is all set to recycle after you’re done reading it. Since it’s Snoop Dogg, I’ll give you one guess on the suggested recycling method of “Rolling Words”, a songbook that is set to be released as a promotion for Snoop’s line of rolling papers, “Kingsize Slim”. That’s right, after you’re done reading along to Snoop’s beautiful words, you can use the pages to roll up your favorite wacky tobacky: http://thenextweb.co...-songbook-video

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (RNN) - An F/A-18D Hornet Navy fighter jet crashed into an apartment complex near Virginia Beach, VA, sending fuel and debris flying and erupting into flames. Both crew members - who ejected at the very last moment to avoid a nearby school - and five civilians on the ground are being treated at local hospitals. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. An eyewitness to the plane crash, George Pilkington, said that within two or 300 yards of where the plane crashed, the aircraft emptied its jet fuel, with its nose up, and crashed into a building at the Mayfair Mews Apartments. At least five buildings have been heavily damaged. AP is reporting the fire has…

A renowned Australian research scientist says a study from researchers at MIT claiming the world could suffer from a "global economic collapse" and "precipitous population decline" if people continue to consume the world's resources at the current pace is still on track, nearly 40 years after it was first produced. Most of the computer scenarios found population and economic growth continuing at a steady rate until about 2030. But without "drastic measures for environmental protection," the scenarios predict the likelihood of a population and economic crash. However, the study said "unlimited economic growth" is still possible if world governments enact policies and inves…
