3. During GDC 2011, Gamasutra Editor in Chief, Brandon Sheffield and Game Developer Magazine held a discussion with some of the most successful Xbox Live Indie Game developers including James Silva, Robert Boyd, Nathan Fouts, and Ian Stoker. They all provided insight and a little bit of ranting about the games that they create for the indie lineup. According to James Silva who created the 2009 successful indie title, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMBIES 1N IT!!!1 which has sold 308,000 copies since it’s release in 2009, the developers are not allowed to create games involving killing things like Nazi’s and hunting people. “That’s like an inherent human right that’s been taken away…

  4. News from Sony is not good this morning after they admit to losing credit card numbers and detail the extent of how many accounts may have been effected by another revelation that the security breach extends beyond the Playstation Network and out to Sony Online Entertainment. Approximately 12,700 non-US credit and debit card information was stolen from outdated databases in 2007, along with 10,700 debit records in other countries such as Australia and Germany. “The information from the outdated database that may have been stolen includes approximately 12,700 non-U.S. credit or debit card numbers and expiration dates (but not credit card security codes), and about 10,700…

His death on Thursday at age 69 – confirmed by Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril – came as Libyan fighters defeated Gadhafi's last holdouts in his hometown of Sirte, the last major site of resistance in the country. Their final declaration of victory came weeks after Gadhafi was swept from power by rebels who drove triumphantly into the capital of Tripoli on Aug. 21, capping a six-month civil war. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/20/muammar-gaddafi-dead-libya_n_1021843.html

Max Payne 3 is “still in development” according to a recent posting on Eurogamer after they had an investor call with Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, but would not say anything else regarding the game which seems to have slipped into the shadows. Max Payne 3 was originally suppose to see a release date of 2009, but unfortunately has been pushed twice and is not on the release calendar for Take-Two in the 2011-2012 year. via Eurogamer View the full article

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110548-Leaked-Deus-Ex-Preview-Build-Impresses-Fans This and other recent instances, will change the way developers and publishers do business with sites and publications that work in the industry. I'm already starting to see the trend of publishers sending out review copy just a day before release. I'm assuming the reasoning behind this is several fold. One of which is, community sites that get the review copy, toss up an innocuous review of the game they never played, and sell their copy early on eBay for big bucks.

  17. If you were thinking of buying Nintendo’s 3DS for your child or little brother or sister, you might want to hold off on that. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime has released quite a few statements saying that Nintendo’s latest DS model which uses 3D technology is not safe for children under the age of 7 who’s eye muscles are still not fully developed and that the 3DS can cause them to have headaches and other symptoms because their eyes will have to strain to make sense of the 3D imagery. In a report by Helium, this announcement made by Fils-Aime might cut Nintendo’s demographic field with the 3DS by 60% considering that the handheld is geared more to children in the 5-10 age …

  18. So I don't usually buy stock. I'm not rich and I don't have a lot to invest. Back when Netflix had it's IPO (Initial Public Offering) on the stock market I really encouraged my father to purchase stock in the company. I think the shares were around $40? He balked at it and didn't do anything, and then a few years later used to complain when I showed him stocks were over $250. Aaaaand then came the big crash back in October. Stocks got back down to around $62 and selling due to the poor outlook, losing customers and increased pricing structure (not the mention the Qwikster debacle). I told him to buy again. I knew Netflix was about to expand to EU markets and with t…

Not many. Not that it’s a good thing, but they are good for easy experience points. Kitten slaughter aside, Mark Leung: Revenge of the ***** contains all manner of hilarious and disturbing content. From getting farted on by b*tchmonkeys, to using jellyfish penises to revive your fallen comrades, this is one very… different RPG.

View the full article

  21. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/30/call-of-duty-elite In a nutshell, service that isn't require to play online, that for a mostly fee that will most likely be under 8 dollars, will get you map packs and stat stuff. Personally, I don't like the idea of monthly fees and games at all(why the only MMO I ever played was Guild Wars), but I have about 0 interest in MW3 anyway.

  25. Started by Kevnvek,

I just finished reading the Game Informer article on this as well (very in depth). THIS is the next big Assassin's Creed I've been waiting for. New setting (American Revolution!), new character, and finally getting to whatever's going to happen in 2012. I really hope this wraps up the main arc of the AC story. Sure there can and most likely will be more, but I really don't want it to have all this craziness start happening, then have it just left to be continued in another game. The last couple AC games were still pretty good, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they were just sort of filler after the awesomeness that was AC2. I imagine one day there will be an Assas…
