Assassin Creed: Revelations Creative Director, Alexandre Amancio, sat down recently with Game Informer to talk about Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin Creed game, Revelations. The taped interviews which you can find on Game Informer, shows Amancio talking about the gameplay, historical elements, how Revelations will relate to Assassin’s Creed III, and why Revelations didn’t get a number. “We are setting all of the records straight. We are sort of closing all of the loops that have been started that have been left in suspense, and we’re going to reveal not only alot of stuff about the first civilization plot line, but we are actually going to conclude the Ezio/Altair storylin…

PlayStation 3 and PSP owners had cause to celebrate over the weekend, when Sony announced that it had begun enabling some functionality of the PlayStation Network and Qriocity, as well as relaunching Sony Online Entertainment games. However, despite Sony's claims to have rebuilt the services with a greater emphasis on security, Japanese officials are demanding greater transparency before authorizing their relaunch. Sony still faces hurdles before relaunching the PSN in Japan. The Dow Jones Newswire reports that Japan's Media and Content Industry department at the Ministry of Economy is holding up the relaunch of the services until Sony offers greater transparency on the s…

OnLive has announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be launching on their game streaming platform coinciding with the games US launch on June 14th. Partnering with Gearbox Software and 2K Games, they have also announced that with each pre-order, you will receive either a free game or the OnLive Micro Console. This deal is very similar to things they have done in the past with high profile game releases. John Spinale, OnLive VP of Games and Media had this to say: “The satirical and action-packed gameplay of the Duke Nukem brand makes it a fantastic fit for next-level, easy-access gaming on the OnLive service. Members can laugh, taunt and quote Duke-isms in real-time …

Following my review of Inside a Star-filled Sky, I had a chance to talk with the developer, Jason Rohrer about some aspects of the game. He answered some of the questions I had and was able to provide some insights into the game’s design. The following are some excerpts of the chat that I had with him, edited into Q&A format. Q: Any survival tips? A: The general idea (at least how I approach playing the game—there are many ways) is to “bootstrap” your next power up with your current one. Yeah, entering power-ups from level 118 is really hard if you’re carrying a pea-shooter (because of the difficulty modifier). So, you want to enter your NEXT power-up pick up be…

Max Payne 3 is “still in development” according to a recent posting on Eurogamer after they had an investor call with Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, but would not say anything else regarding the game which seems to have slipped into the shadows. Max Payne 3 was originally suppose to see a release date of 2009, but unfortunately has been pushed twice and is not on the release calendar for Take-Two in the 2011-2012 year. via Eurogamer View the full article

Zen Studios has maybe the best pinball simulation game on the market today with Pinball FX2. In my previous review I mentioned that the upcoming Fantastic Four table. With its release, do we get another great addition to the already stellar table lineup? Keep on reading comic fans and let’s find out in Gamercide’s first “Quick Review” As with all the other tables, Zen Studios has done a great job capturing the feel of the Fantastic Four comics. Artwork for the table is colorful and quite impressive for a pinball game. Each character is represented in great detail and put their powers to good use as you play through the missions. Voice work is very well done, as is …

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/30/call-of-duty-elite In a nutshell, service that isn't require to play online, that for a mostly fee that will most likely be under 8 dollars, will get you map packs and stat stuff. Personally, I don't like the idea of monthly fees and games at all(why the only MMO I ever played was Guild Wars), but I have about 0 interest in MW3 anyway.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110548-Leaked-Deus-Ex-Preview-Build-Impresses-Fans This and other recent instances, will change the way developers and publishers do business with sites and publications that work in the industry. I'm already starting to see the trend of publishers sending out review copy just a day before release. I'm assuming the reasoning behind this is several fold. One of which is, community sites that get the review copy, toss up an innocuous review of the game they never played, and sell their copy early on eBay for big bucks.

Game developers should know this isn’t a yes or no question. Unlike old school bankers stuck in the vainglorious days of million-dollar pool parties, or alarmist CEOs who call for massive layoff’s at the first sign of trouble, most game developers have had the privilege of seeing things from the underdog perspective. By their nature underdogs tend to challenge the status quo and eschew the easy answers. Rather than sink or swim, we might make a sail, build a submarine, or find a hundred different ways to get out of the water. We’ve just never been as limited in our thinking as those other guys, right? Then why is it that game developers are beginning to drown in a culture…

Two women who say they suffered severe medical complications from a generic drug lost their Supreme Court appeal Thursday, essentially ending their separate lawsuits against pharmaceutical manufacturers. The justices in a 5-4 ruling said generic drug companies do not share the same level of responsibility as makers of brand-name equivalents, to update their warning labels when significant new risks emerge. MS-DOS lol. It's 30 today! Thirty years ago, on July 27 1981, Microsoft bought the rights for QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System) from Seattle Computer Products (SCP) for $25,000. QDOS, otherwise known as 86-DOS, was designed by SCP to run on the Intel 8086 processor, and was originally thrown together in just two months for a 0.1 release in 1980. Meanwhile, IBM had planned on powering its upcoming Personal Computer with CP/M-86, which had been the standard OS for Intel 8086 and 8080 architectures at the time, but a deal could not be struck with CP/M’s developer, Digital Research. IBM then approached Microsoft, which already had a few years of experience un…

His death on Thursday at age 69 – confirmed by Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril – came as Libyan fighters defeated Gadhafi's last holdouts in his hometown of Sirte, the last major site of resistance in the country. Their final declaration of victory came weeks after Gadhafi was swept from power by rebels who drove triumphantly into the capital of Tripoli on Aug. 21, capping a six-month civil war. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/20/muammar-gaddafi-dead-libya_n_1021843.html

If you've signed up a few weeks ago, the second step is now live. Head to the Microsoft Connect site and log in. From there, go to the upper left and click "Xbox LIVE Update Home". From there, click on "Starting 11/1 - Console Registrations". Now go down and click the first link inside of "Step One". Get your "key", copy it and then input that key into your console. It will prompt a small download (under 2mbs). Once that is finished, run the program and follow the easy and quick instructions. That tool will upload your serial number and other information that you once had to input manually. You're done! Validation and admittance comes within 1 or 2 days. Enjoy.

But, here's the thing: as many of us have been saying for quite some time, the "best ideas" have nothing to do with legislation, because legislation is tackling the wrong problem. No amount of legislation or enforcement stops piracy. That's been shown over and over again. What does help deal with infringement is offering a better service that gives consumers more of what they want in a reasonable and convenient manner. And thus, I can't recommend enough Nat Torkington's brilliant response to "the President's challenge" above by likening it to this old joke:Heavy rains start and a neighbour pulls up in his truck. "Hey Bob, I'm leaving for high ground. Want a lift?" Bob say…
