Zen Studios has maybe the best pinball simulation game on the market today with Pinball FX2. In my previous review I mentioned that the upcoming Fantastic Four table. With its release, do we get another great addition to the already stellar table lineup? Keep on reading comic fans and let’s find out in Gamercide’s first “Quick Review” As with all the other tables, Zen Studios has done a great job capturing the feel of the Fantastic Four comics. Artwork for the table is colorful and quite impressive for a pinball game. Each character is represented in great detail and put their powers to good use as you play through the missions. Voice work is very well done, as is …

HB 2696 seeks to charge 1% tax on all games sold in state rated Teen, Mature, and Adults-Only; money collected would go toward Sooner State's obesity and bullying prevention funds. "A gentleman shot a police officer and stole his car," Fourkiller said. "He had been playing Grand Theft Auto. Not everybody is going to react the same, but I believe after hours and hours of watching the screen, playing the video game, being that person and taking on that role, people get desensitized." That same gentleman probably grew up watching The Three Stooges and Looney Tunes, too. So? Are we going to tax kid's shows now, too? Politicians need to keep their greedy, corrupted hands off o…

News about the new under developement title exclusively for the Kinect, Rise of Nightmares has been rather quiet since Sega announced the horror game at the Tokyo Game Show in 2010. Sega can now thank the ESRB for not only letting the plot out of the bag, but also doing so in the “breast” describing way possible. According to the ESRB description of the game, Rise of Nightmare will can contain: “This is a horror-adventure game in which players assume the role of an American tourist who must rescue his wife from a deranged scientist. Fans and newbies of Sid Meier’s long running RTS series, Civilization will be able to get their hands on the Facebook version of the game sometime this summer. In an interview with CNN regarding Civ World, Meier opened about what the social version of the game can do that playing over the PC cannot. “We really weren’t looking to make a quote-unquote ‘Facebook game’. We were looking at what does Facebook bring us that is unique, that we can leverage and take advantage of with ‘Civilization’-style game play. What was really intriguing to us was being able to emphasize cooperative game play, which was something that really hadn’t been a major part of ‘Civilization’ up to …

Astronomers have spotted an exotic planet that seems to be made of diamond racing around a tiny star in our galactic backyard. The new planet is far denser than any other known so far and consists largely of carbon. Because it is so dense, scientists calculate the carbon must be crystalline, so a large part of this strange world will effectively be diamond. "The evolutionary history and amazing density of the planet all suggest it is comprised of carbon -- i.e. a massive diamond orbiting a neutron star every two hours in an orbit so tight it would fit inside our own Sun," said Matthew Bailes of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Lying 4,000 light years away,…

One of three parts. Definitely worth a watch.

With so much going on at E3 this week, I’m going to try and cover as much as I possibly can, which is no small feat. I will miss some things, I’ll guarantee you that. Head over to the forums and post about anything I missed, or to discuss what I’ve listed. I won’t cover everything in depth, but I will hit the major announcements. Let’s get started: Microsoft finally announced the real name for Project Natal, Kinect. They showed Kinect Sports, a few fitness games, a Sonic game, a Forza game and an exclusive Star Wars game. They also detailed Kinect video conferencing, voice controls for movies/music, and the motion controls for video/music as well. The add-on hits…

The always under fire and controversial website, Wikileaks have released documents regarding Al Qaeda’s plot to use Sega Cartridges to kill high profile individuals including Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II. “Detainee discussed remote-controlled firing devices (RCFDS) which were found during raids in Karachi in September 2002. These RCFDS were built inside black Sega videogame cassette cartridges to protect the RCFDS and to make them appear innocuous.” – Department of Defense Records Still want to find that Sega Genesis game that you have been searching for to add to your classic collection? via Game Politics Tweet This Post View the full article

from the not-quite-as-impressive dept Over the last few years, we've noticed that nearly every victory the FBI celebrates against terrorism is actually about stopping its own terrorist plots that it feeds to hapless individuals, often nudging them and pushing them down the road to "become" terrorists, despite commonly displaying little to no aptitude for actual terrorism. Add the NY Times to the newspapers who are beginning to question the FBI's penchant for setting up its own plots for the sake of a high profile arrest of some clueless individuals. The United States has been narrowly saved from lethal terrorist plots in recent years - or so it has seemed. A would-be suic…

Game developers should know this isn’t a yes or no question. Unlike old school bankers stuck in the vainglorious days of million-dollar pool parties, or alarmist CEOs who call for massive layoff’s at the first sign of trouble, most game developers have had the privilege of seeing things from the underdog perspective. By their nature underdogs tend to challenge the status quo and eschew the easy answers. Rather than sink or swim, we might make a sail, build a submarine, or find a hundred different ways to get out of the water. We’ve just never been as limited in our thinking as those other guys, right? Then why is it that game developers are beginning to drown in a culture…
