  1. What’s a developer to do when their third installment of their popular series, Resistance sells rather poorly in the United States? Go on the defensive of course. Insomniac Game’s Resistance 3 was not as huge of a hit as they might have hoped here in the United States. The followup to 2008′s hit Resistance 2, only managed to sell a meger 180,00 copies during it’s first month release compared to Resistance 2 which sold 385,000. GamersMint who posted an article detailing their let down first month sales, compared Resistance 3′s sales to Dead Island’s first month sales which released on the same day. Dead Island happened to move over 2 million copies. So what did Insomni…

  2. Any die hard Halo fan took notice to quite a few things during the E3 debut trailer of Halo 4. Sure there were explosions and mass confusion, but one good look at certain things and you could tell that things with Halo 4 are going to be a bit different this time around. 343′s Frank O Conner explained why Halo’s green armored hero is a bit different to OXM without giving away too many juicy tidbits. “There’s some story behind his new look. There are specific reasons why he looks the way he does and why some of his behaviours have changed. We’ll see in good time.” ~ Frank O Conner, 343 Industries “A lot of things have changed in that intervening period.” We will have to …

Boo Gamerciders! It is Halloween and we here at Gamercide are celebrating by sharing with you our top favorite scary games that we played since we could hold a controller in our tiny little bitty baby hands. Let the fright fest begin! spawn622 – Gamercide Writer/Reviewer and Gnome Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem “The overall story of the game doesn’t really scare all that much, but having to always keep a check on your “Sanity Meter” really does bring a sense of dread to the game. Once it gets low enough camera angles will change, the volume of the game goes up and down, and other random things start to happen that really do screw with your mind. Ghosts and demon …

  6. Hot on the heels of Microsoft swatting away rumors that the next Xbox was releasing later this year, Sony has announced that they are in no hurry to reveal anything having to do with the Playstation 4. Sony France CEO Philippe Cardon, told french website Lepoint.fr that Sony will be the last to announce a new console. “The Wii is under time pressure because it’s in decline. As far as we’re concerned, we’re under a lot less pressure. We were the last to release the PS3. We will probably be the last to announce something.” This announcement should come as no surprise considering that Sony was the last of three brands to release a next gen console during the bitter console …

  14. Today’s Fail of the Day is being brought to you by the parents who choose to be uneducated about video games and the associates at a Best Buy who are just plain stupid. Naturally with Christmas comes lists for Santa that are filled with video game requests from little gamers all across the country. It should come as no surprise that Modern Warfare 3 is topping those lists this year. For one news website based in Virginia this “violent” video game is causing some parents concern, because they and what a shocker here, know nothing about it. According to WHSV.com, the mature rating is causing parents to be cautious and they decided to ask the gamer know it alls at a local…

  15. EA has once again proven that being the bigger man is not in their vocabulary when it comes to dealing with their Origin’s competition, Steam. On a post in the Bioware forums for the upcoming Mass Effect 3, Bioware states that the RPG will only be available on Origin “initially” and not Steam. Why do you ask? According to Bioware’s Chris Priestly it’s because of Steam’s “restrictive terms of service”. “During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches…

  16. Speaking on his radio show, Hideo Kojima stated that the Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection which contains Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition will not be coming to the current gen version of the Xbox, because it cannot hold the amount of space required to contain the beast that is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. One of the co-hosts pointed out during Kojima's show that MGS4 would need a seven (yes I said seven) DVD's in order to play MGS4 on the Xbox 360 compared to the 50 GB storage of just one blu-ray disc. Kojima did remain optimistic and state that the…

What? No Sazh?! That’s right, there is a rumor swirling about that we might not see one of the more popular figures from Final Fantasy XIII. Details from a Japanese magazine, Dengeki Playstation include news that Sazh won’t be appearing in the new Final Fantasy XIII-2. However, the magazine does say that according to a Square-Enix representative, “Final Fantazy XIII-2 will continue after the release, so look forward to later on.” Could it be that Sazh will be in future DLC for the game? I for one hope this rumor turns out to be false and that Sazh will be in the entire game. But DLC sounds exciting either way! I will update when I learn more info on this rumor. Written By…
