THQ announced that they have closed the doors at Kaos Studios and the UK studio, Digital Warrington. THQ has stated in a press release that their Montreal studio will be taking over the reigns of the Homefront series and that the reasons behind the closings were due to “a strategic realignment within its internal studio structure” and THQ “continues its strategy of aligning the best industry talent with the company’s marquee franchises”. via Joystiq Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

It’s not very often that any of the writers here at Gamercide post about anything but gaming news. It’s also not everyday that we’re all this excited about something or someone. In this case, it’s Dillon Hodges. Musician, singer, and songwriter. I’ve wracked my brain trying to remember where I first came across “ “. I’m sure it was on his website, but I don’t recall what led me there. If it was social media, I’m glad. Social media (in this case Twitter), is how I came to learn all about the man and his wonderful music. We’ve shared a few lines of text with each other, and his beautiful fiancé even thanked me for helping spread the word. He’s a gracious man, and from wh…

Developed by: Ubisoft Montreal Published by: Ubisoft Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC (reviewed) Players: 1 offline with 8 player multiplayer It’s that time again, where we sharpen our hidden blades and get ready to brutally assassinate hundreds of inept guards in our quest for the truth. You once again take up the mantle of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, now an old man, but still every bit as capable as in his previous outings. The formula still holds true, and most of the features from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood have returned. Main story missions are in Sequences, or chapters, and most of them have bonus objectives to complete for full synchronization (a better score). Almo…

In late March, Microsoft filed for registration of three new trademarks that each bare the name “Fusion” in one way or another. This filing has sparked rumors of a Kinect only series to feature the name, “Fusion”. Fusion Genesis, Fusion Sentinent, and Fusion Vault are all names that appeared on the filing and according to IGN, the Australian Classification Board has a rating of PG for Fusion Genesis which features mild science fiction violence and coarse language. Many gamers started speculating that this might be an announcement for a new Fuzion Frenzy series, however “Fusion” in the filing is spelled with an “s” not a “z”. There are rumors that began last year of the …

A person claiming to be a Microsoft insider has released details and the release dates for future Xbox One titles. Let's just say that the future looks very Halo-ey. Among the first of the series to be supposedly ousted is the Halo series. The alleged Microsoft insider is claiming that Halo 2 will see an anniversary release dubbed, Halo 2 Anniversary and will be releasing on November 11th. Halo 2 Anniversary will come in two editions; a collector's edition that contains access to the Halo 5 beta and access to a Halo TV series. The second edition; War Collection will come with access to the Halo 5 beta, access to a Halo TV series, and more interestingly Xbox One ports of H…

No Man's Sky has become one of the most divisive games in recent memory. There are 3 camps surrounding this game, with a few exceptions here and there. First up, like me, there are those that enjoy the game immensely (I'll discuss why in a bit). Secondly, you have the people on the fence. These are people that will eventually play a little more and fall on one side or the other. Last, but not least, there are those disappointed and/or hate the game completely. Now, I'm not looking to change anyone's mind about their thoughts or even help someone in that second group make a decision. The opinions below are mine and mine alone. I hope we can start a dialogue about w…

343 Industries Frank O' Connor has had enough of game leaks coming from inside the industry and wants everyone to know that "leakers" are not doing anybody any favors. "Breaking embargos is not prophesy, "Nor does it require any particular skill or insight. Ultimately he is taking or being given information and leaking it, illegally and often erroneously. And he isn't doing it for some noble or worthy reason. He's doing it for attention. "People, including nice people with kids and families and stuff, work super hard on this stuff and wake up in the morning to find some of their effort blown up. It's not fun, and for what? So you can have a mildly interesting surprise 8 h…

Yet another rumor has entered the rumor mill surrounding the hush hush next Xbox that Microsoft still has yet to announce other than it appearing on their employees resumes. Xbox World Magazine is claiming that sources are saying that the next console from Microsoft will feature a HD touchscreen controller with buttons and analog sticks and that the controller will supposedly function like a TV remote when you are watching television, be a browser for the internet, and will allow you to take the game with you to play when you are traveling or you know…taking care of business in the john. They also announced a pack of HD remakes (a la the God of War pack) of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and the recent PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Both packs will have upgraded graphics, new interfaces, and new 2D art. Also, Kojima announced the new “Transfarring” technology that will allow easier game save transfers between PS3 and PSP versions of games. We’ll have to wait for more details on this one, but hopefully it will make things less cumbersome. And on a final note from K…

Journal Menu The Witcher 2 has plenty of RPG elements without a lot of the ‘fetch quests’ . This makes the game feel so much more involved and cinematic. Most of the quests have a tie in with the story, and I never felt forced to do a filler quest just to advance through the game. Everything had a purpose and often more than one. This is excellent since it keeps the story moving steadily towards a common goal without the feeling of wasting time. You may be stuck and have to do some quests for this person or the next, but it all ties together in such a way that it feels right. Granted, there are side quests and job boards where you can use your Witcher skills to hunt mo…

On the Batman Arkham Facebook page, a mysterious message appeared hinting at a big announcement coming on 12/31/2013. Could it be a new next-gen Batman Arkham game or perhaps DLC for Batman Arkham: Origins? Warner Bros. has previously announced that narrative driven DLC was to be expected sometime in 2014 for Batman Arkham: Origins, but they did not give an exact time frame for when gamers could expect it. There is also the chance that the announcement could be a next-gen Batman Arkham game considering that owners of the next-gen consoles with the exception of the Wii U, do not have a Batman: Arkham game to play. What do you think? Game or DLC? via Batman Arkham Facebo…
