New figures from the NPD group are showing that the Xbox 360 is leaving the competition behind as it pulls away in terms of online game sales and game point cards that sold in stores. The graphs that were released by the NPD group today showcase that the Xbox 360 has had a steady and continuious rise in the number of online games and point cards that are being sold since 2006. Sony’s PS3 appears to be staying steady with their numbers, while the Nintendo Wii looks to be hitting rock bottom during the four year period which the study was made. via Gamasutra Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Developed by: CD Projekt RED Published by: CD Projekt RED Platforms: PC (Coming Soon to XBOX 360 ) Players: 1 I’m currently in the process of playing The Witcher 2 with full intentions of writing a full review when I finish. However, the game is long, and I feel the need to write a few of my impressions now, instead of waiting to do it all at once. Let me start by saying the game is absolutely beautiful. I am nearing the end of Act I, and I still find myself just gazing at the landscape, characters, and creatures in awe. Everything is superbly crafted, and I cannot wait to see more. Word’s can’t do the game as much justice visuall…

There are specific reasons why he looks the way he does and why some of his behaviours have changed. We’ll see in good time.” ~ Frank O Conner, 343 Industries “A lot of things have changed in that intervening period.” We will have to …

Developed by: Cold Beam Games Published by: Cold Beam Games Platforms: PC, PS3 Players: 1-2, online and offline Rated E for Everyone by the ESRB Beat Hazard in itself was an extremely fun music visualizer slash space shooter often compared to Geometry Wars. Rightly so, as the basic gameplay is much the same, with the onslaughts of enemies coming at your omnidirectionally firing ship, equipped with devastating, screen clearing bombs. The twist is that the gameplay is powered by your music. Your firepower is immediately influenced by the intensity of a song, while enemy and boss spawn patterns are determined by various factors throughout the entire song. Every song g…

Speaking with Edge, Paul Cuisset creator of the upcoming Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade downloadable survival/horror title Amy, explains why they took a creative and bold turn by making the character Amy autistic. “It’s difficult to go very far into this because it’s tied to the story, and we want to keep some information confidential for now. As a player, you will learn and understand why Amy has this condition,” responded Cuisset when Edge asked why they decided to make Amy autistic. In Amy, you play as Lana, a woman who is protecting a young child with autism and also has powers that cannot be explained. As Lana, you have to help the 8 year old Amy escape a …

Depends on what you consider exclusive, but RPG Site is reporting that Microsoft bought the exclusive rights to the JRPG, Tales of Vesperia that released on the Xbox 360 in August of 2008. The game also released on the Playstation 3, however Japan was the only country to receive it on Sony’s console. This news was made recent after a public Facebook posting made by Namco Bandai’s Community Manager, Charlotte Toci which happened to be directed towards a fan asking a question regarding a PS3 version was never seen outside of Japan. “Microsoft paid for the exclusivity the same way Sony paid for having Heavy Rain only on PS3. It’s just one way the business works, sadly.” …

The latest company to pledge their support to Microsoft’s Kinect is Sega. “On Kinect we’ve definitely bought into that with what Microsoft has been saying, they’ve done a great job on Kinect, so we’ve got Rise Of Nightmares exclusively on it, and we’re using Kinect functionality in our games going forward. So it’s ticked a lot of boxes,” ~ Mike Hayes, Sega West CEO in an interview with Games Industry Hayes further went on to say that Sega is also backing Wii U and Sony’s Vita which were both announced and shown at this year’s E3. via VG247 Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the f…

Duke Nukem Forever may have taken years to come out, but it did not take the poor reviews of the game long to come in. Critics have been outspoken with their disappointment of the game and many reviewers have been giving Duke an embarassing 5 or below. Firing back at those critics are Gearbox’s outspoken CEO Randy Pitchford and Duke himself. Well at least his voice actor anyway. “I have no comments regarding bad reviews by clueless critics. They seem to want to compare Duke Nukem Forever to Call Of Duty and other FPSs and they are missing the point. My thoughts about Duke Nukem Forever: It freakin ROCKS! Lots of action, lots of fun, sexy, funny, irreverent… It’s eve…

When claims were made that Nintendo’s upcoming new console was going to be more powerful than the current heavy hitters of the console world, PS3 and 360, gamers took notice. However with a recent statement being made by Nintendo that the Wii U will not be have a DVD or Blu-Ray functionality, the Wii U is shaping up to be another child’s toy or retirement home reject. “Wii U does not have DVD or Blu-ray playback capabilitie. The reason for that is that we feel that enough people already have devices that are capable of playing DVDs and Blu-ray, such that it didn’t warrant the cost involved to build that functionality into the Wii U console because of the patents relate…
