Surely most have heard of this by now, but Steve Jobs, the genius who gave us all the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, which exploded into the App and digital music age we are all enjoying today and will enjoy for generations to come, died today as a result of a rare pancreatic cancer. Let us all remember a man who fundamentally and forever changed the way we listen to music, interact with computers, and explore the possibilities of technology. Here are statements from other important individuals and organizations about Steve’s passing: “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know…

It appears that the much rumored Halo movie is back on the front burner of the rumor mill after a french press release claims that Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks are backing the film set to release in 2012. The press release which happens to be for the Forerunner based Halo novel, Halo: Cryptum clearly states, “ A film adaptation is set in 2012. It will be conducted jointly by two heavyweights of American cinema: Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks.” Does this mean that a Halo movie might release around the same time as Halo 4 in winter 2012? Or is this just simply another rumor that needs to be put to rest until Microsoft steps forward and says, “yes a Halo film is being p…

The Battlefield 3 beta has been live for a little over a week and gamers have already found ways to cheat in order to gain the upper hand in battle. DICE has come forward and is threatening to swing the mighty banhammer towards any gamers who are caught using any kind of cheats and/or glitches. “The hammer will fall swiftly and accurately,” noted DICE’s CM Ian Tornay on the Battlefield 3 forums. According to Gameranx , DICE has disabled cheating protection in multiplayer beta so that they can see and monitor what extremes players will go to just to anger other gamers and rack up those kill counts. So far during my playing of the beta I saw a few gamers glitching out of t…

Last week a pair of quick eyes spied an “Xbox 720″ logo in the trailer for the movie based on a 1956 short story, ”Real Steel” causing rumors to run rampent on the internet regarding the next Xbox since Microsoft had to plunk down a pretty penny to get that advertisement to appear in the movie. As more news is surfacing regarding Microsoft’s new supposed console, many are now wondering the console may already be in development. According to Gamezone, several Microsoft employees LinkedIn profiles changed at the beginning of 2011 to reflect working on a new console and a new entertainment experience. Jeff Faulkner ~ “Xbox Next Gen Creative Designer” since January 2011. “G…

Zen Studios has had a steady stream of new tables for their really great pinball simulator Pinball FX2. As all my other table reviews has shown, even someone who isn’t a huge fan of pinball and have a blast with these tables. Will Sorcerer’s Apprentice keep this trend rolling? Here’s the rundown of the table’s story. Jake and Amanda come face to face with an Evil Sorcerer in his citadel. The kids have no choice other than to fight the Sorcerer and his summoned creatures by using their pinball prowess and a specter named Whisper. A fairly simple premise but once you get down to the pinball, things get really interesting. The table has a ton of rail chutes and ramps …

The hackers vs. Sony battle continues as Sony’s SVP and Chief Information Officer Philip Reitinger made a short announcement late yesterday evening stating that hackers were once again attempting to compromise Sony’s Playstation Network and Entertainment Networks. Sony has temporarily disabled some accounts that may have been affected by the attempted hack. “We want to let you know that we have detected attempts on Sony Entertainment Network, PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment (“Networks”) services to test a massive set of sign-in IDs and passwords against our network database. These attempts appear to include a large amount of data obtained from one or …

Bethesda’s games are very well known for the sheer amount of in-game content included in their titles. The studio has made some of the biggest and most detailed maps in games today, maps that provide hundreds of hours of possible quests. And that’s just for one playthrough. I personally have sunk in over two hundred hours into both The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3. But what if I were to tell you that the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls sequel, Skryim, could be completed in 2 hours and 16 minutes? In an internal competition, the developers raced through the game to see how fast they could complete it. The top two scores were clocked in at 2 hours, 36 minutes, …

One of the most toughest and frustrating bundles of joy to grace your Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, Dark Souls, has been beaten on a speedrun in an amazing one hour and 26 minutes. The tough as nails RPG was released less than a month ago and gamer SexyShoiko proved that despite the reputation that this game comes with, the difficulty was no match for their knowledge and skill set. If you think you can beat Dark Souls in a faster time or just want an insane challenge, please know that this RPG may cause many of you to die repeatedly in the game and smash your controller in an anger filled rage. You have been warned. via PSX Extreme Tweet This Post Post to Facebook…

What’s a developer to do when their third installment of their popular series, Resistance sells rather poorly in the United States? Go on the defensive of course. Insomniac Game’s Resistance 3 was not as huge of a hit as they might have hoped here in the United States. The followup to 2008′s hit Resistance 2, only managed to sell a meger 180,00 copies during it’s first month release compared to Resistance 2 which sold 385,000. GamersMint who posted an article detailing their let down first month sales, compared Resistance 3′s sales to Dead Island’s first month sales which released on the same day. Dead Island happened to move over 2 million copies. So what did Insomni…

In the upcoming Battlefield 3, there will be nine multiplayer maps. These maps are the ones ‘that combined bring out everything we want both veteran and new Battlefield players to experience in Battlefield 3 multiplayer’ says DICE’s David McDonagh. So here is the list and names of the maps you can expect to run, duck, and drive in on Oct. 25th. Caspian Border This map is one of the few that is ‘lush and green’ and is supposed to be an obvious choice for players who want to play with vehicles. This is a large map where base distances are usually too long to cover just on foot, so vehicles will play a major part in this map. Damavand Peak This map takes place on a mountain …

As we all know, Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the biggest badass to come out of Italy in the past six hundred years. But how would you like to play as him against some of the whackier characters to come out of a Japanese fighting game? It is rumored that Ezio will be a playable character in Soulcalibur V. It’s doubtful that you will be able to jump down from a rooftop and instantly assassinate your opponent, however Ezio is a master of many weapons and would make a great addition to the weapon based fighting in Soulcalibur. Soulcalibur is no stranger to cameo appearances, so this awesome rumor could very well be true. Source: Official XBOX Magazine Tweet This Post Post t…

To say that the Xbox Live Arcade 2005 release, Bejeweled 2 was a hit is a huge under statement. Last week the brillant minds at Ninja Bee which happen to be behind one of the Xbox Live Arcade’s most addicting games A World of Keflings, announced that new alien-friendly downloadable content would be arriving soon. Details were a tad bit fuzzy at the time regarding a release date and price, however my fellow kefling addicts can calm down now because Ninja Bee has released the details. On October 25th , the It Came From Outer Space DLC will release on the Xbox Live Marketplace for a tiny lumpsum of 320 points. Not too shabby considering that the content will add anywhere between two to four hours of gameplay and increase the game’s total content to 30%. It Came From…

Talk about embarassing. EA has announced that Battlefield 3 will have a day one update that gamers will be required to install in order to play the game and that all media reviews of the shooter be held off until a week after it’s release. EA has also added that Xbox 360 gamers will have to download the game to their hard drive in order to see the graphics at their best representation. What is EA’s reasoning behind the day one update? DICE are perfectionists of course! “DICE are perfectionists — they will not stop polishing the game until it is in your hands” claimed EA. Why yes, gamers across the board will accept that giberish especially after the horrible, cheat fi…
