If you've been waiting all these years to sell that box of wires named "GameCube," you've waited a bit too long. As of April 2nd, GameStop will not accept trade-ins for the system, its games, or any of its affiliated accessories. This news holds some nostalgic value for me, as the GameCube was the first console I ever owned, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee was the first game I bought for it. Now that the Sony GoW3 has come and gone, Microsoft has announced that its GoW3 will be arriving to finish the fight. Gears of War 3 is in development for a release date of April 2011. According to Kotaku, the official first announcement of Gears of War 3 was to take place on Cliff Bleszinski's appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon April 8th, but his appearance was postponed to the 12th at the last minute, supposedly to "polish what we're showing". Gamescom 2012 decided to give gamers a heart attack everywhere when it posted Half Life 3 as a game that was supposed to be announced at the venue. Organizers of the show have spoken directly to Eurogamer and said that it was a “mistake”. Also on that list of games that included another “mistake” was Dragon Age 3. Eurogamer did ask three times why both of the games were mentioned and are now a “mistake”, however the people behind Gamescom did not give an answer. While Ubisoft has kept mum on a specific release date for their recently E3 2012 unveiled Splinter Cell: Blacklist, it appears that Amazon UK has spilled the beans for them. A keen eye over at VideoGamer spied the next entry into the series on the Amazon UK website with a release date of March 29th, 2013. During Microsoft’s CES 2012 keynote speech, it was announced that Kinect for Windows will be launching on February 1st. Amazon currently has the PC Kinect device listed at a sale price of $249.99. The Kinect for Windows supports voice commands and hand gestures and features an improvement over the Xbox 360 Kinect version when it comes to how well the Kinect picks up movements at a closer level which is something many Kinect gamers have been complaining about with some games including the popular workout regime, Your Shape Fitness Evolved series. Assassin’s Creed 3 has gotten an official release date of October 30, 2012. Valve had stated that free DLC would be coming out over the summer. Well, it’s now near the middle of Fall, and finally Valve has released details on Portal 2′s first DLC pack, titled “Peer Review”. The DLC will add a new set of courses for Atlas and P-Body to complete, continuing the story of the pair of lovable robots “as you puzzle your way through a mysterious new co-op test track and once again match wits with GLaDOS.” Also included are challenge courses for both the multiplayer and singleplayer components, backed up with leaderboard support. One of the highlights of Capcom's next generation zombie-killer (no, not RE5) was the ability to pick up just about anything in the Mall and use it as a weapon. Sometimes the results were incredibly lethal and effective, and sometimes they were just comedic, but the fact is that if you could pick it up, you could use it. Id Software starts off its advertising campaign for Rage with the release of a new TV Spot, featuring the visceral combat the game has always showcased, to the aptly titled song "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" by the band A Perfect Circle. The fast pace and dark tones of the song do well when used in tandem with the guns, gore, wingsticks and the Wasteland this superb trailer shows off. Hopefully you do not have your Mass Effect 2 game saves floating around in a cloud save, because EA has confirmed that cloud saves will not carry over into Mass Effect 3. EA also stated that local save files that were moved between consoles using cloud saves will not work either. For those of you that have your Mass Effect 2 save files in a cloud save, you will have to import your save onto an original Xbox 360 hard drive and then transfer it manually to a new console with a USB cord or transfer cable.
