Gamescom Error Leads to Half Life 3 Listing

Featured Replies

Gamescom 2012 decided to give gamers a heart attack everywhere when it posted Half Life 3 as a game that was supposed to be announced at the venue.

Organizers of the show have spoken directly to Eurogamer and said that it was a “mistake”.  Also on that list of games that included another “mistake” was Dragon Age 3.

Eurogamer did ask three times why both of the games were mentioned and are now a “mistake”, however the people behind Gamescom did not give an answer.

Was it really a mistake on the part of an employee behind the scenes or was Half Life 3 suppose to be announced but Valve changed their plans?

Wouldn't it be funny if they finally released another Half-Life and it was a prequel? Sure it'd be neat to see the events between 1 and 2, the Combine or whatever their organization is called being formed and taking control of the population, but people would be so pissed lol.

Dragon Age 3 I don't know about. I still need to play 2, and even that might come after I replay the first DA on PC.

What I don't get is why Valve is just sitting on this. I mean, is there any doubt that they are going to be making the game? They are a company and companies are created to make money. When you have a big deal franchise that will make you millions of dollars and probably be one of the biggest selling games of all time, why would you NOT want to do it?
