First DLC that will be available in June is Close Quarters which includes, you guessed it "CQ" style multiplayer maps, weapons, dogtags and new assignments. In your Thursday edition of “I could give two shits about something containing Call of Duty in it”, I present to you the latest rumor regarding 2013′s release of the next installment in a series that others call unique and innovative, however I refer to it as a once great thing turned into a huge steaming cow patty. Siliconera is reporting that Activision is already recording voice overs for the 2013 release of the next Call of Duty which will continue the Modern Warfare story if you want to call it that after Modern Warfare 3. Supposedly there is also a flashback with the now dead “Soap” MacTavish. Anybody remember his death scene? Most un-climatic piece of story tell…

While the upcoming September release for Gears of War 3 will be ending the current story involving the tough talking, overly muscular Marcus Phoenix, Cliff Bleszinski hinted to Ripten that more Gears will be coming in the future. “….Gears 1 and 2 sold about 6 million copies, so if this game comes out and, God willing, sells 8 or 10 million it would be completely dumb to not do another one, right? It’s just business 101. So, I mean, the key is figuring out what’s appropriate. What makes sense for this connected world that we’re moving into? So, that remains to be seen. That’s the million dollar question…” – Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director for Game Development at Ep…

While the three in the title might lead some to believe this is the third game in the Bejeweled series, it is actually the fifth and the only direct sequel to Bejeweled 2.This fantasy themed variation on the same is a far cry from the original Bejeweled released ten years ago with only two modes of play. Bejeweled 3 provides players with 8 modes of play and 8 types of gems to swap. Bejeweled 3 brings back 4 traditional modes of play, as seen in Bejeweled 2, and adds 4 new modes. Returning on the platform are Classic mode, Zen mode, Lightning mode, and Quest mode. Classic mode is the basic Bejeweled game at its core. Players continuously swap gems until there are no more m…

BloodRayne hasn’t had the best track record. A couple of lackluster action games from the last console generation probably doesn’t have many excited for this new iteration. Will the drastic departure from the original’s style be enough to win over new fans? Let’s delve in to this 2D blood fest and see what we get. When WayForward announced they were working on a Bloodrayne title for XBLA, it was a pretty big shock. Their last game, A Boy and His Blob was really. A button dedicated to sucking the blood out of your enemies is a HUGE departure from the dedicated button for hugging. I’ve never been a fan of the Bloodrayne series, but I think I’ve been converted after t…

Sega games on a Nintendo console here in America? That is correct. The ESRB has rated two Sega Game Gear games for Nintendo's 3DS. The Game Gear games are Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble which happens to be a favorite of mine and Shinobi. Both have received an "E" for "everyone" rating. For those of you that are not up on your handheld knowledge, the Sega Game Gear was Sega's take on the handheld craze that released here in the states in 1991. Sega officially dropped support of their handheld in 1997 after an unsuccessful shelf life in Japan and issues with the handheld's battery life became more prominent. The original model would only last for about 4 hours. Seg…

What’s the story behind your gamertag Well, back in the day when I was a wee lad, I used to go by xStArDoMx. Can you just feel the teenaged angst? The story behind it isn’t very remarkable. I went through some old gamertags for clans with lots of x’s and alternating caps back when I used to play Halo 2 on the OBox. Once I got a 360, I decided I needed something better. I originally just wanted Stardom but, alas, it was taken. So I used my awesome workaround skills and came up with xStArDoMx. I’ve since moved on to bigger and better names such as Nick. Other aliases I go by are FeversMirrors (based off of an album by Bright Eyes) and Taters (my Steam name if I remember c…

  22. The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Developed by: CD Projekt RED Published by: CD Projekt RED Platforms: PC (Coming Soon to XBOX 360 ) Players: 1 I'm currently in the process of playing The Witcher 2 with full intentions of writing a full review when I finish. However, the game is long, and I feel the need to write a few of my impressions now, instead of waiting to do it all at once. Let me start by saying the game is absolutely beautiful. I am nearing the end of Act I, and I still find myself just gazing at the landscape, characters, and creatures in awe. Everything is superbly crafted, and I cannot wait to see more. Word's can't do the game as much justice visually as a …

During my preview session with Sengoku, I was given the chase to play through some some campaigns as various clans. This preview will detail my experience with one of them. Asura’s wrath is great indeed, and now he has returned to set things right. Let’s clear one thing up right away. As much as it might seem so, this is not a Japanese God of War clone. There are certainly some similarities, but Asura’s Wrath is very different from God of War or other similar hack’n'slash titles. In fact very few, if any, games are all that much like Asura’s Wrath at all. The approach taken is quite unlike most games you may have seen. You spend as much ti…
