Keeping up with the Scifi slant of our Literary thread, i have a book series to recommend. I just started to read the Entire and the Rose series from Kay Kenyon, and I must say she's the best breakout novel artist I've read since Terry Goodkind came on the stage with the Sword of Truth books. Kay Kenyon's first book in the series is Bright of the Sky..... consequently you can get it for free right now from Amazon as a Kindle Book download, which makes checking out this talented author a no-brainer. P.S. why is it that whether they're male or female they're still called Authors?

You never know who you’ll meet on the internet. Maybe it’s the Craigslist killer, or maybe it’s the author of a book you need to read for your summer school assignment. For Yahoo! user ♥ Idiot America ~ ϟƘƦІןן∑x ♥, the latter held true. He (lazily) took to Yahoo! Answers to have someone else review his summer reading book for him, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep And Never Had To by DC Pierson. Surprisingly enough, Pierson himself responded to the post. Not everyone can be a hero. This phrase, and ones similar to it, have been spoken throughout generations. Teachers, parents, leaders, they have all said it, and everyone has heard it. Not once or twice but a hundred thousand times. If everyone had a super power then what would the world even be? Just a bunch of beefed up super dudes bro fisting each other so hard that they collapse a nearby building. I get it, not everybody is special, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming. Nobody knows how the heroes came to be, there are the rumors and tinfoil hat theories. Most people? They just don’t care. They go about their normal lives, with some minor hero inconveniences. D…

As the title implies, this is something that I wanted to share. I had a creative paper project that was due for my Arts and Humanities course on Sunday. I was supposed to come up with a monument that I would have erected in my honor and describe why, who I am, and include what I learned from the course this semester. This was a unique project for me, because this is also child abuse awareness month. I found this in a way therapeutic that I could tie my childhood past into this project. This is what I wrote. I cut it off where it starts to turn into boring class crap. As a child, I did not feel much love if any love from my mother and as a young girl who dreams wer…

So, my friend recently introduced me to this Manga called Liar Game. "Nao Kanzaki, an honest and naive college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) and an invitation to participate in the "Liar Game Tournament". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million yen. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. She discovered her opponent was her elementary school teacher, Mr. Fujisawa. When Nao was easily tricked into giving her opponent the 100 million yen, she asks Shinichi Akiyama, an ex-convict and genius who recently got out of jail, for help. Though Akiyama was reluctant …

Long ago, in the magical land of Skyrim. There was a man who embarked on an incredible journey, a journey that made him legend. This man, well, his name was Spaghetti. He was a Dark Elf, Dunmer if you will, with a very strange look about him. He was average height, slender, and everything else seemed normal about him, except for his face. When I first encountered this man, Spaghetti, at the Winking Skeever, I swear to Akatosh I thought that n'wah was going to snap my arm right off my shoulder, and use the bones to smoke his steamed "skooma" or whatever the kids are calling it now-a-days. Anyway, so Spaghetti sat down next to me and ordered a drink. I could see him lookin…

May as well post about another graphic novel series that was pretty great. Scott Pilgrim is at times down to earth and fairly serious, while at other times over the top and stylized like a video game. Tons of awesome references in it. I read this series back around the time the movie was coming out, and the movie is yet another great adaptation. The books are even being rereleased in colorized versions. Anyone else ever check these out?

I already thought the movie that came out a few years back was awesome, but I just got done reading the first part (8 issues) of the original comic of Kick-Ass and it is pretty great too. I'm definitely going to read Hit Girl and second series before watching the movie of Kick-Ass 2. Has anyone else read these?

This is a good read by the writer of the first Borderlands game. http://www.amazon.com/The-Returners-Season-Omnibus-ebook/dp/B00AUA9QV4/ref=pd_sim_kstore_3 Alex Heton is living a second life and so is his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend, Chloe. After a man tries to kill both of them in a restaurant, they reveal to each other that they are the reincarnated bodies and minds of Alexander the Great and Joan of Arc. Before long, they find out that there are many out there like themselves, from Eliot Ness to a thirteen-year-old Albert Einstein. As the group tries to band together and figure out how they have returned, they are hunted by a crazed killer who is just like them: a retu…

Wow. This is freaking crazy and disgusting all at the same time. It's about Orcs that have a "gronch based currency". What is "gronch based currency? I'll let this screengrab explain it. Wow. Just, wow. There is an interview with the comic's creator over on an unmentionable site who's name is not to be mentioned here and is censored for life yo.

Just finished reading All In by, Paula Broadwell. Though, sometime a bit of a love affair with David Petraeus, I doubt it will change anyones already negative opinion on the man. It's still a fantastic read, giving some great insight into the single most influential figured in the modern American military. With alot of very compelling and heartbreaking stories from central figures in his battalion and other who'd worked closely with General Petraeus over the years. And it also touches on his views about support for the war dwindling over the years. The author really got a chance to pick the brain of General Petraeus and found a very dynamic and convicted man. Agree or di…
