I Cried A Lot Tonight.

No, I didn't tear another muscle. :P

I just saw Avatar for the first time. I kept planning to see it in the movies, but it somehow just would never work out, so I bought it on Blu-Ray and, since I have to stay up all night to get my sleep schedule setup for work, it was the perfect time to watch a movie that made me bawl my eyes out and wish that my fiance was awake, so I could squeeze the heck out of him.

My god, the love story just totally got to me. Leave it to James Cameron to make a love story that rivals Titanic's.

Anyway, this should've probably been put in movies, but since nobody's talking about this movie because I'm the last person alive to see it, just thought I'd stick it here. If you must move it...well, then you must. :)

I found the environmental questions it brought up pretty sad as well :(

I haven't seen it y et but I want too. I downloaded the soundtrack though and love it

Yeah, the music was really good. You have to see the movie. I thought it was just gonna be a guys action flick with a cursory love interest. I didn't expect it to touch me as much as it did.

To Timmy: Yeah, the nature themes were very deep too. Made me wish we, as a people, had a deeper connection with the Earth than we do.

Btw, is it gamercide, or just my connection? Everything's loading slow as heck.

Everything seems to be working fine for me unsure.gif

I see you.

A lot of folks picked on this movie for having an unoriginal storyline (see Pocahontas), but I loved Avatar. I never buy movies, but I bought the Blu Ray on Thursday when it came out.

If I could just get my wife to see that! I've seen the movie twice, and she still refuses to see it because she thinks it's just a sci-fi action flick. I own it now, and I'll have to make her watch it!

Yeah, I guess I can see their point. After I saw the first trailer and nobody knew what the heck the movie was actually about, I told a co-worker, "think Native Americans when the English colonists came, but the way the story was told, and the depth of the characters made this movie for me and that's what touched me so much. That's one thing I couldn't get past with Independence Day. Main characters died and I was like, "meh." I wasn't emotionally invested at all. With Avatar, even the side characters, like the helicopter pilot...

If it helps at all, show her my post. Maybe a woman's viewpoint will help sway her. It's the love story that really got me more than the action. I think that'd be the case for most of us girls.

I just seen it Thursday, and I never went to see it in theaters. It was such an amazing movie, it would have been awesome to see in 3-D. But the movie itself was phenomenal. Loved the characters. and emotion in the movie.

I know, I kept telling my man that we have to see it while it's in theaters in 3D, but the times just never worked out. Then on the day of my b-day party, my mom decided to take me to the movies before the party started. I was going to pick that one, but taking in the time her flight came in and the time the party started, the movie was too long to fit into the time we had available. I ended up having to settle for Alice in Wonderland in 3D instead. I was kinda bummed.

i loved this movie, very great story and the visuals were amazing. havent decided if i wanted to buy it or not yet though.

This is gonna tick a lot of people off. I really DID NOT like this movie. It was the first movie I had seen in 3D and I was less than impressed. I thought the story was really predictable and boring. *Cody puts on his impenetrable flame shield* cool.gif

i haven't watched any of the 3d movies. someone in hollywood must have noticed. they must have had a roundtable discussion on how to make me go see one....

Same here, I mean, it was okay, but the first hour and a half or so it was just so predictable and boring. I did think the 3D was handled well though, not used constantly just for the sake of having it.

I will continue to call this movie" Dances with Smurfs" though

I was indifferent about it. I am one of the few who thinks 3-d is stupid. Honestly the first 5 minutes is cool, then after that it's just like wearing a pair of glasses that fit wrong and keep sliding down your face and on top of that it ended up giving me a headache. As for the story it leaned a lot towards native american/african type vibe and that sort of turned me off a bit, I've never really be into either of those two things. The humans were cool though with all their bad *** toys.

i've been in an african. not native american though.

Bow chicka---what? I am straight. :( I'm just a very strange person lol.

Incidentally, this image from The Odd and the Cool thread is epic:

The wife and I watched it for the first time last night. We both enjoyed it. Sure it was Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas, and Fern Gully... (Honestly most movies are not that original) The visuals were outstanding! I did not go to the theater to watch it for two reasons, 3D gets me sick and the time and money thing was just not there.

It was really ENTERTAINING!

JC can do some amazing visuals in movies...

Avatar

Titanic

True Lies

Terminator 2

The Abyss

Aliens

Terminator

Piranha Two the Spawning... (Well maybe not that amazing...LOL)
