This. Is. Awesome! From Wired.com: A U.S. security firm that claimed to have uncovered the real identity of Anonymous members responsible for a recent spate of web site attacks became a victim of Anonymous itself, when members of the online vigilante group breached the company’s network and stole more than 60,000 internal e-mails. The group posted the e-mail spool Sunday on the Pirate Bay torrent site for anyone to download and sift through. HBGary Federal, which does classified work for the U.S. federal government among other security work, claimed it had been working with the FBI to unmask hackers behind recent denial-of-service attacks against PayPal, Visa, MasterC…

via NY Daily News A 4-year-old girl is being praised as a hero after escaping a car accident to get help for her trapped mother and injured little brother. Averie Carrion was in the backseat of her grandfather's pickup truck when her mom, who was driving, lost control on a deserted road in northwest Iowa over the weekend, KTIV 4 News in Sioux City reported on Wednesday. The Chevy Silverado "rolled about two to three times" before coming to a stop on its side, the girl's mother, Jamie, said. She could see her one-year-old son, Abel, was bleeding. "I can't see Averie and at that point I tried to call her name and she didn't answer me," Jamie said. "I thought she was u…

http://www.mediadump.com/hosted-id176-actors-in-character-now-that-is-acting.html I really enjoyed this article. Lots of recognizable actors/actresses making faces based off a description of a scene they're presented with. Lawrence Fishburne FTW. LoL

http://gizmodo.com/#...t-over-yourself Ok, I completely disagree with him 100%. This guy comes across like such a pompous tool and berating his readers that it makes me want to dropkick his forehead. I don't use Facebook. I don't need it. I have email. I have my Droid. I have text messaging, IMs, and most importantly I have REAL LIFE. LoL Facebook isn't for everyone, and to compare it to the revolution in social interaction to the upgrade from landlines to cellphones is moronic IMO. And to say that if you don't have Facebook you don't care about your friends? /facepalm Sure some people may love Facebook and spend a crapload of time on it, but it isn't the end o…

I just saw a brief glimpse of the story on cnn about the guy that claims he was part if the srals who took out osama, and apparently he was lieing. Now they had him on asking him qurstiond on why he lies basically making him look like a douche. Okay here is what gets under my skin shouldnt the media be at fault since they ran the story in the first place? I mean seriously why is this guy even on he was homeless on 911 not in anapolis. The media hears this guy is a seal and automatically prints it as truth THEN find out he is a fraud and berade him. Its just *** backwards to me. If I was that guy I would just laugh because the morons bought it. It was just one of those obv…

Hey, So thought I'd post it up here since I don't have a blog As you may or may not know, the queen is visiting Ireland and the visit starts tomorrow. Well tonight the army was out in my town (Maynooth) and they found a bomb on a bus that will be following one of the queens routes. Bus stop is like a mile from my house. Queen will be coming out this way anyway since it is horse land in Ireland with studs everywhere (which nicely clog up roads when transporting the horses). Some IRA types have been releasing statements lately saying she is a viable target. Reminds me of a phrase Irish people say sometimes. Jerry Adams first coined it when someone in crowd shouted, "Br…

A Minnesota hacker prosecutors described as a “depraved criminal” was handed an 18-year prison term Tuesday for unleashing a vendetta of cyberterror that turned his neighbors’ lives into a living nightmare. Barry Ardolf, 46, repeatedly hacked into his next-door neighbors’ Wi-Fi network in 2009, and used it to try and frame them for child pornography, sexual harassment, various kinds of professional misconduct and to send threatening e-mail to politicians, including Vice President Joe Biden. Read more about this nut in the link below http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/07/hacking-neighbor-from-hell/

Can't resist posting something this wacky. It's amazing what medical science does these days. Doctors in China saved a man's partially-severed finger - by attaching it to his stomach. Furniture worker Wang Yongjun, 20, cut off the end of his middle finger with an electric saw in an accident at work. Wang, of Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, was rushed to hospital where doctors had to think fast. Dr Huang Xuesong said the muscle and skin had been cut away from the end of his finger leaving only the bone showing. "We had to make a quick decision or he could have lost his finger. We decided to cultivate a new fingertip on his stomach," he said. Doctors operated and attached …

Researchers at the University of California Irvine have developed a material that is as strong as metal yet 100 times lighter than Styrofoam. The material is constructed from a micro-lattice of nickel phosphorous tubes that is 99.9% air. The tubes are hollow and have walls 1,000 times thinner than a human hair, yet they have the strength of metal with the added benefit of being ultra resistant to strain. Read on http://inhabitat.com/scientists-develop-worlds-lightest-metal-100x-lighter-than-styrofoam/
