May 17, 201115 yr comment_37444 Hey,So thought I'd post it up here since I don't have a blog As you may or may not know, the queen is visiting Ireland and the visit starts tomorrow.Well tonight the army was out in my town (Maynooth) and they found a bomb on a bus that will be following one of the queens routes.Bus stop is like a mile from my house. Queen will be coming out this way anyway since it is horse land in Ireland with studs everywhere (which nicely clog up roads when transporting the horses). Some IRA types have been releasing statements lately saying she is a viable target. Reminds me of a phrase Irish people say sometimes. Jerry Adams first coined it when someone in crowd shouted, "Bring back the IRA". His reply, "They haven't gone away you know".Here's hoping it goes off without any security problems. The Irish police and army have been deployed to secure the city and most of the country. British forces have also been invited to assist after some viable devices were found around the city earlier and many parts of Dublin are being locked down with streets and stores shut for the visit along the Queen's route. A lot of tension seems to be being caused because it is on the anniversary of the Dublin bombings of years ago and the Queen is visiting the remembrance garden which one republican group is planning to occupy and hold a peaceful protest at as it is considered a symbol of republicanism by many republicans and they don't want the queen to set foot there. Here's hoping the visit goes off without any major issues. Last thing Ireland needs is another national disaster. 30 Million Euro is being spent on security for the visit so one would hope they manage to ensure nothing bad happens. Report
