SURPRISE! You're now the proud owner of a limited edition shiny 360 s console! Microsoft said all Xbox 360 consoles will soon ship with a matte finish, ditching the gloss finish first used for the slim models introduced last June. The 4GB unit currently uses a matte finish. "We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish," said Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb. "The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don't wait much longer." A couple of things came up. Nothing to fret or worry about. We're pushing it back one week and it's going to be worth the wait. So, new date is Feb 7th starting at 6 PM EST and continuing on at 9 PM EST on a live stream to be decided later. Keep checking this thread for updates on which channel and the link to it. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask them here. I will not be answering why we pushed it back. It's of minor importance and the giveaway should be the main focus. Best of luck to everyone! ***** Update: The livestream portion of the giveaway will be held on the Gamercide channel on Twitch. - http://www.twitch.tv/gamercide *****

Late February Australia struck down another video game from being sold in their country due to the violence in the game. This time it was NetherRealm’s and Warner Bros’s bloody good fighting game, Mortal Kombat. The reason for the ban involved a series staple, the fatalities. The Australian Classification Board which refused to rate the game said, “……The game includes over 60 fatalities (some of which are noted above) which contain explicit depictions of dismemberment, decapitation, disembowelment and other brutal forms of slaughter. Despite the exaggerated conceptual nature of the fatalities and their context within a fighting game set in a fantasy realm,…

I decided to check that everything on Lamar's official campaign website was copyright-cleared and on the level. Lamar is using several stock images on his site, two of which I tracked back to the same photographic agency. I contacted the agency to make sure he was paying to use them, but was told that it's very difficult for them to actually check to see if someone has permission to use their images. (Great news, copyright violators!) However, seeing as they're both from the same agency and are unwatermarked, it seems fairly likely that he is the only person on the entire internet who is actually paying to use a stock image (and he'd be an idiot not to). So I took a look …

That's right, HyperDuck performed magic once again. That's two years in a row, that our two friends won big at Dream. Build. Play. First place, two years running! That's $20,000 AND the game they did the music for, will be on an XBLA title! I'm especially proud of them and Extend Studios, since the field was ripe with talent. There was a nice group of contenders for sure. That's not a sleight on last years entries, either. They were good, too. Dean Dodrill, though, is a master craftsman. Dust: An Elysian Tale was an early favorite of mine, so maybe I'm a bit biased. Congratulations to our friends Chris and Dan, and also Extend Studios. Bravo, gentlemen. We all look forwar…

So all this jazz going on with Greece being an ******* got me thinking. Is it possible for a state in the US to go bankrupt? Not the whole country but just one state? And in that case, what happens with that state?

Tragedy strikes a denver suburb when an armed assailant enters a rise of the dark night showing through the theaters emergency exit and unloads an automatic rifle into the crowd. After taking him into custody authorities found an explosive device as well. 14 were injured with 10 dead at last update I saw, several were children. I for one am glad colorado has death penalty.

We've officially entered the generation of expected DLC and missing features with the upcoming release of EA's newest entry into the Battlefield series of games. Battlefield: Hardline is slated to be released March 17th, 2015 with the retail price of $59.99. While this is considered normal pricing for games this generation, EA is offering an additional "Premium" mode at a cost to those interested in the amount of $59.99 on top of the retail pricing. Effectively this doubles the cost of the game. So what's included with your total tag price (excluding taxes) of $119.98? Masks: Which according to whatever theme the mask is gives you some sort of gameplay benefits…
