While most websites are getting together their top [enter random number here] gaming lists of 2011, I decided what better why to usher in a new year then to go over the list of disappointments from the gaming industry for the 2011 year. I doubt anybody will learn from their mistakes, but hey this gamer can hope. Right? (May contain spoilers for games that you have not played yet. You have been warned) Saint’s Row: The Third At the top of my list is Volition and THQ’s, Saint’s Row: The Third. I waited so long for this as did many fans of the series and then once I got my wanna be gangsta hands on it I was left saying, “What the f*#% did I just play?”. Between the high…

Laura Kate Dale, a transgender journalist is claiming that Fraser Millward; a British comedian and actor who was hired for the event, humiliated her by referring to her as an "it", "thing", "he" and "this one". Laura who made the announcement over Twitter stated that she "Hopes someone from Microsoft sees this" and said that people at the event "refused" to let her talk to the comedian after his comments were made and that they attempted to apologize. For those of you who will be missing those fun and fast paced Wager Matches of Call of Duty: Black Ops you can relax, well sort of. Treyarch has confirmed that "fun game modes" will be available in Black Ops 2. Speaking to NowGamer, Treyarch Game Design Director David Vonderhaar said that "In Black Ops they were called Wager Matches, and there was the 'gambling' component. But those somewhat oddball, out-of-context, just kind of fun game modes are actually going to make a fairly significant return in Black Ops 2, as what we call Party Games". Let's just hope that they aren't taking the term "oddball" to seriously. Click here to view the article

RedLynx, the creators behind the ever so popular and madly addiciting arcade game Trials may have been aquired by Ubisoft this morning, however that is not stopping them from working on their continued relationship with Microsoft to get the next bone breaking Trials game out the door. However fans who have been waiting for an announcement on a release date for the next game in the must have series, Trials Evolution, might have to wait a bit longer, because it appears that Trials has fallen under the "when it's done" trap. RedLynx's Jason Bates announced shortly after the aquisition went public that the game will release whenever it is completed and that Ubisoft is respec…

  9. Capcom has announced that they have added Tricell CEO Excella Gionne as a playable character in RE5: Gold’s Mercenary Reunion mode. Why? Your guess is as good as mine considering that fan favorite Leon should have been added, but who am I to get in the way of a gamer staring at video game boobage. Keep in mind that besides boobs, RE5: Gold will be offering new costumes for Chris and Sheva, along with the anticipated story of what really happened to Jill Valentine during the Spencer Mansion and gamers will also get to play through the race between Jill and Josh to get to Chris and Sheva after she was rescued by them in the events of RE5 before the “final” confrontation …

  10. Trixie360 has announced on her Windows Live Spaces blog that she is leaving behind her title as Community Manager for Xbox Live and moving on to her new responsibility which is Xbox Live for Windows Phone 7. "This is a heartbreaking post for me. When I first came to xbox in 2002, people didn't talk about 'Community' in gaming. Oh, community existed of course, but no one called it that. My first forays into building community began with an interview with a customer. The term "Gamer Spotlight" I pulled out of my ass in a meeting one day. What was the point of it? To give a customer a moment of attention, and to let the nascent community learn more about someone who was als…

  11. News has broke this morning that the possible first case of credit card theft from the Playstation Network security breach that happened last week may have been reported. Rory Spreckley from Australia told ABC News that he logged in to check his bank account and noticed that there were $2,000 worth of new charges billed to his account that he did not make. "I logged into my bank account just to check everything was OK and I found out there was some just over $2,000 in charges which I didn't personally accrue," Sony has not made an official comment regarding this or another report that Playstation hacking site PSX-Scene is claiming that an underground website is trying …

  14. Not sure how many of you will pop some excitement in your pants for this news, but Square Enix has announced that two somewhat dismal characters from Final Fantasy XIII will be making a return in the upcoming second part of the story, Final Fantasy XIII-2. Snow and Hope were shown briefly in a trailer at the Tokyo Game Show marking their return to your flat screen. Hope appears to have matured physically and Snow is barely recognizable when he reappears towards the end with Lightning’s younger sister, Serah. Not sure about you, but I would take Fang and Vanille over those two clowns anyday.via G4TV and Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

  18. Ubisoft brought to the gaming community a brand new vision, "From Dust" that released on July 27 for the Xbox Live Arcade and it also released on August 17 for the PC. PC gamers who have been waiting for the game to release since it was announced at E3 in 2010 are now utterly outraged over what appears to be downright lying on behalf of Ubisoft. Unfortunately that statement is far the from the truth. PC gamers everywhere are reporting that instead of being able to play From Dust offline without the need of an internet connection, they are receiving error messages that tell them that they do in fact need a constant internet connection. To make matters worse there are pl…

PC gamers who have been waiting for the game to release since it was announced at E3 in 2010 are now utterly outraged over what appears to be downright lying on behalf of Ubisoft. “We are aware of some confusion over the inclusion of DRM in the release of From Dust on PC. To prevent any on-going confusion we would like to clarify From Dust PC will release with DRM requiring a one-time only online activation. After which you will be able to play the game offline. We hope this clears any outstanding confus…

When Watch Dogs was delayed around the time GTA V released, many thought that Ubisoft was worried that their sales of Watch Dog would tank due to the popularity of the GTA series and also considering that Ubisoft created Watch Dogs in part to compete with games like GTA and Saint's Row. However, Ubisoft's Communications Manager Gary Steinman answered that question in a recent blog post on Ubi Blog and also answered other questions about the game in the comment section of his post where he revealed that the delay was not about the release of GTA V, but about the quality of the game. "We respect GTAV quite a bit. It’s an incredible game. But this decision doesn’t have anyth…

The UFC app which was suppose to arrive on the Xbox 360 today allows gamers to watch fights, stream in HD, watch the interactive fight card, and of course purchase pay per views all while using Kinect. Microsoft did not say why the delay happened, but at least it will be available for the next pay per view fight. via Gaming Blend Click here to view the article

Do you love watching the sweaty bare chested men of the UFC duke it out in the Octagon splattering blood across the mat and found yourself wishing that you could do that without having to leave your living room? Thanks to THQ, now you can. THQ announced that they are launching UFC Personal Trainer for the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 sometime this June. The mixed martial arts trainer was designed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and three MMA trainers including Mark DellaGrotte, Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez who throughout their training careers have worked with top UFC fighters gave their input to the excerise based game. According to Lead Designer Troy Sheetz, i…

Say this phrase out loud please, "the ultimate fighting weapon". Did you say it? If so, you can now be sued by the UFC! Ubisoft is feeling the wrath of the UFC's parent company, Zuffa who feels that Ubisoft's fighting game for the Kinect, "Fighter's Uncaged" is "false association with the UFC and "deliberate" confusion in the mind of the consumer..." and is also tarnishing the UFC brand and causing them to lose money. So what did Ubisoft do that peeved off Zuffa? If you guessed used that phrase in their game that I asked you to say earlier, then you are correct. Fighter's Uncaged asks gamers to become "the ultimate fighting weapon". Apparently in Zuffa's mind, the UF…
