When Aksys Games released a limited edition of Arc System's BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, I applauded. Offering a CD soundtrack and a DVD strategy guide (or Blu-Ray if you bought the PS3 version) at the same price as the regular edition, this was a trend that needed to catch on. Surely other games would follow suit? Leave it to Aksys Games to completely ruin the very concept they created. Starting June 17th the kiosk based movie rental provider, Redbox, will finally move in to the games market at all it's locations. With over 21,000+ locations nationwide, the $2 per day rental fee seems like a pretty decent price point. Selections will include select games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii. Was the upcoming release date of Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto V inadvertently given away by online retailer Walmart.com? The internet division of the retail giant from Bentonville Arkansas currently has an advertisement for GTA V on both XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 for which the shipping date is listed as December 31st, 2012. The release quarter originally given for the newest entry of Rockstar’s flagship series was Q4 of 2013. Quarter four of the fiscal year would put the release date between Jan 1st and March 30th 2013. GTA IV, the last iteration was released on April 29th, 2008. Rockstar doesn’t quite share Activisions predilection of releasing their top series on…

Just a friendly reminder for all of you lancer loving, shotgun using Gears player's out there. From July 22 until July 25 at 8:00 pm est, Gears of War 2 is running the 20x multiplayer XP event. The event started over Epic Game's Rob Fergusson's tweet on Twitter where he stated that the more followers he gained, the more XP players would receive during the weekend of Comic-Con. He received over 11,000 new followers after that tweet. The 20x XP multiplier is for every multiplayer mode available for Gears of War 2. Horde mode was also revamped for the event. The walking undead, horrifying creatures, rabid savage dogs, deadly black crows, sprawling dark cornered locations, and insane puzzles all gave Resident Evil the edge when it came to knowing what fans wanted and expected from a survival/horror game. Resident Evil will be getting yet another movie added to the list, bringing the total of movies that have nothing to do with series except for the name up to five. Sony Pictures announced today that a fifth movie has been ordered and should be in theaters on September 14, 2012.
