During a podcast interview with The Verge, Xbox Live General Manager Brian Hall spilled the beans about the next Xbox and Microsoft has been attempting to damage control since the accidental leakage. Hall who was speaking about Microsoft's products during the interview said, "We've operated Hotmail for about 16 years, We obviously have Exchange and Outlook that people use at work, and we just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office, with the New Windows Phone and the new Xbox...". Hello….my name is Siren and I am a recovering achievement addict. Screw it, I am a full blown achievement loving addict. You hear me, you! How dare you sit there and judge me with your eyes as you read this. Well eat my words, I Siren am an achievement addict. An achievement whore if you would like to go that far. Hey, when you know something to be the truth, why deny it? I am sitting here typing this up as my punishment. That’s right. They decided to punish for me for my latest antics. “I guess you haven’t learned your lesson from the last two times,” is what they said. So they took away my pretty blue controller and my hard drive and memory unit. “You can hav…

  7. Journal Menu The Witcher 2 has plenty of RPG elements without a lot of the ‘fetch quests’ . This makes the game feel so much more involved and cinematic. Most of the quests have a tie in with the story, and I never felt forced to do a filler quest just to advance through the game. Everything had a purpose and often more than one. This is excellent since it keeps the story moving steadily towards a common goal without the feeling of wasting time. You may be stuck and have to do some quests for this person or the next, but it all ties together in such a way that it feels right. Granted, there are side quests and job boards where you can use your Witcher skills to hunt mo…

There's not much room for evolution of the match-the-colour puzzle game, but there are many ways to spice things up, which is exactly what Zuma's Revenge accomplishes very well. There's not a big story behind the game, except that you are a frog, and there is an evil presence you have to eliminate by shooting coloured balls out of your mouth to match up with the same colour balls which are in columns all around you, before the columns get swallowed by a mouth of doom (that's what I call it). Sound crazy? That's what this game is, it's a frenzy of sight and sound, but the goal is to get past every one of the 70-some levels in the game by doing the same thing. It will test …

Both packs will have upgraded graphics, new interfaces, and new 2D art. Also, Kojima announced the new "Transfarring" technology that will allow easier game save transfers between PS3 and PSP versions of games. We'll have to wait for more details on this one, but hopefully it will make things less cumbersome. And on a final note from K…

Epic Games has announced that Gear of War 3 will support 3D and as a result the highly anticipated shooter has to run at a lower resolution but insists that the graphics difference is not a big deal. "It's a little bit jaggier in certain areas. Instead of 720p you're at five something," said Executive Gears Producer Rob Fergusson. He further explained that the idea to make Gears of War 3 3D friendly came a bit late in the development stage. "It was something that came in really late in our process. It wasn't something where we said, OK, we're going to design the game from the ground up for 3D. It was more of a post-process 3D, where we're like, OK, certain things need t…

Nintendo's President, Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Nintendo is no longer making a profit off of the handheld 3DS and as a result him and other top Nintendo Executives were given a pay cut to the tune of half their current salary. Iwata's confirmation comes just days after rumors began swirling that the handheld king was quickly losing money as the 3DS's price drop was announced. "First, since the launch of Nintendo 3DS, one of the things we have learned is that it has taken longer than we had originally expected in order for the appeal of this product to widely spread," Iwata stated while speaking to investors. He later added," I feel greatly accountable for having t…

  16. The theatres interface. Another development is the Air Mapmode. This allows players to view each airbase across their nation, and the range of the planes stationed there. This shows how far a plane can go before coming back to refuel. It is great for planning bombing runs or sending in fighter planes to battle it out, as you can quickly see where each plane needs to be based. Having bombers based just behind the front line allows them to easily travel into enemy territory. The new partisan system adds a new level of warfare. This allows you to be a bit sneaky and turn the enemies people against them. By slipping in some of your men, you can begin to create turmoil withou…

  17. It's only Tuesday and the rumor mill is already going strong with rumors coming from Nintendo and Microsoft's camps. E3 2012 came to a close a couple weeks ago and Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo each had their underwhelming and rather dull showcases for the upcoming year, but is there a reason why? More so on Nintendo's side? According to european website Non Specific Action, an insider claims that Nintendo held back during this year's E3 and that they had two huge Wii U games to announce, but decided at the last minute to hold off on those announcements, because they didn't want to take the buzz surrounding their upcoming console to jump ship to these new games. Both …
