"I usually don't think about it. I know I probably play a few games that people like my parents may find offensive, but it really doesn't bother me. I just play them for what they are meant for... entertainment. Now while I can see many games that are debated by people as being offensive, media and other really don't mention the fact that these things deemed "offensive" can be avoided. In Mass Effect, you can avoid the sex scene, and in Modern Warfare 2, opt out of playing the airport mission, or just do what I did and not have the heart to shoot anyone. Honestly, in these days, almost anything can be deemed "offensive," but does that mean it really is?" -Skylark95 Of-fe…

Is Valve out to get the industry giant EA or has EA completely lost their mind? EA is once again pointing the finger at Valve after Dragon Age II was taken off of Valve’s downloadable service, Steam. Last month Crysis 2 disappeared off of the download list and Alice: Madness Returns was late to appear on Steam after it released. Since then EA has been on the defensive saying that this is Valve’s doing and has nothing to do with EA’s online EA Store. via 1up Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

President Obama was spotted at a Best Buy purchasing Just Dance 3 for the Wii for his daughters and according to the President, he sucks at dance games. “The girls beat me everytime at these various dance games. You guys will never get a picture of me doing it.” Photo or no photo, unfortunately Mr. President you were caught on camera buying Just Dance 3 for the Wii over Dance Central 2. That’s embarassing enough. via CBS and Joystiq Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

New figures from the NPD group are showing that the Xbox 360 is leaving the competition behind as it pulls away in terms of online game sales and game point cards that sold in stores. The graphs that were released by the NPD group today showcase that the Xbox 360 has had a steady and continuious rise in the number of online games and point cards that are being sold since 2006. Sony’s PS3 appears to be staying steady with their numbers, while the Nintendo Wii looks to be hitting rock bottom during the four year period which the study was made. via Gamasutra Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

Despite incredibly oddball Japanese games like Katamari Damacy making it over to shores, some Japanese games don't receive the same following. Sengoku Basara was released in North America on October 25, 2005, but with many significant changes. Whereas the original Japanese game was a fictionalized telling of the Sengoku period in Japan, the localization removed all historical references in favor of a pure fantasy setting, altered various gameplay modes and designs, and renamed the game "Devil Kings". This was a misguided effort, as the game failed miserably outside of Japan. While sequels, spinoffs, and anime have flourished, the series was all but ended overseas...u…

Sony has changed the launch date of the Playstation Vita in the United States and Europe to early 2012, while Japan will still be getting Vita in late 2011. Sony’s soon to be Chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment Kazuo Hirai made the announcement and also confirmed that the $249.99 – $299.99 Vita will not see a price drop because of Nintendo’s decision to lower the price of their Nintendo 3DS. “We packed so much into the device and made it very affordable. There is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price.” via MSN Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the …

Today's Fail of the Day is being brought to you by previous Fail of the Week winner, Fox News. Every now and then Fox News decides to take step out of the daily national and worldwide news and try something different, like writing about video games that are considered "controversial". Take Bulletstorm for example. Fox News claimed that playing Bulletstorm will make you rape women and that the "possibly worst video game ever" is a bad influence on today's youthful fragile minds. What could be more fail-tacular than their ground breaking study on Bulletstorm? According Fox News, Duke Nukem is taking "sexism" to a whole new level in Duke Nukem Forever and that we should…
