At beginning of November, Microsoft temporarily (until January 2015) dropped the price of Xbox One consoles by $50 and since then has seen a huge spike in sales. So much that the Xbox One has out sold the PS4 in the United States for the past two weeks. When Sony was asked how they felt about the success of the Xbox One consoles following the price cut, they responded by saying they are still in the "battle". "No, not at all. It's going to be a very competitive holiday season. Everyone's going to move their numbers the best way they can. We're going to be fully engaged in that battle," said SCEA President Shawn Layden speaking to Gamespot when asked about if they were f…

NetherRealm Studios released another Mortal Kombat X trailer showcasing more of what's to come or who is to come on April 15th when this long running franchise hits store shelves. Kitana, one of the more popular female characters in the franchise is shown slicing and dicing with her fans in her usual scantily blue clad attire. Perhaps what is more interesting about this announcement is that in the previous Mortal Kombat game, Kortana died along with Kung Lao who is also a returning character. As many know in the world of Mortal Kombat, characters that have died and returned is not exactly unusual, however it was previously stated that Mortal Kombat X intends to pickup imm…

Joshua Peters, a popular Runescape livestreamer who is also known as "koopatroopa787" became the latest victim of swatting, which is where the SWAT team responds to what they believe is a potentially hostile situation such as a hostage situation, shooting, or something equally violent based on the call that they receive. Unfortunately, Joshua Peters whose 10 year old little brother was home at the time ended up with 10 rifles pointed at him, which prompted the emotional video from Peters who is visibly shaken and eventually breaks down. "I don't give a shit about what you have against me online. Your gripe is with me, so let it be with me. Do not involve my family in any …

No Man's Sky has become one of the most divisive games in recent memory. There are 3 camps surrounding this game, with a few exceptions here and there. First up, like me, there are those that enjoy the game immensely (I'll discuss why in a bit). Secondly, you have the people on the fence. These are people that will eventually play a little more and fall on one side or the other. Last, but not least, there are those disappointed and/or hate the game completely. Now, I'm not looking to change anyone's mind about their thoughts or even help someone in that second group make a decision. The opinions below are mine and mine alone. I hope we can start a dialogue about w…

Blue Isle Entertainment is most well known for Slender: The Arrival. Being fans of being scared by games, I'm sure you know their work. It was a good update and expansion of Mark Hadley's original game. However we aren't here to discuss that one. Maybe another time if you'd like. No, today we're here to discuss (As you can see from the title) Blue Isle's new game Valley. This one may have flown under the radar of many people, however I can say it shouldn't. I went in blindly with this one and came out the other side very impressed by what I played, how it looked, and even the super tight controls. With all that said, let's do this. Going in with no preco…

When I first got the email offering to review a Hatsune Miku game, I had to go out and see what Hatsune Miku games were. Looking at screenshots, I realized they were generally Dance Dance Revolution or Beatmania style games. So, I decided to give it a go. Now, I didn't watch videos or do much research in to what I was getting myself in to...That said I wasn't prepared. I wasn't prepared at all. Let's get in to this thing and see what I signed up for in my time with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone. Graphically this game has a TON going on and this can be extremely distracting when you're trying to actually play the game. As you play you will try…

Loss, sadness, fear, darkness, beauty, strength. These words are just a few that can describe the journey that Senua goes through in her 6 to 8 hour journey to Helheim in Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. A Celtic warrior returning from a Viking raid, to find her love sacrificed to the Norse Gods, she embarks on a journey to save his soul from Hela (The Norse goddess of death). From the outset we begin to learn just how broken our protagonist is both physically, but most of all mentally. As we begin the journey, you hear them...the whispers in Senua's head. At first you feel they are just coming from around you. Hidden faces within the landscape perhaps? The multiple voi…

A trailer for Beachhead Studio’s Call of Duty Elite has been leaked onto Youtube and Activision was quick to yank it down this morning due to copyright issues. The recent announcement of Beachhead Studios working on the pay to play Call of Duty service that is titled, “Call of Duty Elite” has left fans either shaking their heads at the notion of paying to play for yet another service of their beloved series or others just simply saying, “don’t like it, don’t play it”. This service would mix together with Modern Warfare 3, however with Call of Duty Elite you are looking at somewhere around a $7.99 a month extra charge to access the extra content that you will not find wit…

In late March, Microsoft filed for registration of three new trademarks that each bare the name “Fusion” in one way or another. This filing has sparked rumors of a Kinect only series to feature the name, “Fusion”. Fusion Genesis, Fusion Sentinent, and Fusion Vault are all names that appeared on the filing and according to IGN, the Australian Classification Board has a rating of PG for Fusion Genesis which features mild science fiction violence and coarse language. Many gamers started speculating that this might be an announcement for a new Fuzion Frenzy series, however “Fusion” in the filing is spelled with an “s” not a “z”. There are rumors that began last year of the …

Were you one of the people who pre-orderd Duke Nukem Forever way back in the day? Well we have some good news for as long as you have a receipt from all those years ago as proof of your pre-order. GameStop announced over the weekend that they will be honoring all pre-orders for Duke Nukem from back when most of you probably weren’t even a thought and that those pre-orders will receive “Duke’s Big Package” which includes the black and red trucker hat along with the game. Now would be a good time to scour through your old receipts that you have been collecting for years and have been “meaning to go through”. via The Escapist Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the …

A good eye caught this image that appeared briefly on the EA Store for their upcoming RPG hit series, Mass Effect 3. The image which was quickly removed is similar to the one that appeared on Xbox.com for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that showed the same purple logo with the words, “Better With Kinect Sensor”. A Kinect enabled Ghost Recon makes sense, but Mass Effect 3? What do you think? via NeoGaf and Eurogamer Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

Konami announced HD remakes of both Zone of the Enders, as well as a pack of Silent Hill games coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime next year. They also announced a pack of HD remakes (a la the God of War pack) of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and the recent PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Both packs will have upgraded graphics, new interfaces, and new 2D art. Also, Kojima announced the new “Transfarring” technology that will allow easier game save transfers between PS3 and PSP versions of games. We’ll have to wait for more details on this one, but hopefully it will make things less cumbersome. And on a final note from K…

The new reboot entry into the Tomb Raider series is shaping up to be exactly what this dying franchise needs in order to stay afloat in a gaming world where so many once captivating series fade away. The latest pre-E3 trailer that Square Enix has released shows a very young Lara looking surprisingly more realistic instead of the huge boobed fantasy that we are use to seeing and extremely vulnerable as cries out in pain and glances into the horizon ahead of her. via Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Developed by: CD Projekt RED Published by: CD Projekt RED Platforms: PC (Coming Soon to XBOX 360 ) Players: 1 I’m currently in the process of playing The Witcher 2 with full intentions of writing a full review when I finish. However, the game is long, and I feel the need to write a few of my impressions now, instead of waiting to do it all at once. Let me start by saying the game is absolutely beautiful. I am nearing the end of Act I, and I still find myself just gazing at the landscape, characters, and creatures in awe. Everything is superbly crafted, and I cannot wait to see more. Word’s can’t do the game as much justice visuall…
