Handhelds

Discuss games you play on any of the various handheld devices here.

  1. Started by vectordream,

I really really want to play Fire Emblem! I had all the old game boys at one time or another way back when and had the first DS before. I also still have my Neo Geo pocket It's old but still works. I loved that system. I love handhelds but have been out of the scene for awhile now. iOS has been getting me by I guess but I just hate the pay to play, microtransaction nickel and dime games on it. For some reason I got this strong urge to buy a 3DS XL this weekend considering best buy has it for $174.99. Seems like a good deal. How are you all liking yours?

  2. After getting everyone’s hopes up, Sony now says only one user account can be used on a PlayStation Vita. Though a Sony representative told Wired.com at a Vita preview event last week in Manhattan that Vita users will be able to switch accounts by swapping out memory cards, the PlayStation maker has now retracted that statement. It told Wired.com in an email on Thursday that Vita owners will indeed have to reset their hardware to factory settings, deleting all of their data, in order to sign in with a different PlayStation Network account. Sony will release Vita in Japan on Saturday and in the U.S. on February 22. “[The] PSN account is tied to the hardware and the memory …

  3. Apparently a closed door session was held to show off the PSP2. What has been "confirmed" at this point? - DUAL ANALOGS!!! WOOOO!!!! - "Touch screen" on rear of device - 1" larger screen than previous models - Fall 2011 release window Apparently they are dealing with some major overheating issues as well at this point, but knowing Sony they'll definitely sort something out. I can't imagine a whole 1" larger screen, but the promise of the dual analogs has me pumped. It's something the PSP desperately needs.

Sauce Digital announces Suckers, their latest game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The game will launch in mid September and will be free. Suckers is a highly addictive, skill based, colour matching game. Featuring bouncy physics, mega combos and Game Center leaderboards. There is a game play video here on YouTube: The aim of Suckers is to score as many points as possible before a sucker lands touching the game over line. Suckers are happy little balls that drop from the sky, at a faster and faster rate. Tap groups of 3 or more touching Suckers of the same colour, to pop them and score. Look out for doubles - which can count as either colour and can make groups from …

  7. If you like Tower Defense games I'd suggest checking these two out. Very fun games, and they've captured my attention a lot more than the equally awesome Robo Defense. The 2nd one is definitely improved and was recently released. I have both of them and they've made Angry Birds pretty lonely lately. Also, the developer of the title (Gianormous Games) is pretty awesome and helpful. I've talked to him via email a few times.
